  • Using shaped peyote stitch, Leslie shows you how to make a larger star for an earring, pendant or ornament. Increases and decreases create the star's characteristic shape.
Knowledge of peyote stitch is useful as this is not a beginner's project.
Materials: delica or seed beads, Miyuki or KO beading thread, size 10 beading needle.

These star projects are wonderful. It is hard to see what you are doing with those dark beads, though. Being able to see well what you are doing would help. I use all my concentration to try to put your words together with the steps. Side 2 is the tricky side because the step-ups seem to be in unusual places. You are a great teacher, though.

Thank you for this tutorial. However, I can't get it right after so many attempts. The colours are really dark and it's extremely difficult to see what is going on.
On the second side, the colour change is even more confusing. Maybe use 2 very light, different colours??
But thank you anyway - you are a good teacher

Thank you. I'm left-handed and always have to translate tutorials. I found the instructions to be easy to follow except for the step up to mirror row six on the second side. After a couple of tries I got it. I'll be making more of these for Christmas tree ornaments.

Loved this design, however I had no problems with first side, but after the first row on
the second side I was lost at the beginning of the rows. I tried several times even moving the video a few seconds at a time but no joy. I found it was very difficult sorting out bead colours from previous side. Perhaps just for the video it would have been better to use completely different colours?

Agree about the colours. It was very confusing. Maybe change the colours completely

Perhaps use lighter colours for the tutorial??

Educational but why have people asked you to clarify? Because you didn't use TWO DISTINCT SOLID colors! Astounded by your main color choice (which is actually several colors in a mix) and is the main source of confusion. You're a wonderful teacher but should you post more videos with the intent to teach in the future, please consider color choices more carefully. Having said all that, I greatly appreciate your sharing your knowledge.
