There were full hop/short hop off platform shine double jump mixups he used a lot on Pokemon Stadium to bait a reaction from Leffen's dash dance, for instance. He got some punishes off of it: empty land upsmash, fadeaway bair, falling upair (which whiffed, but led into uptilt - if he had naired leffen might've asdi down grabbed him on hit). Lovage played damn well, in a style Leffen wasn't prepared for at all.

But he's definitely been struggling a lot more since the return from the Visa ban to show that he still has it. I wouldn't be surprised if more players besides Plup rise above him in the rankings at the end of the year.

I think you're talking about shine turnarounds. You can turn your character while in shine so you're facing the other direction when you come out of it.
