Seated with Christ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 There is a lot of fearmongering everywhere you turn today-on the news, in the papers, via social media, and unfortunately, on Christian media as well. However, it is vital that we do not let fear take over our hearts. As believers, we have no business feeding on fear. If your mind is entangled with knots of anxiety, perhaps it’s time for you to examine your mental diet. What have you, consciously or unconsciously, been meditating on? Are you ingesting and believing everything you see in the news reports, or are you living by what the Lord Jesus has purchased for you at Calvary? To help you understand God’s heart for you regarding fear and your walking in His protection, I want to share with you a powerful key from today’s verse, the very first verse of Psalm 91, the prayer of protection. The Hebrew word for “dwell” is yashab, which means to sit down, to remain, or to settle. Notice that the very first thing that God wants you to do to enjoy His protection is to rest. His protection, peace, love, and other blessings flow in your life when you are in a place of rest. Let’s camp on the word dwell just a little more. Let’s meditate on what it means to rest or “sit down.” The Bible says that we are seated with Christ at God’s right hand (see Eph. 2:6, Heb. 1:3). The word “seated” is beautiful-it means that you are no longer standing and working. Under the old covenant, the priest had to offer the morning sacrifice at 9 a.m., and then remain standing for six hours until after the evening sacrifice at 3 p.m. Our Lord Jesus was crucified at 9 a.m. and He hung on the cross for six hours until He died at 3 p.m., thus fulfilling the type of both the morning and evening sacrifices (see Heb. 10:11-12). Because Jesus became the final sacrifice, the work of the priest is done and he no longer has to stand. Because our Lord cried, “It is finished!” at Calvary (John 19:30), we are today seated in Christ. We can dwell in the secret place of the Most High-a place of peace, safety, and security-and we can live fear-free because the blood of our Lord Jesus has paid for every blessing of protection in Psalm 91! Today, whether you are dealing with a difficult financial situation, a sleep disorder, or plagued by depressive or even suicidal thoughts, my desire is for you to discover a God who loves you, and whose strong hands of protection are over your entire life and over every area that concerns you. It’s All about God’s Love “Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” Luke 7:47 Her story is heartrending. In the Bible’s account, this woman is described as “a sinner” (Luke 7:37). Many believe that she was a prostitute. When she came to Jesus, He did not chase her away, humiliate her, or condemn her for her sins. He knew how guilt had been eating her up on the inside, and had compassion for her. As she neared Jesus, she began weeping. Then, she washed His feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair, and anointed them with the precious ointment that would have cost her an entire year’s wages. Without hesitation, she lavished it on Jesus’ feet and worshiped Him. In response, Jesus said that those who know and believe how abundantly God truly loves and has forgiven them will end up loving God very much. Simply put, those who have been forgiven much, love much. Those who have been forgiven little, love little. That’s why the emphasis of the new covenant is not about your love for God; it is about God’s love for you. Do you see that your love for God in the new covenant is birthed out of a genuine and authentic relationship with Him? It is not a groveling display that is birthed out of the fear of punishment or religious obligation. Under grace, we are able to love God because He first loved us. That is why people under grace become the holiest people you will ever meet. Their holiness flows out of their love relationship with Jesus! They have experienced His unconditional love in an intimate and personal way that transforms them. They just want to live lives that glorify and honor the name of Jesus. Friend, we have all been forgiven much, but many don’t know and don’t believe this. Give up on trying to overcome your own failings, mistakes, addictions, and bondages, imagining that God requires this of you before you can come before Him. When you fail, come to Jesus with boldness and confidence as this woman did. Feel free to weep in His sweet presence and simply worship Him. Pour out everything that is on your heart to Him. Don’t worry, He will not heap more guilt and condemnation upon you. He will remind you of the cross and say, “Your sins are already forgiven. I have already paid the price for your sins at Calvary. Rest in My forgiveness and love for you.”
I’m wondering if you can pray with me! I know I’m supposed to be in the social media space helping single mothers. I’m a worship leader at my church and I’ve been doing that for over a decade and I’ve been a single mom for about 19 years and God had truly blessed me. I’m so afraid that it’s not going to look right........just lots of fears about stepping out . That’s something I’ve been struggling with. I look up to you and admire what you do here on your channel! Thank you! ❤️
THE GREATER THE ENEMIES, THE GREATER THE SPOILS. “And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."” - Exodus 14:13-14 NKJV “Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord” - When Moses brought the people of Israel before the Red Sea with the armies of Pharaoh pursuing them, Moses urged them to simply stand still because they would see the salvation of the Lord. “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace” - Child of God, hold your peace and stand still in the face of the battle, whether it is a disease, debt, or addiction. The One who loves you and cares for you, who gave His life for you, is fighting for you. GOD MUST GET ALL THE GLORY. IF GOD IS TO GET ALL THE GLORY, YOU REST AND LET GOD DO ALL THE WORK.God will feed, strengthen, and provide for you in every situation Pastor Prince shares two illustrations of how God always feeds and provides for us in every situation. If Jesus places a demand on you, He will always feed you and supply the demand first. “So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs."” - John 21:15 NKJV In John 21:1-17, after a long night of unsuccessful fishing, the disciples finally caught a huge catch in the morning after listening to Jesus’ advice. When they returned to the shore, Jesus had prepared breakfast for them. It was only after breakfast, after the disciples had eaten, that Jesus asked Peter to feed His lambs and care for them.In John 6:1-20, the disciples were caught in a storm while rowing across the Lake of Galilee. Just before this, Jesus had miraculously fed the 5,000, with 12 baskets full of leftovers for his disciples. Before the storm, the Lord feeds you. During the storm, He’ll feed you too. When you feed, He fights for you. Feeding is fighting. Feeding is possessing all His promises in your life. Remember this: When you hold your peace, God fights for you. When you fight, God holds His peace. Everything inside you will say, “You’ve got to fight!” but hold your peace. The Lord is fighting for you. “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” - Hebrews 4:11 KJV YOUR PLACE IS NOT TO FIGHT. THE ONLY LABOR ON YOUR PART IS TO LABOR TO ENTER INTO HIS REST. Feed on the Word of God and possess His promises for you step by step! Closing Prayer “God who knows the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning, God who knows all the months of this year and the weeks and the days, God who knows all the devices of the enemy-this same God keeps you and protects you, keeps you from all evil, protects you and your loved ones from every danger, harm, accident, and tragedy, protects you from the powers of darkness and terror. This wonderful God who kept the children of Israel throughout the wilderness, who brought them into the promised land, who defeated their enemies-this same God defeats all your enemies. The battle is His. Today, Father, we make a commitment to You that whatever troubles come our way, Lord, we will see it as Your battle. We’ll take our hands off. It’s Your battle, not ours. Thank You, Father God, in Jesus’ name, Amen.” Your Debt Has Been Paid Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:19-22 For decades upon decades, God has been portrayed as an angry God by the devil, and unfortunately, many Bible teachers have unwittingly helped him by painting a picture of a wrathful God. This depiction of God is an error. We are now under the new covenant, and you will not be able to find a single New Testament scripture that says God is angry with believers because of their sins. You would have to go into the Old Testament to look for verses that speak of God’s anger at the sins of His people. Does God not being angry with you mean that there is no place for God’s correction in our lives? Is there correction and wise guidance that come by the Word of God in the new covenant of grace? Absolutely. But as for His anger toward you and your sins, all that has been settled at the cross. I guarantee you, when you come into Jesus’ sweet presence with all your challenges, failings, and struggles, He is not going to roar at you. He is going to love you into wholeness and set you on a trajectory of freedom from all your fears, guilt, and addictions. Jesus is the end of all your struggles! Because God’s perfect love is the answer to overcoming the struggles in your life, the devil is doing everything he can to alienate and cut you off from this love. He knows that as long as the debt of sin is on your conscience, you will avoid God because you think that God is mad at you. The beautiful thing about Jesus is that He not only paid the sin debt of your entire life, He overpaid it. Unlike the high priests of the Old Testament, He didn’t offer the blood of bulls and goats to pay for your sins. This High Priest paid for your sins with His own perfect and sinless blood. God didn’t go soft on sin under grace! No way. He offered His only begotten Son, Jesus, who is an absolute overpayment for your sins. It’s as if you owed a debt of a million dollars, but Jesus paid a billion dollars to settle that debt. The truth is, if you knew who Jesus is and the value of the Son of God, you would know that His payment at the cross was worth more than a billion dollars. It’s a payment that has wiped out your entire life’s sins-past, present, and future-once and for all! No longer is there a chasm of sin separating you and God. It has been bridged by the bloodstained cross.
