It’s funny to me that people do not understand why receiving a 10-15 min massage at their place of work once per week is cost-effective. As a former massage therapist who now does medical billing, I’m pretty sure I’m qualified to break it down for you: Not counting accidents, one of the most preventable injuries in the workplace is a RSI: repetitive strain injury. This usually takes the form of carpal tunnel or something similar, depending on your form of work. This is not limited to white collar desk jobs. RSIs are also found in factory workers that do shiftwork on machinery. The cost for carpal tunnel surgery can range from $4000-$8500. That’s pretty conservative and that’s just the surgery. That isn’t counting time missed from work for recuperation, time missed from doctors appointments related to initial treatment and follow-ups from the surgery, physical therapy and time missed for those appointments, etc. That’s several thousand dollars at the cost of your company’s Worker’s Comp. And that’s just if you have one hand operated on, but many people have to have bilateral carpal tunnel surgeries. This is for one person, one relatively simple outpatient surgery. This isn’t counting the strain on the other workers who may have to work to cover the absence of their colleague, which can result in additional money that your company has to pay out for overtime. This doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of the effects that the added stress can put on the other workers, potentially causing missed work on their part. Now add all of this up in your head, and ask yourself if the $20-$30 massages that a company might pay for each employee once a week is not cost-effective.
Why bother comparing how stressful one job is to another? Everyone has a stressful day here and there. All jobs are stressful. Everyone should be able to do something like this to relax. That's what the video is trying to say, that this service is cost effective for anyone.
I love how on youtube people could probably take a video about magical unicorns and fairies and devolve it into an argument about class warfare/structure. It never fails to impress.
@kuehnau I have worked in both environments. in an office not seeing sunlight for 8 hours and manual labour for an environmental agency. Im sure it was not as tough as a foundry, but either way i preferred it because there was a feeling of actually doing something.
I'm not saying that office jobs are not stressful and deserving of a massage, but so are other career fields and blue collar jobs. Try working on repairing industrial equipment all day, or loading tractor trailers with heavy boxes by hand. We should all be offered these massages by companies then.
But those people are moving there muscles so they don't get stiff to much. People who sit down for hours are getting no movement and getting stiff so they can develop problems because they don't move
I was curious to see if they were still around and it appears that their site no longer works so it’s likely the company went out of business barring a name change,
It's funny how some of these commercials that were made 14-15 years ago blew up with the ASMR thing. I also love how Tim Brookes in a cream suit likely has grown up now and has no idea of him being cringe in a cream suit has 500k views.
I worked in a prison, and the employee support staff brought in a LMT for us officers. It didnt last 2 weeks. Can't have one massage practitioner for 50 men on a 20 minute break. Plus non of us went to it anyway
not every one can get a university education. granted in this day of age any one can finish year 12 but university is a different matter. even apprenticeships and traineeships aren't easy to get. and lets face it, some people are dumber than others. because of all of those things (education and intelligence), humans are not equal
You talk about the working class building this country, yet you denote them even though they are part of the "working" class. Most of them had to "work" to get to where they are today, and deserve just as much of respect, regardless of their trade.
Mental work is more rare and in most cases more valued. I started taking out the trash at home when I was 12. I didn't learn the equation for terminal velocity until this year. Im not denouncing blue collar jobs as there is a clear need for them but they're not highly desired jobs that are given a lot of credit.
One thing I noticed is that they say it's "cost effective" and it makes me wonder exactly how many companies feel that way. Granted that this kind of service is really nice for employees who are getting the service, but I just don't see this as something anyone would consider "cost effective". Cost effective is like what they recently started doing at my job, where if you need any supplies, you have to check it out with your clock number and you are limited to how many resources you can access in a month, if you go over that limit you aren't given access to anymore until the next month. It's a huge pain in the ass but it's causing people to be more careful with the resources they use instead of wasting them - saving the company money.
Too right. I'm 18, worked both kinds of jobs, and anything where I'm sitting like a loser all day is soul-destroying. I work in a car-wash, and would never trade places with any of these starch-collared bozos.
Well thats physical labour, doesn't require any brain power now, does it? Try being responsible for a department of 100 people, keeping them satisfied, making a profit, meeting the firm's expectations, and maintaining your reputation.
I am glad to see I am not the only person who feels this way about white collar jobs. I made a comment about it, like what, 1, 2.. Maybe 3 years ago and got attacked almost on the spot. Everyone working in offices tends to forget there are much worse jobs out there, I'd break my grandma's leg for an office job. Oh no, you sit on your ass for 8 hours and then get a massage? Sign me the fuck up.
Stressful job.... try working in a kitchen for 14 to 16 hours a day. Those therapists wouldn't even get a 10minute slot with a chef due to the workload we have lol "suits" really do make me laugh !

Blablabla
There is a strong ASMR elements in this video! I love it!
I like how the head honcho said,"They do feel it's worth the cost." As though, he is still has reservations about the program and the cost.
2024 anyone
Yes
2025

Still true 7 years later!
At almost 200,000 views, our most viewed video on TH-cam still seems to get people talking! UrbanChill - Corporate Video by Dreaming Fish Productions
@ploxioths the video was posted in 2009, not necessarily recorded in 2009.
Not your lunch break, a whole extra 10 minutes! 😂 We are all robots setting in offices the majority of our lives for no reason
I love working in an office! It's like one big party with free food!
Don't complain. It's your choice to make life more difficult for yourself.
manual and mental labour are both important. a "production assistant" (a labourer) is just as important as a receptionist
4:25 WHATS HER NAME
She ain even bad bruh lmao tf is u on😂😂😂😂
Watching this video in 2024 as an American 👁️👄👁️
@scutworker They do flicker but not like in the video, it just happens too fast for the human eye to detect.
Me: "Mom can we have Hawkeye?"
Mom: "We have Hawkeye at home"
Hawkeye at home: 3:26
A foundry is a factory where metal is melted down for casting and poured into molds to create parts for products.
Why is there so many CRTs in a video from 2009?
I need that on my work.
Well said, man. I just applied for a blue collar job so I can pay for all the expenses that go with college in California.
Why can't they do this a school !!!!! :(
This company closed October 2011...
@kuehnau

Watching this made my back really want a massage
There's a clear need for both, but physical labor is something most people can accomplish. That's not the case for mental work.
Not to mention sitting for hours on end is one of the worst things you can do to your back.
I'm not saying that office jobs are not stressful and deserving of a massage, but so are other career fields and blue collar jobs. Try working on repairing industrial equipment all day, or loading tractor trailers with heavy boxes by hand. We should all be offered these massages by companies then.
I'm a qualified therapist and would love to help out blue collar workers. Please get in touch if you need help in London.
tuina1 London, Ontario or London, England?
Pat0p I think she means London as in the London in England
But those people are moving there muscles so they don't get stiff to much. People who sit down for hours are getting no movement and getting stiff so they can develop problems because they don't move
+ Pat0p England

Probably perished alongside the other on Newman’s fire in 2016
and you are the one who is forever alone.
You have an excellent point.
Why can't we propose a bill which makes a daily massage for all workers required by law?
Where Baba
Hard manual labor is for some, School is for others.
Why aren't they using windows 8 and oled displays ?
I am specialised in panjakarma Indian traditional massage. I am interested in working with your company.
Nice👍
Is that Aaron Rodgers at 4:18?
@cataxo444
"By 2007 we plan to increase employee moral by 25%"
Good point

They were all my coworkers. They died in a fire some years ago.
I worked in a prison, and the employee support staff brought in a LMT for us officers. It didnt last 2 weeks. Can't have one massage practitioner for 50 men on a 20 minute break. Plus non of us went to it anyway
Or a McDonalds lol. Them places are brutal!!!

I want to work there :D!!
not sure why you felt an obnoxious response was needed
Anyone else catch that they said they wanted to increase employee satisfaction TO 25%?! Good grief how low was it to begin with?!
I heard it too. I was just hoping he meant to say "by" 25 percent because if not, yikes
BECAUSE I WASN'T LOVED AS A CHILD.
ok thank you
working in the edf energy office would not need a very high level of education
come to America and set up a division with each and every factory in the country...you'd make BILLIONS. just sayin'
it's very cost effective.
Massage is a must
i want this and i dont even have a job :p
because leaving a decent, constructive comment is so overrated these days...
-_-
Brain power is more rare than physical power.
'We first experienced Urban Chill when we were out on a company night...one evening' No shit Sherlock.
Turns out this Urban Chill company no longer exists...

I love you now, isn't that enough????
Somebody else fell over at 5:01
for a company promoting relaxation, I found their music choice unnerving.
More importantly, what are "ass suits"? And how does kuehnau know that these particular ass suits aren't as strong as others?
Someone fell over at 2:08
The music is stressing me out
Guy at 1:46 should be a male model not an office worker.
i think somebodys jelous becuz he didnt study at skwl
I dont see how my relationship status effects your English skills.
😮
sounds like someone needs a massage
Apparently either did you if that's the way you spell

Миша шеи ❤в зади
Dont get on him for not studying. You only spelled/used proper grammar five times.
Still requires more brain power than any physical job. Don't forget.
No women in this company?
I'm a chef...if anyone needs this service it's us, not someone who just sits all day. WTF
@tennisgurl206 england
