You saved me so many times on repairing my Rf900r, one question though, my fuel level indicator doesn't turn on , the bulb is working when I turn on the ignition and I have replaced the fuel gage Assy under the tank and I still get nothing when I'm low on fuel, would love your help on this one brother and appricate you so much!

    Thanks for some really nice videos. I always wondered if it was possible to fit a 6-speed gearbox in the RF900. Now I know :-) Any reason for not using "paper" gaskets? Is the gasket you use better?

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Paper gasket will do ok but people say that in terms of longevity factory metal gasket will out live it.

    • @Molsen124
      @Molsen124 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Adikxx yes for the head gasket metal is better but you use liquid gasket on all parts when you assemble. If liquid gasket is bewtter I'll start using that instead. Paper gaskets can be quite expensive in the long run. How mush did the rpm decrease with the 6th gear compared to the old gearbox? Thanks again!!

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Molsen124 i used liquid sealant only on clean flange surfaces like between crankcases because you can't use gaskets there.
      6 speed box has shorter ratios throughout. Few hundred rpm would be the difference

      I simply removed the 1074cc engine to install the newly rebuilt 937cc engine which had 6 speed gearbox inside. A year later i removed that 937cc engine again and built 1146cc engine still keeping the 6 speed gearbox in it. That project was also fully filmed and uploaded on my channel. The 1074cc engine sleeps in my shed under the blanket as a spare engine now.

    hello, I tried to do this exchange swap on my 1100w. but it is not possible because the clutch system is different. the primary axis is 1.5cm longer than the primary axis of the 750w. it is also not possible to change only the gears the splines of the axles are different. a pity, engine open and disappointed.

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. I'm not sure if i understood correctly but i'll answer anyway. Off course gsxr750w has a different type of clutch , it uses cable to operate it where rf900 and gsxr 1100w use hydraulic actuation. Gsxr1100w has the same clutch type as early version of rf900(1994 model). Later engines from rf900 had revised clutch basket(like the one in my video) but it doesn't matter as conversion can be done on both types of clutch baskets. I showed in my videos what needs to be done on later type of clutch basket but i know a guy who did it on the early type of clutch basket(the one gsxr 1100w uses).
      If i understood correctly by saying "primary axis" you mean gearbox drive shaft? That shaft will be a bit longer in your gsxr1100. It was also longer in my case.
      It's also worth mentioning that gsxr750w had various changes made to it's gearbox over the years. 92 year of gsxr750w transmission will have diffetences compared to later models so bare that in mind. In other words the easiest way is to get RF600 tranny or 1992 gsxr750 tranny as those are the same. If you need more info get in touch.

      @@Adikxx sorry about my English. I didn't know about this change in clutch baskets. I bought a gearbox for the Gsxr 750 w year 1995. today when I disassembled my engine I noticed that the primary transmission shaft of the gsxr1100w is 1.5 cm longer than the shaft of the gsxr750w year 1995. I understood about the drive difference of the 1100 is hydraulic and 750w is cable. When I spoke to you the first time, I understood that the only difference would be through hole in the primary driveshaft. I won't be able to complete the project. in Brazil it is very difficult to find parts for these older bikes. Today I realized that I have serious problems with my crankshaft. the bearing shells are crumbling. thanks for your videos. are helping me a lot.

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rafasangi If crankshaft is damaged then it would be very expensive to get it all fixed. Probably best to just get another good engine instead of trying to repair. Sorry to see this brother :(

      @@Adikxx good night adikxx83. alright? I was lucky it didn't damage my crankshaft. but I had major damage to the bearing bearings! I think I have a lubrication problem. do you know how i can test the oil pump outside the engine? In the service manual it says not to disassemble the oil pump. I turned the oil pump shaft by hand and found it a little heavy to turn. thank you my friend !! obs: how was your bike with 6 speed gearbox?

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rafasangi Hi. From what i remember my oil pump also had little resistance when i tried to turn it. You can take it apart but you'd need to replace all rubber components in it not to risk leaks and loss of oil pressure. To be honest with you those oil pumps are rather good and i didn't hear of them failing so your bearings wear could be caused by something else. It's enough to run the engine low on oil for some time and that could cause destruction of crank and bearings. It could also be dirt in oil causing that or wrong oil viscosity. If your crank is fine you can just replace the worn bearings but make sure you order correct size.
      RF900 with 6 speed box is all good, i did few hundred miles on it and i'm chuffed with the end result but i already start thinking about some new project :) Time will show. Just in case i pasted a link to oil pump on Ebay in USA but again i wouldn't be blaming the pump, they rarely fail : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255190387861?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item3b6a884c95:g:Q54AAOSwlQhhciA6&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACoPYe5NmHp%252B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsSg3Ye8yTWgOW7pmE1t838duVn1XlulSMDHMp%252B8FW09knSvsVuKn4ur4aN6MJIFXW2kZPQCKpB%252FzoQTfDBYH0r5ulL2R5mMC4tqtOalT1gz7oxg7fgA1u45xMafOBjLkmbRzONPhy173gQsDbwYvO9HX1AritHPq3YNUZ2g%252B%252BHXR1Jzw%252B8vQAoW6H8QggwshaFXNp9HSJNYODEQOTf%252FEAortJ26KMr74wz6%252FOZpD%252FlVPFEbc%252B58UdmIAsyCXE5vEc8Onre8yj6wNZPghBjHdv2zVqd2%252B59tkVtJac0084F5ce9h%252FoSB9rSpNK8GUljlpY5UR8l00A9C30d2S8AddB0vw0KSy8NEJtAa6ja%252BDZBM8PfEa8Wz0QIZsJSG%252BT7IC8DjXSqbhsV2WciVc1JnHfYiN%252F0ka%252Bv7dawd%252F%252FVst8m%252BaX%252FF%252FC9h6fmGjwWUTdEXm6Fg0BMZFrQJ8pUEHIFvJLS2sGp422m9BiBeIarxupRhyHuRJ8%252FGvb%252Bh24huy9xKdemaovuL9FGimAi4Z%252BAUzN6p%252BHWNfpvnuBIenXVch2Gj%252Fj0U2%252FSU4EXgP1N%252FHIxwk6AKUQVy1uPPjR%252BX334%252BpA%252B4sI97aej%252F3sv7n8TkqRC5HDLqcpRHcfRTLQvvoKUAoei9OxOF07YgWzMpC%252Bk5G%252FQp3pyTo%252Fdh9QtzXW5iA%252BFk16F1Rd%252BYrg6PuLOohDFmJSgcuFXyYWJhRWGngCHZMxrQ%252BX%252BhjU1LGLD639T%252BzATZgyT%252FfmEViKY18I4J%252BISdglMI7BaALDzV1rFKp4ERJ5UH6RL5%252Ft9beTqfdNpu8iIJ6PS4n%252FYZRfvTHYEjOkVm4orlCri%252Bt9uUD%252F63PM5fUjx8w%253D%253D%7Cclp%3A2334524%7Ctkp%3ABFBMhuLXhPFf

    My only comment is that you have added a gear but lost gear ratio, I’ve done the maths and you’re going to be 12mph slower at top end in 6th compared to top end in 5th of original gearbox and slower everywhere else too, if the ratios made sense then I’d love a 6th gear but the ratios don’t add up to give you a faster smoother ride :( so sad when I did the maths and your 5th and 6th gear are now essentially what your old 4th gear was like
    Love your videos but this is a bad idea
