while I respect the mindset of running pillage not for shields, but to armor strip you can also use terrify, and mod for a little efficiency and energy generation instead of insane amounts of strength since only one ability benefits from strength you could've modded for only precision intensify with terrify, and has all the other power strength slots dedicated to things like holster damage, efficency, and energy economy Loki IS amazing, and he's impossible to kill keep being creative and weird, builds like these seem silly but make sense when you entertain the weirdness- just think it could be a little more optimized with some workarounds !!
The Augment for Decoy has its use against Demolysts, as it turns most of the mobs AI into potato state, stunlocking them and if they're surrounded by other enemies also acting as a primer. It doesn't work on boss enemies, but surprisingly works on Acolytes.
Yeah which sadly just highlights how desperately he needs changes. His kit actively makes itself redundant. The enemies are disarmed, aggro'd on your decoy instead of you even though to you're already both invisible and invincible. Even worse from Loki's perspective disarm is his worst ability but overall its his best since its the only tangible thing he provides to a squad. Meanwhile you have frames which come with invincibility baseline, cheat death mechanics and big room nuke damage combos. Not that I'm saying I want Loki to be a nuker. But he could definitely do with some kind of damage buff while invisible and maybe let his decoy absorb damage and then you can hold to detonate it as nuke. Hell put a damage vulnerability on disarm too, if someone took away my gun I know I'd feel more vulnerable.
@EmpyreanDreamer this comment really highlights how little the community understands loki. Decoy isn't to protect you. It's to manipulate AI (protect objectives/manipulate spawns/protect teammates), speedrun mousetrap objectives faster than any other frame, and function as an instant teleport. It also functions as an AoE primer and can even wipe rooms with the right helminth. Disarm is incredibly useful combined with decoy, if you know how to use decoy. It just isn't used because of how core narrow minded is to the rest of his kit. Loki has a damage buff while invisible and the decoy can already do insane damage. Loki provides more utility to a team than 75% of frames. The best invulnerability is spawn invulnerability, and he gives 30 seconds or more to teammates, making them tankier than revenant. He AoE primes like Citrine, he can create stronger minions than Caliban. He speeds up certain missions and objectives faster than Titania, he manages aggro like 99% of the other frames just can't. Plus the lesser parts of his kit, like speed boost/invis/etc. Loki is the tankiest frame in the game, and offers top 10 utility. He doesn't need any sort of direct damage added to his kit. This is why DE hasn't reworked him, because he's unique and he works extremely well, one of the best level cap frames. "Desperately needs changes" is incredibly inaccurate.
@johnflory3306 show me how you do lvl cap defense with loki lol. Loki is by no way bad frame, but you overrate him too much. His most useful ability is his decoy, which is subsume ( since invisibility is available to any frame using Ivara's Subsume )
@cyberwarrior8382 show me level cap defense with Ash. Harrow. Revenant. Level cap defense is about abusing invulnerable AoE gates, which very few frames have. The frames that do have them aren't considered the best. That's assuming you want pod defense, because on player defense, no one beats loki. Safeguard switch. As far as the actual pod defense, he has better tools than most of the S and A tier. There are many decoy spots that grab 70% of a waves aggro, been there since launch. Invulnerable decoy has increased the viable spots tenfold. We easily have dozens of weapons that can handle the 30% or so from the other angle. AoE overguard makes this require more babysitting than it used to, but he'll easily get much further than most of the high tier frames. Your premise wasn't very well thought out, would you like to try again?

Personally I think pillage is not a great option for what it requires since if you're gonna go so hard on strength you might as well just run roar instead as its the better option with the typical types of weapons Loki likes to abuse. I'm looking at you Glaive Prime. The main benefit of pillage is stripping shields but thats not a big deal if you just go in built for corpus. Overall I just don't think its worth what you have to put in. If Loki benefited from the shield gating it would be a different story but he doesn't. As far as stripping subsumes go after the armor changes I've found it better to just use a cheaper option that can't full strip. Recently I made a build with fire blast which doesn't require extra strength and starts at 75% plus afflicts heat plus corrosive projection which puts it pretty close to full strip at 100% strength. Then you just push for decent duration and range for switch teleport and disarm respectively. Yes that means replacing invisibility. Yeah I know sounds weird but why do you need to be invisible when the enemies are regularly on their ass from fire blast, have no guns to shoot at you, are aggro'd on your decoy and you already have literal invincibility. Not to mention out of all of Loki's abilities Disarm is his worst from his personal perspective but still overall his best simply because it's the only one which provides a tangible benefit to your squad mates and all of the others are just redundancy stacked on top of redundancy so it makes more sense to replace one of those and I think using decoy to manipulate disarmed enemy AI is more useful than being invisible while invincible not to mention your squad gets more value out of decoy too. But I also just like the more active playstyle of maintaining the switch safeguard.
@EmpyreanDreamer That does sound more optimal, nothing wrong with that. I like this setup because it is cozy, and pillage can benefit the whole squad with defense reduction, which pairs with assisting allies with safeguard switch. I know you can buff with roar as well, but I was already set on replacing disarm for my setup, so I opted for pillage.
i reaaallllyyyy want to like Loki, he was my starter and i beat all the quests with him, that being said, his kit does not do much and what it does is contradictory. radial disarm makes his 1 augment useless...not that its particularly useful... safeguard switch is made entirely useless by being invisible irradiating disarm and damage decoy causes exumi to use their AOE which contradicts the whole point of invisibility and none of these do any damage to SP enemies. Conversely, i can just use Gauss who has 2 ways of literal invincibility, is one of the fastest frames in the game, and has a very spammable aoe nuke. granted Gauss is one of the best warframes period but theres so many who can just out perform Loki. Mesa, Nova, Volt, Nezha, Rhino (who also does not have any directly leathal abilities), Saryn, Protea, Baruuk, Wisp....i can go on you get the idea.

it's rather the reverse: Every invisible frame should follow the same rules like Ivara. Invisibility for how powerful and gamebreaking it is (just like revenant) needs alot more ramifications.
@@dshearwf 10 years ago invisibility was pretty good but not now so its actually the reverse of your reverse. The list of ways you can make any frame invincible at this point is very long, even frames who take no damage anyway because everything is instantly evaoporated the moment they enter LoS or even beyond that with something like Saryn. Invisibility is the weakest survivability method now because a few unlucky stray bullets can still kill you unless you take extra measures to ensure that never happens which at that point you might as well just build like everyone else and forget you even have invis. The limitation of Prowl is bad for the same reason people hated undertow on hydroid and even he had more freedom of movement than Ivara does. You don't see her very often for good reason, she's used for very specific things and thats about it outside of the tiny but hardcore Ivara playerbase. Even an equally outdated frame like Trinity, who is intended to be a pure healer, can output way more damage than Loki.
