LOW COST LUXURY: The NEW FlyDubai Business Class

- Today I’m trying out the new FlyDubai business class on my way to the UAE. I’m really interested to try this product as it’s a totally new airline for me. Given their competitive price point, and stellar looking business product, could this be the best budget business class?
I’m starting out of Bucharest international airport, as unfortunately FlyDubai doesn’t fly to London just yet. I have a rather tight connection after my British Airways flight from LHR so the race is on... or else i'll be having in Romania!
As in all my trip reports, I’ll be looking at the overall product comparing to the competition. Taking into account the hard and soft product. Most interestingly to me, are that Fly Dubai offers a fully flat bed, which could potentially rival the Emirates Business Class proposition. More so, I’m intrigued to try the food, drink and what amenities will be available. As always let me know what you think down below and what airlines you’d like to see next?

For those that don’t know fly Dubai is the sister company to emirates as they fly into airports emirates wide body aircraft can’t land in and great video as always !
Bucharest Airport can nicely accommodate a Boeing 777 from Emirates Airlines. Demand is another thing.
Its not where emirates widebody cant land, its were demand does not warrant a widebody service
At Entebbe we have emirates and fly dubai and they are just 3hrs apart.

Flydubai and Singapore airlines have the two best max lie flat seat business classes for sure

As always a very detailed review. Went Dubai recently and assumed they are a budget airline. But guess you have proven otherwise. I really look forward to the Tap video to come out! Once again, keep up the great work!

Really love how you do diffrent staple things that the others don’t do! The kicking the timbs off is a classic example all that’s needed is some bright jazzy socks that will make your feet stand out!

It's not the airlines, it's us the travelers that are the problem here. Look how we treated Virgin America. We had everything we wanted but refused to embrace it when someone gave it to us.
Looking forward to your TAP video! I had my own terrible TAP-Lisbon transfer last month. So frustrating due to a total lack of efficiency and customer service from both the airport and TAP.

Great video! Would be great to add in the info about the cost of the flights / use of air miles etc though. It would add some worthwhile context to the review and indeed help to establish expectations of the product. Take care 🙌🏽

Maaaaan Trek Trendy, I so avoid these self transfers, its all too nerve racking! Well done and good review of FD. I not infrequently travel FD from Krakow to Dubai, if the new aircraft are flying this route,, it will be a bonus!
I did few routes with exact same lay out. Fortunately in business. Not bad at all value/money ,decent welcome drink(champagne,don't remember name, but surprising) very narrow to get in or out! But prior to Max issues(yes, I was very lucky)! But now? No, thank you!
I just got back from dubai to tehran. Flydubai is the best airline ive ever flown so far. I litterally have my boarding pass right here on my table

Thanks for watching glad you like the video. Both airlines operate quite different routes and business models and I think they have their own merits. JetBlue does have the upper hand though as they have the addition of a door at the throne seats
@@TrektrendyTrek Trendy, I got a question for you: Is Dubai + Its airport + Emirates (the airline) still expanding after Expo 2020 ended 2 years ago at the same speed or slower speed or not expanding a lot anymore in your opinion?
Why spend millions on lie flat seats on narrow bodies when most of the flights they operate are 3 hours or shorter

Fly Dubai before pandemic on a 5 and 1/2 hr flt to S Asia. Definitely no frill. Economy even water and coffee had a charge. But crew were pleasant, helpful and polite - and we got there safely.
Nice :-) I look forward so much to be able to fly freely again.

This business class cabin is VERY similar to the Aer Lingus Business class on the A330. I think the aer lingus design was out before this product so they might have borrowed a few ideas.🤔🤔

Hey @Trek Trendy. Me and my dad were forced to make a 20 minute layover cross terminal once… it was actually more like a 15 minute dash cross terminal. We made it with 5 min to spare. (Layover was in Denver, Colorado). Plane was a bit late, and that was probably the only reason me and my dad actually made it home. (We only found out about the layover because of recedualed flights that we were made aware of 7 hours after we missed the rescheduled flight.

Perfect. 😁😁 Another great video and that FlyDubai product looks like it's worth considering if flying to Dubai avoiding Emirates mainline if it's available in your area.

I almost booked Tap from Chicago to London recently. Thankfully I had heard multiple horror stories and thought better of it. My husband is British and we often fly to London to visit his parents in England, and his sister in Scotland.
Tap is fine, most airlines are.

Thankyou for the insight always enjoy the content unfortunately i wont fly any airline operating the 737 max i also stayed away from airlines that flew the dc10 when in service. However keep the content the same not all flyers are as paranoid as me.

I was thinking the same but the 737 MAX has undergone so much work since the early crashes that it probably is safer than most. Given the choice between two airlines going to the same destination I would probably try to avoid the one flying the MAX. Given no such choice I'd fly in it.
@@rais1953 there is always a choice i have been trying t fly in the black box that always survived. Seriously though we all have a choice i just do not want things to detract from my enjoyment having flown millions of miles now i have my favourite planes the 737 has never been popular with me i prefer the a320 that is just a personal choice for short haul. @@rais1953 it's all very well to not want to fly it but as someone who has worked operations flight control for major international airline's, often the aircraft is switched last minute for s variety of reasons. You can easily show up and the aircraft you booked is not the one waiting for you. The only option is to avoid all airlines using this aircraft

This looks quite similar to the layout on JetBlue's Classic Mint product
I am a bit woried about your experience with TAP air Portugal as i am portugese and i like to see portugese companies represented well. I flew with them a few times and never had a complaint al though it has been many years.

They fixed the issue. Training is updated and the software was altered.

I flew fly Dubai from Kolkata to Dubai and back considering the narrow bodies jets it felt like the flights were really old the in flight entertainment didn't work and also the most coldest cabin crew I have ever seen. Even the meals provided were in small rectangular boxes and also on the return flight they ran out of water for the last 3hrs in a 5 and half hour flight. Not at all pleasant but I hope they improve.

Looks like Fly Dubai is similar to JetBlue's Mint. One of these days I'm going to "try it"....just need to get myself to LA or SFO...haha, as JetBlue's DFW options are BOS and JFK.
I know, that has nothing to do with Fly Dubai....but I highly doubt I'll be heading to Dubai or anywhere else they fly anytime soon.

Great trip report. I don’t know why they use this biz seats. Anyone talk can’t fit in those seats in the lie flat position, Austrian and Swiss have these as well and they are awful. Half your body is in a coffin and you can’t move around. I checked flights and in some instances Fly Dubai was almost double Turkish and more than Qatar, not low cost. I would rather go to IST and fly the rest of the way on TK’s A350. Thanks for posting!

I think flydubai is more than low cost airline with inflight entertainment, meal service, flat bed & even lounge access privilege. One more thing whether flydubai offer wifi access onboard?
How tall are you? That foot cubby worries me as I'm 6'5" with a US size 15 shoe - will I be able to stretch out and is there room for both feet?

I was once doing a tight transfer from MIA>LDN>Oslo and was about to miss my transfer in London. By some stroke of luck though, there was a bee in the cabin and allowed me to get in on time. I am forever thankful to that bee
