- Purchased brand new, this 2007 FJ Cruiser has been customized and tweaked to create one of a kind features around every corner.
Chuck's first trip in this rig was to Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah, which inspired him to build out the inside for more comfort and organization while out on adventures.
There are so many impressive features-- custom-built drawers, a customizable stowaway kitchen, a rooftop tent, awning, and so much more.
We can't wait to see what Chuck builds for this rig next!

This is the best video on a man and his truck. Its honest and pure, he's not trying to sell you anything. He's just proud of his work, and he should be.
That’s one cool cat right there!
Indeed!
I think Chuck definitely down played the amount of time and effort he put into this. The colour matched drawers, the perfect fitment on the runners, the solution for the unstable pullout table, the list goes on. I would love to know how he made the drawers so big with drawer sliders like that. It’s a perfect fit, how is that possible?! Chuck, you are a genius. I hope I can get over to overland expo in the coming years. Mark, from North Australia 🇦🇺
Didn't he do such a great job? We agree!
So many builds we see on TH-cam seem to be driven by one’s ego. 99% useless stuff, so it’s refreshing to see a build driven by passion and adventure. I enjoyed every minute of this story.
What a clean, smart and functional build! 👏
Wow cool I have the same model
Seeing other peoples setup is such a learning experience! Everybody wants their rig to fit whatever lifestyle they're trying to accommodate based on the limitations with their vehicle. How they go on and address that may be entirely different with each person, but each video showcasing a build is a goldmine of knowledge from countless nights of careful thinking and research, for us onlookers.
I appreciate every single one of these videos 🙏
We love them too!
So many Grandpa snacks, absolutely love it.
👍👍👍
Beautifully Done
That stove is awesome. Looks like a laptop.
Fantastic job Chuck! Better not come over here to Oz.... I reckon there'd be a few FJ owners putting you to work on their vehicles... me included! Outstanding! 👍👏🍻
Wonderful work!
That's a nit and awesome project.
Beautiful
Awesome!😊
I'm a current 2014 FJ Cruiser original owner and I use to own a Toyota T-100 and I got rid of it because once we got the FJ we hardly ever used it except for hauling top soil and mulch. The battery would die on the T-100 which was a pain to charge etc.
Oh and by the way your FJ looks "way good" "sharp" which is the reason for my comment. And I'm sort of a DIY wood worker and you work looks impeccable. Great job and I'm so glad you put this up for us to see!
Well Built! but as another Senior I have to ask, are you peeing in a bottle in the RTT or climbing down a dang ladder 3x a night?
What roof top rack did Chuck install?
This is, without a doubt, the most efficient fj build I’ve come across. By chance, does anyone have Chuck’s contact info?
Really want to go camp with Chuck ❤
Right??
Interesting set up - appears that it has never really been lived In - It would have been better to have done this interview after the owner actually used & thereafter tweeked his design to get a better idea whether it works or not. (BTW anything will do for a weekend or two - after that bad design gets real old-:)
