I think what's so funny is that, despite being essentially on of the greatest, if not the greatest of all time, and being contemporary, most bowlers coming up make no attempt to be as simple and straightforward with their game as he is.
PDW is the kind of bowler I love to annoy or beat. Always trying to get under your skin with his banter and testosterone act. The best way to annoy him is to wait for him to stuff the pocket and leave a solid 9, then you get up and throw deep for a sloppy strike. The best way to beat him is to relentlessly bowl like a calm, effortless machine while he gets all bound up and furious. The madder he gets, the worse he bowls. Of course, he doesn't think that's true. His father was awesome.
Meh. To me, they’re decent, although I think Randy’s a bit of a loudmouth. Being an old dude, give me Chris Schenckel and Bo Burton any day of the week…
@ladyzmann The term "ham bone" is actually a junior bowling term for two in a row, not four. According to Wikipedia, Rob chose that name for four in a row without even knowing what the term means. Hence, I don't think it makes sense either.
WRW, jr is the man who kept PDW from millions in winnings; PDW was the top money-winner until WRW,jr showed up and the rest is history. Petey must really wish Williams, jr hadn't shown up; I can imagine he'd rather bowl anyone other than Willaims, jr for a title.
@aedaneed they have lights that shine right on their faces when they bowl. He always hated it. They adjusted them but now he does it because thats been his look for the last 13 years or so.
He's the polar opposite of his father on the lanes. But if you meet Pete in person(I have), he's actually a very likeable guy. I'm not at all a fan of his persona on the lanes, but the Pete Weber you see in person is very different than the one you see on the lanes.
Dick Weber was doing the wild thing with the misses... At the crucial point, Mr. Weber pulls out and (unlike his bowling skill) some splattered on the floor. Unfortunately for this world, instead of getting cleaned up, the misses slipped on it and 9th months later, out popped one of humanity's biggest mistakes. That's the only explanation why PW is such horribly different than the legend of his father.
@aedaneed insignificant? Didnt he win the US Open for the 5th time yesterday? Didnt he beat the "sure win" posterchild for bowling greatness, Belmonte to do it? If he is better than all your little heros, than that doesnt say much for them if you call him insignificant
that beginning hesitation reminded me of 2008 teen masters. I was siting on the lane seats and one of the bowlers threw a bad shot and was losing their match. she said i was distracting when i was trying my best to be still. When 2 people to the left of me a guy was all over the place being inconciderate. I was pissed and embarrased.
Bright approach lights I take it?!?! Poser lol!! Never tried the golf glove idea either...is that to save having a finger tipped ball,ie keeping it conventionaly drilled?
@TheMusicjuice Pretty sure basically everyone uses fingertip. Once you switch from conventional to fingertip, you never want to go back. Trust me. I made the switch just 5 or 6 months ago. I average 180 :)
@ladyzmann He was trying to be witty... since he knew 3 strikes was a turkey he wanted to call 4 strikes another type of meat we eat I guess. I hate it too.. Im old school, plus I hate Rb Stone
@pingunet - Yes it is. Bill's always hilarious on commentary because he brings basketball in every now an then. I think they should have Bill on more, IMO.
that's cool the let him bowl with a golf glove with the thumb cut out. I wouldn't think that PBA or USBC would allow something like that, I thought all that shit had to get approved by them?
I know I'm (very) old school, but listening to these clowns makes me miss Chris Schenkel and Nelson Burton Jr. "Back to back jacks"? That's sounds so cliched and stupid. They use the term "jack" to describe a home run in baseball.
Both retired on PBA at the same time. Both of them are legend. We going to miss them. Thank you sir.
I was glad to see these two bowl live here at fountain valley bowl in 2010 gonna miss these 2 legends on the PBA tour
INCORRECT! Pete weber is easily one of the most known bowlers out there, and he is a great bowler, and let's face it he makes it MORE entertaining.
Walter Ray is my favorite bowler. He has great form!
Walter Ray Williams Jr. is the goateed Liam Neeson of bowling.
I think what's so funny is that, despite being essentially on of the greatest, if not the greatest of all time, and being contemporary, most bowlers coming up make no attempt to be as simple and straightforward with their game as he is.
2 of the best players in history 😳
Pete Weber disliked this
What a pleasure watching the best....Walter Ray Williams that is. Pete should go back to his mullet.
Weber just seems like the kind of guy that if u sneeze on his downswing, he wud rage really bad..
Never made that connection before....DAMN he does look a lot like Liam Neeson =)
Walter Ray the Jordan of bowling...
yep. no question he's the absolute G.O.A.T. nuff' said.

The announcers are friggin' great.
Meh. To me, they’re decent, although I think Randy’s a bit of a loudmouth. Being an old dude, give me Chris Schenckel and Bo Burton any day of the week…
Walter Ray has always been my fav, along with Norm Duke. Could never stand Weber.
@butterpoop if you notice the glove is made by Etonic, which sponsers the PBA.
I like this. 2 veterans going against each other.
@ladyzmann The term "ham bone" is actually a junior bowling term for two in a row, not four. According to Wikipedia, Rob chose that name for four in a row without even knowing what the term means. Hence, I don't think it makes sense either.

Sunglasses indoors. Similar to wearing them at night.
Walter ray is bowling at the alley i work at rn :)
Correction: worked at.
@aedaneed they have lights that shine right on their faces when they bowl. He always hated it. They adjusted them but now he does it because thats been his look for the last 13 years or so.

Barry Asher and Carmen Salvino @2:50.
R.I.P. Fountain Bowl.
hey i was there that day it was a good show :D
Dick Weber was doing the wild thing with the misses... At the crucial point, Mr. Weber pulls out and (unlike his bowling skill) some splattered on the floor. You answered a long pondered question.
Yes,, always thought he was adopted or they switched the babies in the maternity ward there was no way he was like his father
lol the spectator at 7:04 says "suck it!"
Love PDW and his dear ol dad
WRW owns Pete Weber on Television.
What I would do to work with these guys on my game!
WRWJ pin action is unparalleled
What ball was walter using?
@VidBuster me too but the finger tips didnt last long and I had to buy gloves too often so I stpoped
i just realised this is the only telecast i saw pete switching to a plastic ball for spares
@ripcore76 what did you do?
@VidBuster a golf glove with the thumb cut out
Who do we think we are ? You are !! 😢😢😢😢
How many titles does Walter Ray have now? 48 right?
@TheMusicjuice Pete autographed a ball and gave it to me in Jan. It had rubber fingertips in it sir.
Love how Walter Ray just stares and his eyebrows shrug after Weber’s first strike. Like okay you got lucky and I’m not impressed
Is that Bill Simmons I hear commentating?
@BarneysBowlarama i think when he said insigificant applying it to him and the whole "sport" of bowling
what's their record against eachother? 9 and 1 WR?
@BarneysBowlarama
haha my poster made a slight sound when he was on the approach. he wasnt very happy with me after that haha
check out the Kiss shirt behind Walter Ray Williams Jr.
@aedaneed insignificant? Didnt he win the US Open for the 5th time yesterday? Didnt he beat the "sure win" posterchild for bowling greatness, Belmonte to do it? If he is better than all your little heros, than that doesnt say much for them if you call him insignificant
insane bowling ball..
He's a maniac, MANiAC!
1:02 One a day Dick Weber Open :DD
Where's the rest of the match
@ArsenalBowler i saw him switch the same balls with different layouts
The Grinch that stole bowling
that beginning hesitation reminded me of 2008 teen masters. I was siting on the lane seats and one of the bowlers threw a bad shot and was losing their match. she said i was distracting when i was trying my best to be still. When 2 people to the left of me a guy was all over the place being inconciderate. I was pissed and embarrased.
I lost count of how many times Pete lost to WRW on TV . If he just beats Walter on TV he winds up with the most title record and not Walter.
WRWJ wasn't throwing his left arm behind his head here. Probably wouldn't reach anymore.
@TheBowlingAddict
Either that or "The Grinch"
Sunglasses? Golf glove? This aint Pebble Beach!! lol
Bright approach lights I take it?!?! Poser lol!! Never tried the golf glove idea either...is that to save having a finger tipped ball,ie keeping it conventionaly drilled?
Earl Anthony won his titles in a shorter time span!
lol at 7:05 the guy in the back does the Pete weber crotch chop!
@TheMusicjuice And he needs 2 more Majors to tie Earl Anthony.
@2t9j0bowler300 Wikipedia is not a reliable resource. Anyone can go in and edit anythign on Wikipedia.
Got a new nickname for Pete Weber. "The Pistol" after Pete Maravich
Pete "The Pistol" Weber
I've heard people call him "The A-hole"..
@vlock1 Kind of? He clearly is one...
i cant really tell but does pete weber use finger tips with his glove or does he have it drilled cnventional?
7:06 look at the dude in the background
Commentator. "I'm 50" What's your point? I'm 63.
@TheMusicjuice Pretty sure basically everyone uses fingertip. Once you switch from conventional to fingertip, you never want to go back. Trust me. I made the switch just 5 or 6 months ago. I average 180 :)
haha he glared at me on his first shot
Now that scared me a little
From 3:53 to 3:58 they play Triple H's theme from the WWE... hah
@BarneysBowlarama I was trying (desperately) to be diplomatic.
my pop pop is a good of bowing he win 300 games
if u buy a good golf glove for like 25$ it last about 300 games
@jpba713 OMG I KNOW!
@ladyzmann He was trying to be witty... since he knew 3 strikes was a turkey he wanted to call 4 strikes another type of meat we eat I guess. I hate it too.. Im old school, plus I hate Rb Stone
i think he should of used pin up invasion
@pingunet - Yes it is. Bill's always hilarious on commentary because he brings basketball in every now an then. I think they should have Bill on more, IMO.

Walter ray may be the best but pete weber is a badass.
He's a 5'6" alcoholic dropout.
Lol at Brandon not a chance!

You guys are just not "With It" that's all! haha I jokes :P
WRW Jr hasn't been a world champion in horseshoes since the early 90s... why put em on your shirt?
@KeepitRealisrael 900 Global Break Out
@pingunet yessir
Pete Webber = Mr. Cool
He's a drama.queen
@achuang94 Wait so a guy who is distracting and causing trouble gets yelled at and Weber is the ass?
good god these announcers are awful
You're being kind. They aren't that good.
Pete Weber Go Brook! LAMAO! LOSER!
