    📼Video Summary:
The Vehicle Assembly Building has been used since the 1960s to build the rockets before they lift off from the launch pad. It has been primarily used by 3 rockets: the Saturn V, the Space Shuttle, and SLS or Space Launch System. The smaller part of the building has the Low Bays, and the main part of the building has the High Bays. There are 4 High Bays, and then down the center of the building is the Transfer Aisle. Large yellow cranes help move the pieces of the rocket. There's the Transfer Aisle Crane and then the 4 High Bay Cranes. As the rockets are assembled there are retraceable Work Platforms that can be moved in to enclose the rocket. The Crawler-Transporter helps move the rockets to the launch pad along the Crawlerway.

I think, the Space Shuttle also might go to moon if it designed as soviet "Buran", which has own fuel tank for more powerful OMS rockets. Maybe for moon mission payload bay will be reduced by fuel tank. The modified shuttle will be orbiting around moon release moon landing module from payload bay and waiting before it come. And might be we got reusable moon spacecraft. Surely if NASA fix issues with orbiter's heat-resistant plates. And replace external tank to something else

One of the rockets assembled in the VAB not mentioned in the video is the Saturn IB, used to send astronauts to Skylab. Its second stage is the same as the Saturn V’s third stage, but it had only two stages total. To make use of as much infrastructure as possible, a “milk stool” structure was built on the mobile launch platform to bring the S-IVB and Command Service Module of Saturn IB up to the same levels as they were in the Saturn V. It looked a little strange, but it worked.

Thanks Jared. I really learned a lot about the Vehicle Assembly Building from this 3D animation. Learning there are three ways rocket components are delivered: By boat, by train, or by airplane. My favorite is the airplane.
But of course depending on the components transported to the VAB the methods of delivery varies.

When I was a boy back in the 50s we he a publication called The Eagle which contained comic strip stories both serious (Dan Dare, pilot of the future) and funny (Harris Tweed, a bumbling detective). My favourite was the centre spread of cutaway drawings of various machines. I still want to know how things work and your videos are a modern day version of those illustrations and just as fascinating. Thanks for all your hard work.

3:24 I love how he casually shows a truck pulling the first stage of a Saturn-V to scale without mentioning it despite the truck being twice as big as a regular car and the first stage being at least 50x bigger, if not more 👀.
