What a screw around, it used to just be a little reset button you could press with a thin screw driver. Thanks for explaining mate, will finally reset it today.

Great video have used this and your belt replacement video and have succeeded.
This only took me 40 minutes to complete if i could add to your video to help others would be to lower the steering wheel as low as possible, helps getting the top part of the dash and the instrument out alot easier, no brainer i know but i totally forgot i could lower the wheel. Cheers and thankyou

One note for guys doing this job. On the EFI model the screw is in the centre of the rear of the console. Where it looks like two pads together. One scew hole will be vacant. Cheers all.

Yeah I've got the efi engine, there's no earth wire on my panel. Where exactly is the correct screw? I wish we could post pictures in the comments.

Will this work for an 1984 Toyota 2.4Liter diesel in the USA also? My dash light is on also, but I changed it already.

This is worth its weight in gold. All that shit just to get the indicator off. I wish Toyo had a rethink on this design.

You know, I wonder if it's possible to get to the screw with a borescope, as in probing behind the dash without removing it using a borescope. I've been putting off doing mine and its been on for a year now. I'll check this out further.

Before seeing this, all I did differently was to remove the T belt light globe, it will never go back on that way.

My LN167 dash is completely dead after my alternator failed. I replaced alternator and all blown fuses but dash is still dead, and ideas?

Well after a wad of time I finaly attacked that T belt light. As I thought it was a bugger of a job.

This took longer than changing the belt

This worked for the first time the light came on, but now it's clicked over again (300k). Do I just take the screw completely out, or move it another hole along?
