Well I’ve seen different more dense applications that also work great . This way let’s too much tension on each one of the strips and results on having some unstick far too early
I’m an LPN going for my RN. You could apply pressure or even ice (vasoconstriction aka less blood flowing to the area) to stop the bleeding and then apply the steristrips. Cover with gauze and wrap. Soak the gauze and wrap with normal saline or wound spray to remove to avoid making it bleed when taking off.
I just remove the end piece and place it on one side of the wound, then remove the backing as I pull it gently across to the other side. The three strips are then perfectly lined up. I see no point in doing one at a time or using tweezers. This way is easier and more efficient.
I just busted my chin open and had to get it glued back together. I fell off of my scooter (max speed for it is 20 mph) and I have a huge road burn across my face, I injured my wrist and got a cut on my other hand, and I have a cut on my knee.
my Dr told me change it when they start to peel off. Also, she said I can shower with them. They can last like a few or more days. I have a UCSF Orthopedic Institute doctor, by the way.
Hey, I know you're watching this because you also got a cut and afraid of stitches, or just looking for cheaper alternatives. We got this bois, we'll all heal 🙌
Hello - we recommend you follow your physician's prescribed post-operative orders. If you need additional assistance, please reach out to our 3M Health Care Help Line at +1(800)-228-3957 between M-F 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. CST. Thanks!
Because nothing binds well there. You are better off cleaning it with saline then applying a petroleum based antibiotic as a protectant. If you are trying to bind it, well you'll need a suture, basically 6# fishing line or one of those natural dissolving alternatives.
My surgeon removed stitches from my thumb. Finger still not closed. Gave me steri strips & said to change daily if they get wet. Seems he told me wrong. Who’s right? Anyone?
Hello - When adhesion cannot be obtained or is compromised due to the presence of moisture, 3M Steri-Strips should be considered for changing. Follow up with your surgeon if your wound is not closing and/or you are unable to avoid getting your 3M Steri-Strips wet. For more information on the product itself you can follow this link here (copy + paste): s.3m.com/tupupd
Hi there - thank you for your comment. Per our indications for use: The incision/wound needs to be easily approximated. We would not recommend using 3M(TM) Steri-Strips(3M) Skin Closures on an incision that can not be easily approximated. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
Hi there! Thank you for your inquiry. We do not recommend using past the expiration dates. After a time, the adhesive does break down and is not as strong.
Is there a negative result from placing a large 1 across/over the wound after applying a few to keep it closed? Obviously in real life the wound can continue to bleed and isn't a 3D computer image. This video provides no information for how to manage the bleeding etc. Overall I would have to say that the video is rather useless and only provides 1 simple step of the instructions for dealing with the wound. It would be much more helpful to provide a proper medical video of what to do with the wound from the starting point of it freshly cut and bleeding to the after care of the wound(on a real person, not a graphic or 3D computer model).
I think it is more that you can't always wait to completely stop the bleeding, or you might not have quick clotting supplies. Healing by primary intention really restricts what you can do, as the wound must be bound in the first couple minutes.
If its a stab wound, there's a chance that it will open up. You can use this to close the wound first to make it more manageable. Then, apply direct pressure. Apply a 5x9 gauze over the wound then wrap it tightly with a conforming gauze.

You don't want the sticky side to get in the wound. That isn't sterile. Another cheaper solution is butterfly bandage: th-cam.com/video/K5Lsw4bsjrQ/w-d-xo.html
When you come to this video desperately needing to stop the gushing blood, but you leave here dancing the Electric Slide.
Strips are not gonna stop anything close to gushing blood
These are for cuts not got heavy bleeding wounds
Made me laugh at least, though doubt I'll be electric sliding anytime soon 😂
Hey now
That's funny haha
I respect that 🐢
When you don’t know enough basic first aid forcing you to resort to TH-cam
Thanks 3m your strips stopped my sliced finger from bleeding out 😅
I thought we were supposed to apply them in alternating directions (one from above and one from below etc)
oh my, this music. "I love applying steri-strips!"

I just found those in my medicine cabinet, I was wondering what those were
Will this stops the bleeding? If you have bleed even after this applied what would you do? Thanks

I think it has to do with not introducing infection or further risks. Maybe to keep distance and cleanliness
Lol 😂 true
Excelente video, me ha servido mucho para mi herida. Gracias !

How come there r no instructions for when the wound is between hair :/

I shaved the hair around the wound and it worked well.
This is a end of internet

lmao
in the Netherlands we call this "Hechtstrips"
arent steri strips not supposed to have direct contact to the wound? isnt it in this case touching the wound?
just tried it, the parts of the strip that are in contact with blood become slippery
@@panicattack8284 that’s why the area needs to be completely dry before applying these. You beed to stop the blood first.

I can't close my wound completely with this as it is quite shallow and wide. Will it still help even if it's not completely sealed?

Ik this is old but if steri strips can't hold the skin together then it needs stitches..
I have steri strip but expired Aug 2022. Can I still use it?
