    All look awesome but I think your mix with the yellow road lines is the best!

      Thanks, Kristian! I agree. I decided to use that mix in the full diorama video i just posted. It was definitely a fun project.

    This is awesome 👏 🤩. There are so many vehicles coming out and this project will just set the scene. I can just envision The Batman on the Batcycle on this asphalt display. Chef’s kiss!

      Thanks my friend! Yep, this can totally be used as a quick and simple base for any of the 1/6 vehicles being released next year. (Well …hopefully being released next year. 😂)

    A suggestion, a beginners video on your air brushing setup would be great! Yet to dive into that world, and can seem a little intimidating.

      @metamorphiccustoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Completely agree! I have to get around to making an intro to airbrushing video. Thanks for watching and for the suggestion!

    Thanks for the close up shots this time! Inspires me to get crafty later this year and start sourcing some of this stuff out. Always thought about getting a airbrush kit but never have, will have to do some research on them, figure out how to use them. Seems thats what is best to use to get the best paint effects.

      Thanks for watching! Yup definitely wanted to make sure to get the closer shot of the finished product this time. (Still need to get a macro lens for the future though.)
      And yeah, while you don’t need an Airbrush, it does makes things easier. I’ll be making an Intro to Airbrushing Episode in the Near Future.

    Is there a homemade alternative to mod podge?

    • @metamorphiccustoms
      @metamorphiccustoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, and thanks for watching!
      In short, no, not really. Mod Podge has a proprietary formula, which I believe has certain resin-like ingredients, and shrinks much less than PVA glue. (There's a reason its more expensive than PVA).
      Longer answer:
      There are plenty of online articles on craft & scrapbooking sites, which claim you can make your own Mod Podge by simply watering down standard PVA glue (e.g., Elmers glue). This works just fine for scrap-booking as its a thin application. However, I have tried and would not recommend this for making the texture mix I reference in my videos. The watered-down PVA glue shrinks much faster, and any "mix" you make with it could have poor adhesion. (After all...you're diluting the PVA glue.)
      Using straight (non-watered down) PVA glue instead of Mod Podge is also an option. While I think PVA glue is awesome for use in Dioramas, I do not like using it to create texture mixes. I find PVA glue will, again, shrink and can lead to unwanted cracks on the surface texture.

    what is the name of the device you are using burning

    • @metamorphiccustoms
      @metamorphiccustoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In this particular video I don't believe I used a burning tool. But in my other related video, I used an old soldering iron to burn the XPS foam. You can also apply paint thinner directly on the XPS to slowly melt it. However, please remember when burning/ melting XPS foam, always do it in a well ventilated area and wear a mask/respirator.
