It's beyond lazy character design to make someone's parent look _exactly_ like an older version of them. It literally looks like their future selves came for a visit.
It is kinda funny how the girls get their looks and beauty from their mothers. They did the same thing for Ariel’s mother in the prequel for The Little Mermaid. They made her mother look very similar to Ariel in the sequel.
@Wing-Zero-si1eu Ariel's mother looks similar to her, not exactly like her. The first design of the girls' mothers is so much better. They don't look like different age clones of eachother.
@@0deadx21 yeah Sam’s mom Gabby, was better with brunette hair. Clover’s mom Stella, having lighter blonde hair. And Alex’s mom Carman, having darker skin with a little brown hair. I still wish they kept those designs for the season 4 finale, when their moms became Spies, just to return their daughters the favor for saving them from the Spy Assassins, which was after they found out about their secret of working for WOOHP. It’s kinda funny, cuss every time I watched that 3-parter. I always think of the Mom Spies more of a first generation for WOOHP. Long before their daughters took their place. Which would have been an interesting plot twist for the show. The girls inherited their spy genes from their moms, which makes sense of why Jerry made them spies in the first place. It would also be nice that he & the girls moms go way back, with his mom being their mentor. While having Mandy’s mom as their rival from high school. Which does run in the family.
I really wished Mandy grew out of the whole bullying thing and instead became an ally to the girls when she got older. It would've been a nice character development for her, from being a bully to a close friend.
Yeah i feel like Mandy can have an actual good Redemption ARC and genuinely become a nicer person without going into obsessive stalker mode like last time, but it seems like they want to continue the Mandy hates the main Trio for no legitimate petty reasons shtick, which i understand cause she's become more so their actual villain they encounter more on daily basis than the ones they fight in their spy life and its more iconic for her to be harass the girls and be the bad guy in their personal life. But I feel like now her dropping her mean girl act and becoming more mature and nicer can open up new ideas for stories.
I don't know how to feel on one hand I understand what you're saying, but on another way just be better. She just stayed evil and got more and more cartooniously evil, and she just became entertaining like look at Jack horder from the puss and boots movie.
In Mandy’s defence during “Evil Coffee Shop Much?”, Jerry gave her no training. The movie shows the girls going through a rigorous training sequence (in spite of the whole “spy-gene” thing) before going on their first mission. Mandy just gets dropped into the deep end immediately and is expected to figure things out for herself. Gotta wonder if Jerry did that on purpose to get Mandy to agree to stop being a spy, since the girls would’ve told him that Mandy can be ridiculously stubborn sometimes.
That would've been very interest to see! I can certainly see Jerry doing that, especially with his habit of sending the girls on "test missions" (without telling them that they're not real missions) and just trolling the girls in general.
@@gabbydragonway8810 which felt like they hadn’t had time to train her, the same way Sam, Clover, & Alex were trained. When someone joins WHOOP, they must be trained.
It’s kinda of funny how in some occasions Mandy does end up winning in the end. Usually the trope is the mean girl gets her karma but Mandy sometimes ends up getting what she wanted
You know, my theory for why Mandy hasn't revealed to the girls yet that she knows they are spies in season 7 is that, Mandy is Cyberchac. It makes sense. Mandy could have been furious when Jerry hung up on her and decided to take more... extreme measures.
She definitely is imo, they put way too much attention on her computer skills to be an accident. + Cyberchac only wants to enter WOOHP, not destroy it like a regular villain. And the main color being purple, and the very subtle way Cyberchac moves their hands like Mandy and (at least in french, we're so lucky to have kept the OG voices) almost the same laugh pattern.
You don’t have to like her or agree with her approaches but you gotta respect her confidence, will power and determination. When she wants something she go get it and doesn’t let odds stop her. Now if she put that strength into better use then that would be nicer but she wouldn’t be such an iconic antagonist to our girls today if she wasn’t herself. So yeah I may not agree with her approaches at times but I do enjoy her character. Mandy confidence and determination can be appreciated and use as motivation in achieving your own dreams and goals. A lesson to young people in what they can achieve in their life when they set their mind to it and keep working towards it.
Haven't seen S7 yet, but I always hated how the show picked the weirdest moments to not wanna break the status quo, ie having any development Mandy has with the girls end up being short-lived and Blaine breaking up with Clover, despite having feelings for her beforehand, due to having dated Mandy offscreen.
@kingj9664 A love interest for Clover in Season 5. They eventually broke up because Blaine dated Mandy offscreen and said girls from Beverly Hills were too high-maintenance, which felt like a flimsy excuse to break them up.
I can imagine in a next generation of the show, that’s about the future daughters of the main trio. They become rivals with Mandy’s future daughter. Who is really mean to them, the same way her mother was way mean to the trio. As they all said, “It runs in the family”.
Oh no no, please, we do not need the next generation of spies to be directly related to the first gen protagonists. Because let's face it, no matter what we the audience will always compare them to the original girls, moreso if the daughter ends up not measuring up to her mother at her age. I mean, look at *Boruto* almost every important new gen ninja is the kid of one of the previous gen ninjas, and generally people still prefer their parents generation anyway. 😅
