Hey Amber! Thank you for finding another hero to interview. When you're done with each interview, it would be fun to give these heroes a cape. She has a great education to start and run a nonprofit. Many of us don't have great training, like Amy.

Instead of taking classes, you need to volunteer and intern at as many nonprofit as you can, because when the rubber meets the road, that’s where you learn not in the classroom you learn in the trenches.

Nothing beats real world experience for sure! Personally, I found a mix of class / expert learning and on the ground practice was perfect.

can we talk about inkind and donations from providers like course creators. Are all of those inkind too? what benefits are in inkind donations for companies no matter how small because in a nonprofit summit I said something like how can they get hired but paid during taxes. They was like I dont know what you are talking about but that's because I believed that's how it worked with donations. I thought charity services donated got tax benefits like being paid during tax time with the invoice we give them.

I think it depends how it's structured; volunteer time is not considered tax deductible.

@@AmberMelanieSmith yes I finally had to ask chatgpt and found that a lot that I thought was wrong. Courses may one day become deductible since it's so many now and going up since that rule was first made

Recruiting skilled volunteers is a good option, yes! If you're looking for contractors and have a budget, there are numerous small businesses that provide such services.
