    This is a review of the 2022 Porsche 992 generation 911 in GTS trim. Its considered by many to be the "sweet spot" in the 911 lineup but that wont tell you how it feels to drive, the performance, or what it is like to live with on the daily. If you have any interest in someday buying a GTS, you cant miss this review!

    Traded my 2018 991.2 GT3 for my 2022 C4 GTS. When people ask, it's the same answer - the gt3 is the hooker. Good at 1 thing only and does it extremely well. The GTS is like the wife. Jack of all trades.

    Hi from the UK. Great video and love the car. Quick question - are main dealers in the US allowed to charge ADM on new cars or was this a ‘used’ car? Main Porsche dealers in the UK have to sell at list price but of course there are always workarounds! 😉

    • @PointShiftDrive

      ADM is specific to new cars. Used cars change value too frequently to standardize. But yes,

    • @PointShiftDrive
      @PointShiftDrive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching. Also please consider sharing. it really helps the channel.
      As for your question... I choose the stick for a number of reasons. Mainly, I enjoy a good manual... and this is certainly a good one. Also, it is more rare. I think this will be helpful for resale value.
      As for lightweight glass... I would be careful. when I got my 992 GT3, I noticed how fragile the glass was. very little pressure can bend the glass. As a matter of fact, many new owners on the forum sites started cracking their glass by accident. just leaning on the car and stuff. So that was enough reason for me to not check that box. Please its really not that much weight savings and in the real world, its not going to feel different. it will be slightly nosier as well. But I am personally ok with that.

    • @mxracer78
      @mxracer78 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PointShiftDriveok thanks. The odd thing is that they market the lightweight glass as an option that lowers the amount of road noise and outside ambient sounds, and to me, logic would be that it would be the opposite, that lightweight glass would make it noisier, like you said

      @PointShiftDrive  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for watching!
      Yes I considered it. However that almost doesn’t make sense for me. After all, I sold my 992 GT3 to get this GTS. Why? For more practicality and a backseat for my kids.
      Besides, the lightweight package might actually effect resale values a bit. There aren’t many people that want to spend almost GT3 money on a non-GT car. I actually think you lose some of your future buyers if you make this an almost GT3. Most people want the GTS for its daily drivability. Those are my $.02

    • @PointShiftDrive

      Factory recommendation is stay under 5k RPM for 2k miles. obviously you dont want to drive long distances on cruise control. you need to rev it up and down to keep the heat spread within the cylinders.
      Also, there will always be a debate but I always follow factory recommendations because those are there for a reason.

    Great video! Did you consider the C2S w/ PASM? Like you, I live in the Bay and wonder how the C2S w/ PASM compares to the GTS for a daily driver, esp for the roads we have up here. Love to hear your thoughts

    • @PointShiftDrive
      @PointShiftDrive  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      With all things Porsche, its a exponential growth curve. And suspension compliance is no different. I have driven many versions of the 911 and the base carerra/C2Sor C4S all have very compliant suspension. They are surprisingly good on a track considering how soft they are. Porsche basically is building the 911 to fit pretty much anyone's lifestyle. So you can always find one that works for you. the GTS is really good on the road. so good in fact that I rarely notice the suspension in a bad way. I just drive the thing.
      A GT car, that is a different story. Alternatively, anything under the GTS trim-wise is proportionately a step towards daily driver as the GT3 is to track-work. All that being said, I didnt consider anything sub GTS trim level because I wanted some motorsport theatre. I think anything less is a bit of a "normal" car... if that makes sense. The GTS is a really perfect balance.
      Hope that helps!

      I own the GTS with original suspension (which is the same as the turbo) and would recommend it instead of the PASM (which is the same as the CarreraS). Then you don't need the 4wheel steering option! For street use not necessary 4 wheel drive as well.

    My Shark Blue GTS comes in in December. My build will be 144 lbs less than any other GTS 2. I did not get the lightweight package, I didn't want rear steer nor did I want the racing seats. I got Manual sport seats, PDK, no Bose upgrade, Carbon fiber roof, Carbon Ceramic Brakes, Spider Design Wheels and I added Lightweight Racing battery. Zuffenhausen would not allow me to delete rear seats so I am stuck with those. I predict my car will be one of the fastest GTS you will see on the road.

      Viewers need to realize that this video was done a couple years ago. At the time you couldn’t buy a Porsche without ADM unless you are a VIP.. At the end of the day I didn’t regret it because the car was so awesome. In terms of options I had no regrets because this was a pretty highly option car. A matter fact it was probably too many options. only issue was I wasn’t in love with it, I enjoyed driving it. It was fast as hell but there was just something about it that made it a little bit too clinical. Honestly it probably had to do more with my kids being too small to enjoy the drive at the time. Nevertheless, a wonderful car so glad I got it in a fun color. Congrats on your purchase I know you’re gonna love it.
