    The Wilkinson sounds good enough for me..I have a few brand new Carvin M22 pickups I have never even opened..My Carvin guitar still has the M22 neck and bridge pickups in it from the factory. Sounds great.

    Hi. I paused about 2 minutes in to write this comment. I took a journey similar to yours 3 years ago, when I got a Jackson JS22 DKA Dinky in Natural Oil. I got that color for the body wood (nyatoh), which I hadn't had before, plus it looked cool. I hope your Jackson got the same cheap ceramic humbuckers that came in mine, because they were so good that I almost kept them. I did replace them with a generic humbucker set chosen because its DC resistance spec nearly matched those of the Jackson pickups AND they were based on Alnico 2(!) magnets. Modern meets vintage in one pickup set. I have yet to regret it. I look forward to seeing the rest of your video, and whatever conclusion you reach.👍

    Excellent demo! I have used Wilkinson pickups and will vouch for them. On my american stratocaster I have Dimarzio pickups.

    Really nice comparison video! I've been watching Scar My Guitar and he frequently uses Fleor pickups for modding really cheap guitars so it's great to see them matched up with other HBs.

    I wonder what the Epiphone Probuckers would have sounded like in this test ?? I'm trying to decide if I want to try the Probucker or Wilkinson in my Epiphone..I just found out about the Fleor but after this test I don't know 🤔

    Very good video, I'm suscribed.
    There is some black foam that people sell for aquiariums, I just put a slice under the pickups and problem solved. Is good to to correct pickup inclination and avoid unwanted vibrations.
    I learned it from bass players, they put foam under the pickups all the time

    Kevin, believe it or not, you just cleared something up for me. You may have heard that the late, great Eddie Van Halen favored single pickup guitars for decades because he didn't like having to re-adjust his amp settings when changing pickups. I never got that until now, because your experience might mirror his, thereby telling me what Eddie found so problematical. I'm getting it even more because I'm realizing now that many of my old favorite setting don't work well with my latest guitars; I have a hard time getting good clean tones because my rather metal-oriented pickups are so hot. Time to head back towards PAFs? There's a happy medium somewhere. Of course, I COULD just replace some of my settings for new ones created with these newer guitars in mind ... which would be cheaper!😎

      Hey you might want to check out those dimarzios i heard them in jazz boxes and in metal settings i am actually thinking about putting the single coil versions in my tele to get get a quieter sound and there very versatile lollar makes a nice set of imperials with different windings too, so you can get the best of both worlds. thanks for commenting i am glad this helped, have a wonderful day 🎸

      @@KWM1972 Alas, those DiMarzios just aren't for me. I'm 65 years old, I'm not playing out, I have 10 guitars and many of them will stand in place of my hotter guitars if I need them to. I'm just saying that I can't justify the expense of the DiMarzios; they're an indulgence, not an investment. A shorter way of say the same thing is: MATURITY SUCKS!😆

    I have experimented with a lot of pick-ups over the years. I have tried active, passive and economy as well. I have always came back to the tried and true for myself. Dimarzio Tone Zone with a PAF, Dimarzio Super 3 Distortion with a PAF or PAF Pro or Seymour Duncan JB with a 59. It's all based on your personal tastes.

    If you want great sounding pickups you need to get GFS pickups. They are under 35 bucks and the VEH sounds just as good as any JB or Super distortion at a fraction of the price.

      I love the bridge VEH in my XV-585. At 11.2k of 43awg wire, I'd put it at ~5H. Those other two ae a bit higher inductance.

      @sweezyjackson4935 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GCKelloch they have hotter pickups for sure like the SBS stuff. The VEH sounds just as good as the JB I used to have and the super distortion I used to have. GFS makes good stuff

      @GCKelloch 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sweezyjackson4935 A Dream 90 might be closer to a Super Distortion, although I think it has thicker wire. I prefer the VEH. I use a low capacitance cable to smooth and extend the high-end. It might sound a bit brittle with a higher C cable in a bright sounding guitar.
