Practice makes perfect. I had problems at the beginning but it got better with time. Otherwise, I can show you in more detail how I work with the airbush in the next videos
I ready like the way you build up the body parts. I was curieus how to play/work with black body parts and still haven some light and darker parts. I just got the blood angels death company fore my birthday. So,...I'm giving it a trie. Nice work man. greetings from The Netherlands
Happy Birthday afterwards... thank you!!! Yeah.. its very easy but super effective. Maybe send me some Pictures when you done with painting on my Community Thread or Social Network :) Greeting from Austria
They look great, I may try that with some of my Death Company. Some really nice airbrushing and details! Only constructive criticism, English may not be your fist language, but it's Eshin Grey and Administratum Grey, probably different in Austria?
In this case, it only applies to the shoulder. I always matt all decals afterwards because they reflect so strongly. After a layer of matt varnish, the decals look almost like they were painted. In this case, I use AK Interactive Ultra Matt (AK 183) The cleanest solution would be to use an airbrush. If you do this with a brush, I wouldn't use too much. First apply a light layer and if there isn't enough, just add more. Otherwise, I can film this step in future videos if that helps you :)
This video is perfect. I am waiting for my airbrush to arrive today so I can try it out. Quick question... I know there are a lot of variables to consider, but.. generally speaking.. what all do you mix with the Eshein Grey and Administratum Grey to work well in the airbrush? 1:1 with a thinner? Any water or flow improver? I'm sure it'll be a bit of trial and error but hoping I can hone in quicker.
Thank you. Just like you said... it depends on several factors. But because of the colors... depending on the consistency I use Thinner or Flow Improver. In this case I used a 1:1 mixture. I like it more when the color is a little more liquid. This way I can easily highlite and the airbursh doesn't get clogged so easily.
@@Prime_time_Miniatures Thanks for the insight. I got my airbrush yesterday and the first try results were pretty amazing. No hiccups at all.. even though I just eyeballed some thinner and citadel 1:1 as best I could 😂. This is a million times better than dry brush.
Hey, I recognize your brush is very stiff and good to use. Mine, although being a good Kolinsky, is neither stiff nor very pointy. Any tip on how to achieve such a fine brush as you have?
Funny that you noticed that. I had the same problem too. I've been looking into it a bit and use my brush differently than before. I clean my brush with brush soap every week. It's important that you don't fill the brush completely with paint. Only half full at most... then the paint can be cleaned out easily. And water is of course important... the brush has to be a little damp so that it keeps its tip. I hope I was able to help you with this.
It's a fine looking model and a good tutorial, but it absolutely does matter what you prime your model with. You should always use either an aerosol or specific airbrush primer if you want your paint job to have any durability.
Yeah thats true But i think the normal black paints from the Companys Like GW will do the Job too for normal painters. But you are not wrong. Thanks Bro for the Info
I didn't know Arnold did Warhammer videos. How cool is that :D
Nice video brother.
When I listened to the recordings for the first time I had to laugh because I thought the same thing XD

At 2:45 you mention that you matte everything with matte varnish. The whole model? Also, what brand matte varnish do you use?

With the airbrush you get much cleaner color transitions. I'm glad it worked right away.
@@Prime_time_Miniatures So much cleaner! I can't go back now, lol. Subbed! Keep up the good work.
:)

@@Prime_time_Miniatures thank you! Sounds like there is no magic trick, just be a bit careful.
Yes 😀

Yeah thats true But i think the normal black paints from the Companys Like GW will do the Job too for normal painters. But you are not wrong. Thanks Bro for the Info
You should not prime with colors but an explicit primer. A primer ensures that the paint sticks to the mini, abadon black doesn't do that.
Ok Thanks for the Info 😀
awesome work ! may i ask what you painted the metal portions of the chain sword and heavy bolt pistol with - it is so neat !
Thanks man, very simple. I use vallejo metal Color steel and Highlight it with Aluminium. They are very fluid and easy to use
@@Prime_time_Miniatures you champion, thanks for getting back to me so promptly ! are you looking forward to getting some paint on the dreadnought ?
Holy Emperor. I need to paint something soon too - got one for my Dark Angel Chapter
