I want to start off this year with something special. Last year I wrote to James Charles and asked him if he would like to do a lesson with me.
I was shocked when he immediately wrote me back and said that he loved my videos and that he would love for me to coach him. James invited me to his home in LA and the rest is history.
We spent 2 amazing days together and recorded a beautiful lesson of James finding his confidence and real voice singing Lewis Capaldi’s SOMEONE YOU LOVED!
My friendship with James has changed my life. He is so humble, dedicated, motivated and no matter how much he has been criticized for his singing in the past, he NEVER gave up.
I hope that this sets an example for all singers who have so much more talent than they realize and really want to improve and become better singers.
I'm happy to share the second part of my lesson with James Charles, who changed my life and continues to inspire me every single day. Hope you enjoy it!

I love how she builds confidence in her students. I think as a vocalist I’ve always been so insecure and self classified as someone who’d never be a “powerhouse” bc it didn’t come naturally. James’ journey is living proof that training and hard work can build the support to perform even the most technically demanding powerhouse songs

What I appreciate about this is that you're working with the voice he's comfortable using. Despite him not being able to use/naturally inhale with his nose, he sings beautifully and you really taught him how to utilize HIS voice..You didn't change him. Amazing.

I have been practicing singing on my own for the last year or so. I recently discoverd how what you call "register" wich i called "different voice" and how that sounds different when you move in it from note to note.
It was like a huge revelation for me and it helped me enjoy to practice singing even more. Then i found one of your videos where you explained the register thing and how you can move into the notes.. and make the sound different
I was like WOW this is it! This woman knows het stuff. It helped me confirm that im kind of on the goodtrack with my singing practice. Now i love your videos and alot of what you explain really makes sense to me and you indirectly gave me confirmation that my practice and listening is paying off. So i am really thankfull for your presence on youtube!

You can do it😌I know how it feels but you can do it, your family will just have to bear with it in the end when you’re done with it all (the vocal training and stuff) leave their jaws hanging in shock🥲
Sing for you, not for them. Sing for them when you're ready and when they're ready to REALLY hear you. You can do straw exercises, hums and lip trills and as Mrs. Cheryl said; a cup. Keep singing. Crows are birds and birds sing, even if it's a chirp. Hope that helps!! 🖤🙃🤟🙏
Never give up, when season 1 of America idol came out I was in middle school I told my grandma "I want to do that" she called me talentless high-school came around and I decided to audition for showchoir. My grandma said "try something else you won't get in" I proved her wrong and made the junior varsity group, her voice stuck in the back of my mind and I asked for a demotion, I did not enjoy the beginners (sing only) group and most were learning how to hit the notes and how to read sheet music. Following yr I went all in for JV never looked back! Loved show choir dancing while singing is a whole new experience and I have no regrets

On the other hand James should stay away from Beyoncé songs or atleast picked a different song that was better suited for his voice. “Listen” is one of Beyoncé’s hardest ballads to cover (she barley sings it these days herself because of how vocally taxing it is). Overall keep it up James.... Your confidence is coming through more and more! ❤️❤️❤️

I almost can't believe it! Starting so shy, holding back and not even showing the voice and then through her leading singing it out from the heart and with so much more confidence!? One time i took singing lessons (i was 8yrs old) my teacher was very strict and would scream at me if i did something else. I never told my parents because i was scared she would track me down and k1ll me or something. One day i was singer mArY hAd A lItTlE lAmB but I accidentally took a breath in the wrong place. My teacher screamed at me and ripped up the sheet. If I had Cheryl as my teacher I would’ve never quit! You are an inspiration, Cheryl 🥰❤️💖🦋✨
