    I have had the Fishman Artist Loudbox for about 5 years now. It is a great bit of kit. Good for guitar and vocals with phantom power for the mic. I even plug my Roland piano into the aux channel. My only negative comment is the poor quality of the tolex. My Fishman has had an easy life, used only in my home studio and never gigged. The top layer of tolex is peeling off all over and it looks dreadful. This is a common fault and I have read elsewhere that Fishman do a low cost recovering service in the USA but that is no use to us here in Europe.

    Hello, thanks so much for the great videos on the Loudboxes! I have a question: currently I own a Loudbox mini and I want to purchase the Artist or Performer. What I would lke to know is what the difference in volume is between the Artist and Performer.
    The Mini tends to clip/compress when I really push it to its limits (I know he others will too), but I just need more headroom, so I want a bigger amp. I know what the differences in power are between the Artist and Performer, but sound pressure wise: how do the Mini, Artist and Performer relate to eachother? Is the volume difference between the Mini and Artist bigger than between the Artist and Performer? If this difference between the Artist and Performer isn't that big, I think I would favour the Artist.
    I know these questions about volume are pretty difficult (you have to hear for yourself of course), but despite that, I hope you can help me!
    Thanks in advance,
    Steven

      Hello, I'm just a viewer watching to find out about the Loudbox series. I have a plan to purchase the Performer. I'm writing because you asked a great question and I'm sorry to see you didn't get a response. I have met several folks that really LOVE the loudbox. My friend just recently asked the same question you did, and the answer given by some sound folks at our local music store said you will never go wrong with the extra head room that the higher wattage offers; the sound will just be richer. Especially since there is a Master Volume. Typically a Master allows you to dial in a sound you like, then lower it without the sound quality going away. My friend was thinking of going from the Performer down to the Artist, and she is sticking with her Performer. Personally, i think either will work great! Happy Playing!

    I've had mine for years and I love it! The only problem is that over time the exterior finish deteriorates. I think it's a design flaw. After searching on-line, I have found that this is a very common occurrence.

      @@BoyntonProAudio Yes...the performer will, but not the smaller ones, no matter what all their fans say. They all sound great at low volumes, and of course if you send a line out to your PA. I had a Loudbox Artist, but it was always on the verge of breaking up at real band levels. I replaced it with a Performer and that one does the job.

      Hi Robert! Thanks for the kind words. We used a Taylor 114CE in the video.

    • @williwaizenegger3853
      @williwaizenegger3853 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert, when I got my Taylor 814ce, I also got the Loudbox Artist at the same time. A killer combination. I would buy either/both again in a heat beat.
      My only issue is with a certain amount of feedback when I sit too close, but I think it's because of the room I'm playing in; a very lively room. No carpet, etc. As soon as I sit away from the speaker, the problem goes away. Yes, the feedback control is set way up.

      I had the same situation with the Mini. I just put it on a tilted amp stand and the problem vanished. Sounds so good with my Martin GPCPA4.

    I'm looking into getting a pedal or 2 for my husband for Christmas. He has this amp. Im not well educated on what all this amp can do. There's alot going on there lol. Does anyone have and recommendations on affordable pedals that offer effects the amp doesn't already do. Thanx
