I did a MM on mine and used it for the first time today. An insane improvement on stock, really worth doing. I only cut the bottom off the internal chamber so the gases flow straight through and that was enough to really, noticeably liven it up
What an amazing chainsaw! I counted seven seconds difference - and here I thought the catalytic mufflers from Dolmar were less performance restrictive... Really looks like a muffler mod made a huge difference here!

@@poparamiro thanks for getting back to me. Watched another video and it shows you have to cut the flange off to remove that bit, makes way more sense. Working on modding a dolmar 7900 my grandfather gave me. Have you ported yours?
@@poparamiroi did get this saw shortly after this video. Ran it a bit, gutted muffler n added 1/2" conduit outlet, slotted H jet, ran again was much better. Ran about 3 months n sent out for porting down in Tennessee, WOW!! Couldn't keep off rev limiter so back it went for 272 coil mod. Should have back here real soon. AWSOME underrated saws in my opinion! Your videos sold me on this 80cc bruiser! I do have decent video of it posted post porting job..
How much more did you have to turn the high jet out after you removed the slr epa bulls&$#@ and did you need mess with L jet any what did u end up with for final tune how many turns on Hi and Lo needles after everything is all said and done
Do not know exactly, but i remenber that it has a very fine step and i turn out a lot... not like in other saws. I adjust the L a little out... I just do the final tune in wood.
I get the whole modding thing...I like to tinker around with stuff too...but now you have a saw that you cant even use for a single cut without hearing protection or if you ever become a wildland FF can never be used on NPS or DOI lands...just saying...

Yes, i adjusted, it was a little lean after
I did the same thing on my 7900 , removing only the catalyst,without the additional drain hole. The chainsaw is much better now.
