- TikTok star Caleb Graves died after running Disney's 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon in Anaheim, California over the weekend during the SoCal heatwave. A Disneyland Resort spokesperson tells ET, 'We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and our hearts are with Caleb’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.' Caleb was 33 years old.
If your body is telling you no then listen to it.
Facts!
Disney was also irresponsible
Climate change strikes again. Sudden death is sky rocketing and doctors are baffled ...about climate...changes.
Passing out after a 20 min dog walk was a warning sign. The fact that he even made it to the finish line really shows how our brains can get us to places our bodies can't. I remember trying to control almost throwing up during a run and I didn't realise - I was pushing my body too hard. It's unrealistic but if there was a way to get people to do a physical assessment and check for underlying health conditions before doing half-marathons or marathons, it might prevent unexpected deaths like these. The fact that people can die doing the very thing that is supposed to make you healthier has always bewildered me.

Anything in excess or under certain conditions whether healthy food or exercise becomes dangerous or unhealthy
🙏
What? His brain was telling him to stop but he was too stupid to listen
So sad...his intuition was talking to him. So heartbreaking.
Marathon runner here: If you’re passing out the day before you run a huge race, you shouldnt race. Especially a race where the conditions aren’t good.
This is so heartbreaking and so scary. One day you're here and the next it's all over. RIP to him.
Absolutely idiotic to have a marathon during such a heatwave, and at Disney?! 🤬
May he rest in peace ❤️. His poor family ❤️
Exactly, they should have canceled the race!!
It definitely should have been cancelled.
Are u calling him an idiot for participating too?
@@brittneyp9208canceling would have caused a giant uproar. People pay anywhere from $220 to $680 to run the race.
No because he trusted that if they're having the race, it's safe.
May he Rest in Eternal Peace
They say that we know when it is going to be our time and he definitely knew. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Can you elaborate?
How would someone know they'll..."expire" soon?
No. He KNEW that it wasn’t safe to do this and something was telling him to stay back. . .
@@marissa._ There’s multiple stories on this. Go look into yourself….
BS
@@CarlitosLozoya as in Bachelor of Science!?
Regardless of any preexisting issues he may have had I find it irresponsible to not cancel a marathon of any length in temperatures when their is an extreme heat advisory..
Definitely wehad it for a week this EXA
They didn't cancel because people pay between $220 & $680 and come from all over to participate.
They ran in the morning. By the time it ended at 10 am it was around 88, not 108 degrees much later in the day around 5 pm. It wasn't that hot. I'm guessing there's more to the story. At 35 and running many marathons, a little heat should not kill you unless you got the c 💉.
@@sociald4515they should have got refunded. Look at concerts, they cancel ,and get refunded.
That's horrible, the heat is that bad, the marathon should have been canceled
Dang he took a chance and lost out " 😞.Life isnt fair at times
They should have canceled the marathon. Who holds a running marathon while it's close to 100° outside???
Disney. That's WHO
The weather was not that hot when they ran apparently. The race started early in the AM
My first reaction to this is WHY would you be walking your dog in this heat when it literally says EVERYWHERE to stay in doors, don't want your dogs, don't allow the elderly outside, and STAY away from strenuous activities. Geesh. Sorry this happened to you, but come on. PAY attention to your body AND the weather.
it was only in the 90s
Running in this California HEAT-WAVE is Crazy 🥵
Doesn't sound like his death was heat related at all. Likely heart problems.
He definitely should NOT have participated regardless of there being a Marathon. No one put a gun to his head, and he himself knew that running under the circumstances was not in his best interests, and he did it anyway...
I’m assuming he already had an underlying issue…
Seems like he ignored warning signs of a cardiac issue.
Lack of good judgment. We’re in a heat wave. No one should’ve been running this marathon
And he’s probably been training all through this weather
thats what i'm thinking. people forget that what's considered a "heat wave" in los angeles isn't all that high temperatures. passing out from the dog walk indeed was a sign that he was having issues and he might have had the same outcome even if it was a winter 1/2 marathon.
@@mariceladaini9304no. It is too hot to walk on 90 degree weather
No. It's not cute to lose control of your body or your life. Listen to your intuition. He knew in it heart not to do it. Eternal rest Grant unto him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him and through the mercy of God may he rest in peace
This is a warning to others and super sad
Yeah people didn’t hear the part where the run was around 7am early and hot
Yup. I have a 10 miler on Sunday. It’s suppose to be 74 degrees, but since we start @ 6:30 am, it will be in the mid-60’s.
Maybe they shouldn't allow marathons in heat waves?
Is it just me that feeels a lot of tik tok stars die young
Yes, I was just thinking that! Quite a few this year alone.
😂😂😂😂 conspiracy theorist nitpicking
Yeah, seems strange. It only seemed to be happening so much within the past 3yrs. I wonder why just within the 3 yrs? What was different ? 🤔
@@outofthewildernesschannel lol you all are being too funny.
How come you don’t say anything about the deaths of anyone who isn’t an influencer/celebrity/athlete?
I’m sure your conspiracy theories and whatnot apply to regular folk who aren’t on tv or the internet.
@@outofthewildernesschannel The difference is the reach of Tik Tok and more people creating content on social media.
Before social media, this guy would have just been another nobody who passed away
This is crazy, this type of intense heat in California and in September???
Yup. It got up to 112. We were miserable for about 10 days or so. I could not sleep at night due to the heat (no a/c).
September is the hottest in California.
He crossed the finish line at 7am. Was not extremely hot at that time. He had something else going on.
@@sociald4515 , it was still pretty hot by that time.
@kaleimaile upper 70's at 7am. No it wasn't that hot at that time.
Having a random session of passing out is a warning sign of cardiac issues. His body was telling him something was wrong with his cardiovascular system and he unfortunately ignored it. My bet is he would have died whether racing or not. Something was not right with his heart.
May he rest in peace. His intuition was right.
disney does not give a shit, keeping a marathon in this hot weather
Praying for his family and friends and fans 🙏🙏🙏🙏
May he rest in peace. 🙏🏼🕊️👼🪽 Life is too short. You never know. 💔
If he had covid at all before this could really contribute. Urge people to look up the peoples cdc for accurate information about the effects of long covid and multiple minor reinfections.
Too many tragic deaths of young healthy people may be connected to this plague.
I agree with you I am also a sufferer of long covid and I had covid in March 2020! I went through all the symptoms and more and now I sufferer from so many health issues and my heart and high blood pressure is the main ones. The constant fatigue and migraines is another one. I do less now days too bcus I consider myself at health risk.
@angie-jo1mn
I apologize.
Did you take the jab and boosters?
@antoinettebranellec5374 Sorry for the late reply. As I just saw this message, TH-cam notifications for me are sometimes late even though I have TH-cam Premium and only saw this bcus I got alert that someone 'liked' my comment.
The very first time I decided to get my Covid shots was in October 2021 and got the( 2 dose) then with that the next day after the left side of my arm was swollen and in pain for like 3 days and a hard and painful lump formed on the left side of my breast was so painful I could barely sleep at the time anways got over that and that same year was when everything with my health was popping up one by one. I decided on 2022 to get the shot again bcus by this point I was aware of the health stuff that was going on with me so said I need to get the shot bcus if I get Covid again this time I will probably die from it bcu of my heart and high blood pressure issues but that time nothing happened to my arms nor breast lol. By 2023, I made an appointment online with CVS, and I had to cancel that appointment bcus my kid was home sick and didn't go to school, so I rescheduled it. Again, that new appointment I had to cancel again bcus my other son was home sick from school too! So then I had another NEW appointment and had to cancel that (3rd time rescheduled) appointment bcus of another reason that I don't remember why and I told myself that bcus it was 3x of me scheduling and resceduling this Covid vaccination appointment that I took that as a sign from God and I never did end up getting any shot at all and only went with the flu shot eventually. Long story short.
Bro why are we losing everyone? We already lost a legend James Earl Jones yesterday😢
James earl Jones was 93, sad but predictable
This is so sad to hear about Caleb, RIP Caleb 🙏 you will be missed 😢
Rip sweet soul.
I’m so deeply saddened about this. Caleb was well known in this Disney community. He liked my videos, replied to comments, and was always involved with anyone who followed him that loved Disney and travel. Rest in peace Caleb.
I wish he would have listened to his body RIP
I am so sorry❤
This is so sad. Heat is no joke.
Did he agree to the Disney+ terms and conditions before
Please, people, listen to your body. If you feel like something is wrong do not ignore it. He had so much more life in him and sadly he is no longer with us. Although he went too soon
he passed on somewhere he loved.
dont run in the heat!!!
I always said that it wasn’t smart for DL to bring back their race in Sept. Last time, they had to cut the race @ a certain mile due to the heat. I will never do another DL race in Sept (unless persuaded by a medal), but as I get older, I care more about my health than racing anymore.
Two months ago, I ran a 5K in Reston, Virginia for Independence Day. I knew it'd be hot, but I didn't know how hot it was compared to living in Southern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida. It was actually pretty humid out that day. Thankfully, I made it across the finish line and without signs of a heat injury since I had hydrated days prior to the race.
This is so sad ;( I find myself often enjoying old Alohomora episodes, and now it will be really hard to hear him and not think about him not existing anymore...
So sorry to hear that
I'm so sorry, and what's scary is that he was so healthy & youthful.
If you passed out due to heat exhaustion walking the dog, you still go run a half marathon?? Seriously?
It wasn’t hot 5am to 7 am in Anaheim, maybe he ran faster than he should have? 13 miles in two hours 🤷🏼♀️
Not trying to be facetious with this comment, but does anyone know whether or not he was jabbed?
Heat stroke?
I’m honestly surprised more people didn’t die or get seriously ill during this marathon!
srry to hear that my prayers are for him n his family
He was a fool, let this be a lesson to all of us
he went on cardiac arrest, not sure why there's that cliffhanger if "he played a role in his" ...
My prayers and deepest condolences for his family in loved ones ❤️🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽 May he rest in heavenly peace ❤️🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
So very sad condolences to his family during this very sad time 😢
There’s a good amount of folks blaming him as an individual and we can always be more aware to take precautions and listen to our bodies warning signs
Aaaand one of the biggest companies in the world should know to not host a race in a heatwave. Half and full marathons are becoming more popular and we know people won’t slow down, rest, or not participate because we’re actively taught not to stop in American culture. He may be the only one who passed and I guarantee hundreds (if not a few thousand) more got sick from heat exhaustion or heat related things post race.
vaxxed
Why are Marathon organizers & Participants/Runners so Reckless🤦🏾🤦🏾🙆🏿🙆🏿!!! Re-schedule for late September/October when the weather is a bit cooler 😔😔😔!!! He probably had some Pre-existing conditions; on top of Dehydration from running 🏃♂️ during A heat wave !!!
Marathon was at 4 am he finished around 7 am. Wasn’t that hot at that time, he probably had an underlying health condition and ignored the signs his body was giving him even the day before
Omg 😱 R i p
It’s prob not the heat. 7am + possible history of cardiac issues.
Who an organizes a running marathon during the Summer in SoCal???
@azulaneptune it started at 5am and ended at 7am. Wasn't even that hot yet. Something else had to be going on with him.
@@sociald4515 That’s interesting. He must’ve had sensitive issues with his heart/lungs.
So youre saying theres no marathons in the texas summer when its hotter than socal and humid?
He made a choice. It was a stupid choice. And he paid for it.
Crazy...and he finished the race
“Tiktoker” “social media star” 😂
I agree ☝️ Disney should have cancelled the marathon and rescheduled to protect the health of people. It was very irresponsible to have it during the hottest week of the year.
Those type of events are not for no athletes doesn’t matter how strong you are runner have trained for years for those races
When does common sense kick in??
Runners have died in cooler t so this could be more related to his speed more than the heat. He ran a sub 2 hour half marathon. That’s about a 9 minute mile. That’s fast. Runners wear a heart monitor for a reason. If your bpm is too high you need to slow down. Near the finish line is where most heart attacks happen regardless of the temperature.
I did 13 miles in 1:30😳 yess I have issues now too

Disney if them behind it, should be held accountable, shamed for even playing part for having marathon in this level of heat.
