Coincidentally this week I recorded also a piece from this composer (to be released in a few weeks. I found some nice background info from the composer. Succes with your lessons! Lambert Chaumont (Liège, circa 1630 - Huy, April 23, 1712) was a Carmelite in the Prince-Bishopric of Liège (now Belgium) and composer of organ music. His monastic name was Lambert de Saint-Théodore. He entered the Carmelite convent in the city of Liège (1649-1651). He followed a novitiate in Reims. Once ordained as a priest, he went to the Carmelite convent of Huy. In 1674 he became the parish priest of Saint-Martin in Huy. He exchanged this small parish for the larger parish of Saint-Germain in 1688. He combined the work of pastor with the position of Carmelite prior of Huy. Through self-study he became proficient in organ music.
Congrats for this step, wish you the best luck, joy and strength. Not that easy to learn it the "right" way. And to be honest, for me I always find in new pieces parts where I don't do the proper finger work. But hey as long as it works? Nah, should work again on that, back to organ :D Well played buddy ^.^
As a self-taught organist, I should follow your lead and do that, too (take lessons and learn organ properly). Bad habits in one's playing are hard to unlearn. Good for your, Remi, and well done.
It takes real courage and dedication to start over again with organ lessons - ingrained 'bad habits' are not easy to put right (as I know from personal experience!) so I applaud your commitment and hope you stick through the pain ahead! I very much enjoyed your performance of this 'Récit de voix humaine' by Lambert Chaumont on your Viscount Physis organ: bravo, Remi!
Beautiful composition and excellent performance, Remi. How cool that you decided to “start over” with the organ, now with guidance. You are an excellent musician and organist, very dedicated and musical, and I am sure this will add a lot to your journey. In the short time that I had a practice organ at home, with a pedalboard and manuals, I think I made the mistake of not giving myself the time necessary for my development. I started working with already complex pieces, which required a lot and this made me a little frustrated. If one day I can start again with the organ, I will certainly do it differently, and I will also look for a teacher. Congratulations and good luck my friend. Many greetings!
@@Andre.Barbosaa thank you so much dear André! The first lesson has been very frustrating with my finger position. I can't wait to work on normal pieces the right way
@@grahamtwist Thank you very much, dear Graham. You are right, the difficulties overcome become pleasant memories. Indeed, handling the pedals is a great challenge, and working with a suitable repertoire, with progressive difficulties, must be something valuable. If I ever return to the organ, I hope to do so with less anxiety and more care! Many greetings.
Bonjour Rémi. Bien cette petite page ! Au moins, les anches sont accordées !! Bravo pour cette décision de prendre des cours, je vous souhaite de persévérer et d'en recueillir de bons fruits.
A very nice recording! And that's a great decision to start again with lessons. It's never too late ... I whish you all the best and I'm sure, you will see a good result after a short time.
Toujours un grand plaisir de t’écouter. Merci Rémi 😀
