If N is added Organic carbon is depleted in the ratio of 1: 100 . So the process of reducing fertiliser does not come. It has to be stopped only then Carbon starts to get fixed. A good balance between monocot and dicot is essential to get good C:N ratio. Cover crops should have 75:25% Dicot : Monot ratio respectively. The organic mulch should have this ratio to fix all carbon into the soil else it disappears to atmosphere.
