I have loved this man since early 50"s. That has been over 60 years ago. I still love his videos. Movies are amazing. Most talented man ever. Along with Sammy Davis jr.
Great Upload! To me, Donald O'Connor possessed the "Lightfootness & Quick Agility" of Fred Astaire, with the "Physical Strength Precision" Dance Moves of Gene Kelly. Combine these dance elements and O'Connor becomes his "Own Man". As Fate would have it, I think Donald O'Connor played amazingly great Co-Starring Roles, just not enough "Leading Man" Roles to send him way over the top into the Dance Stratosphere like Astaire and Gene Kelly.
I think the two most underrated dancers in Hollywood were O'Connor and Gene Nelson. Unfortunately, Kelly and Astaire got all the attention, while Nelson and O'Connor who I think were better dancers than either Kelly or Astaire, never got the acclaim they deserved.
Very interesting. Such a pity there weren't more movies featuring Donald O'Connor's dancing (other than 'Singing in the Rain'). The other guy, by the way, is Anthony Newley.
That was Anthony Newly, English actor and singer, who was married to Joan Collins. He made a popular song from a Broadway show which was "What Kind of Fool, am I" Sadly died young.
Good thing they put the Irish in there... Donald o COnnor ! He was amazing -was born in a trunk to a vaudeville family. He was the main wage earner when he was just barely in his teens. Only Hollywood would put him in a movie with a co-star who couldn’t dance- a mule🙃😮😶 What a gift RIP Donald
Dont remember seeing this Loved Donald O Connor in Singing in the Rain he blew my mind as a kid when i saw him run up the walls and flip over like Gene Kelly an all the top Pros an Elite Athlete but with style and humour A Maze Ing

Donald O'Connor took no back seat to Astaire or Kelly. He was fantastic. Consistent, flawless and smooth. Absolutely pure joy to watch.
Donald O’Connor was always above the rest for me!❤
What a wonderful history of (tap) dance. What a talent Donald O'Connor was. Such an pleasure to watch and an inspiration.

Donald O'Connor is the George Harrison of Hollywood's male hoofers like Astaire, Kelly & Sinatra - he didn't go unnoticed
YESSSSSSSSS
Absolutely a Great analogy. Spot on, well Said
Sinatra wasn’t a hoofer. He did learn for some roles but was not a real dancer like Astaire, O’Conner, and Kelly.
Sinatra wasn’t a hoofer.
Tony Newley I loved his voice as for Donald O Connor he was up there with Astaire and Kelly
LOVED Donald O'Connor. So talented and funny. I think he was a sweet man from what I hear.

June Wells there actually are some, just hard to find. Look around on TH-cam to spy out some more clips!
There's 'I Love Melvin' , where he tapdances on skates, there's 'Are You With It?', 'This Is The Life' from the 40's (both films on TH-cam).
@@estheroreilly3143e danced with Sherly Temple, Debbie Reynolds
