You ever feel like you were born in the wrong era? I believe you would absolutely been crazy about the 80's. So many great musical artists of the time and something for everyone.
Ahh 'Little Red Corvette', my first Prince song that I ever heard.
I agree the music video is to short, the album version is only two minutes longer.
Tidbit: They are dressed as the characters of the album cover.
Both these songs are lit and both were obviously hit songs.
Oh FYI some Prince songs could be a little risqué and suggestive

The "Parental Advisory" sticker on albums and CD's, was because of Prince and his song'Darling Nikki'. Social activist Tipper Gore, wife of former VP Al Gore, created a committee that sought to put label warnings on covers and soon after the Senate had hearings and Tipper gave testimony. I thought it was pretty funny that one little Prince song caused such a stir.
What started it all was Tipper's 11yr old daughter at the time, asked her mother "Mom, what's masturbating?" That was so funny at the time.

@celineophile I was a big MJ fan in the 80's until July 1984 and I heard the song When Doves Cry on the Radio. Went to watch the Movie Purple Rain and was hooked from that point onward. MJ definitely sold more albums and was more popular worldwide, but Prince did do one thing in the summer of 84 that MJ never did, and that is to have the Number 1 Album Purple Rain, the number 1 Song When Doves Cry and the number 1 Movie Purple Rain all at the same time. The only other artists to accomplished this was the Beatles and Elvis. If you want to immerse yourself in Prince I recommend watching the Movie if you haven't already done so and maybe do a reaction video to it.

Full respect to MJ, but they should not be compared. They are completely different, and it causes injustice to Prince. One was a great singer and dancer, the other was that too but also the greatest artist of the 20th century.

I love so much to see people way younger than I am having the fun of their life with songst that I know for ages.
No matter how old we are, no matter were on earth we live, we can bond through music and this is wonderful.
And especially, his music, it's so diverse, so complex, so funny, so catchy, so everything that you can always find a song to match your mood.
And yes.. on my deathbed I will still say that this man had the most gorgeous pair of eyes and exquisite facial features that I've ever seen.
I can see you're already into Prince! Going down the purple rabbit hole is always fun to watch. Looking forward to more Prince!

I was fortunate to grow up with Prince, miss him terribly! Very talented man, my one of my favorites is "The Cross". U have to do it live in Dortmund...sooo good! And he's so gorgeous!! Give it a go on your journey down the rabbit hole 💜
New sub! Huge Prince fan/fam from way back. Happily saw him 5 times. It's funny when you spot another Prince fan. For example, I visited a client today, and in the neighborhood was a house painted purple, and the mail box was painted like his cloud suit in this video. I had to stop and tell the owners how cool their "Prince house" was. They seemed pleased someone noticed.
Check out the song/video "America". Its live. In it not only does he play guitar he performd a drum solo at tge end.

Impossible to pick a favorite Prince song. Raspberry Beret is Little Corvette is a Prince classic. Try POP LIFE. You'll like that one. 💯 Can't wait for you to react to 1999!

@Hannah the 1999 album a double album is my 2nd favorite tied with Purple rain *Sign of the Times was my favorite and when Prince was at the height of his powers) but this was a very fun double bill of songs to see someone so young appreciate. Fun watch, fun react. The Around the world album was VERY heavily influenced by the Beatles (listen to the song Paisley park off that album)
in the song. Raspberry beret, Prince is a virgin, and loses it to this women in the beret. he's vulnerable in the song, and in most of his songs on this matter he is the vulnerable one. p.s i've seen that cloud suit in person, it's amazing

Haha, you might as well be me in high school when this song came out! Or actually, me in middle school when his first album came out! We knew he was special in '79 and with every album that came out after that. I had them all on vinyl up up to Purple Rain, then went to tapes. Saw the Purple Rain tour twice!!! Yes, we were all screaming & asking, 'What is happening to me?" 🤣 Girl next to me at one of the concerts was crying so hard she could hardly breath, lol. Love to see the younger generation keeping the love for Prince alive!
