When I was 13 James Dean changed my life. He was there at the start of youth culture, Rock&Roll, the 1960s counter-culture, and everything that sprang from that. I wish teenagers today weren't into people with no talent like the Spice Girls, thinking of money, 'bling', or being a pimp like Snoopy Doggy Dog, and instead read some books, watch some decent films & listen to music with some meaning... the world would be a better place, with a future to look forward to. Thanks for posting this
people who dont understand the greatness of james dean never will, so dont waste your time with them. i love james dean, and i feel he was born in the wrong time. if only he were alive today.. i would be all over him!
@Deerwoman1976 . I've noticed this too, also in other photos. In one of the biographies, his aunt (the one that raised him) has said that out of all the characters he's played, the closest match to the real James was Cal Trask in East of Eden...
Hi Serena, Great job on this, thanks for posting. Love the pics and the song an also your background. 5 Stars + fav. Have a fab day. Rip Jimmy, love you. All the best Isabel
Great idea Beth, Maybe with todays Hi-technology, its a good moment to let hem return in the media, so that the world will see his beautiful movies again.. On the other side, its bad to badge Jimmy with a label... It was not where Jimmy stood for, being a Rebel!!!
2:43 he looks different than usually. I wonder who has taken the photo... Maybe someone he loved or admired... The look is so.. I don't know, he looks very shy and so... Real. Little surprised and frightened, like a little boy that's get caught of something :) But still he smiles that little beautiful smile and looks behind the camera. Maybe there's something he likes :)
I believe this is from the film East of Eden I think his best I was part of his generation and went to Fairmount in the early 70's visited his grave and met some of his family Ortense Winslow Jimmy's Aunt asked me to sit with her in her front parlour and have a chat, Jimmy's picture Was on top of the TV one side and her daughter on the other side.great memories to sit where he sat Just perfect. Janet
@elvislvr92 I'm not stereotyping you because I don't even know you. The comment was only a consideration about today's "youth culture" and today's Pop music in general, not about you, and it's certainly not a 'judgement'. If you're into good stuff & can be bothered to find out about stuff beyond what's fashionable now, good for you. When I was a teenager in the '80s my friends were into Madonna, I was listening to Blues records from the 1930s. Sometimes it's just the way it is. Take care
@kidcalabria I do have to say that you can't judge every "teenager today" like this. I'm not into all the crap they call "good music" today. I'm only 17, and I get told by several people that I should've been born during this time. Elvis Presley is my hero, obviously by my youtube name. Johnny Cash is also my hero. The Beatles rock. James Dean is just plain amazing. Marlon Brando? Well. That says it all right there. I don't to be disrespectful or anything, I just don't want to be stereotyped.
What's so great about James Dean? He made 3 movies, mostly playing sullen teens who's scripts were mumbles, shouting, or shrugs. No high flights of memorable lines or literary value. A nice face, but so what -that's a dime a dozen in H'wood. He's totally overrated and was systematically marketed as a rebel icon, bought hook-line-and-sinker by the gullible, who imagine their own forms of rebellion are thereby validated. But they are merely sheep following another fad.
just seeing him with the kids, just make me wounder of how much of a great father he could have been.
For such a short life he had major photographers around him all the time- and we get a plethora of valuable images
Pretty much the most beautiful man who has ever lived.

Beautiful video!!! He was a great actor and so good looking! Died too young! Sad day when it happened. Thank you for sharing this video. RIP JD
I think his legend lives on because so many actors today try to channel the essence of who Dean was. I see a lot of familiar expressions in his face.
The most poetic actor who ever lived.
thanks for this lovely video
Thank you =] I'm glad you like it. And the same for me. Every time I listen to it, I think of James Dean. Not a bad thing. =D
it is very clear that the delightful James Dean lived fast and died young

Alot of things die from time to time but the legacy always lives on.
He was a mysterious. He was misunderstood. He was a loner. He was beautiful and talented. If you want to learn more about him read his biographies.
Jorocio @
- can you suggest one you think is honest & well written beside: Dizzy & Jimmy??
what an actor... handsome, natural talent, and full of mysterious...
