So if you reset it does it give you all the other frequencies to transmit on like GMRS and murs, etc? I want a radio for just emergencies that will allow me to talk on HAM, Murs, Airband, GMRS, etc, if need be. I will just have it ready for emergencies. I couldn't tell from the video of it will expand the frequencies.. Sorry, I'm old and half blind and I'm seeing this on my pixel phone... Thanks in advance kind sir.. Tim..
Turn on the radio with the PTT and 1 button pressed, then the radio will unlock the frequency range and enable the VFO function directly. I did that on my brand new UV8000E this morning and the regular lineup just like magic reappeared. IT WORKED FOR ME!!! The VHF before the unlock was indeed 144-148 Mhz afterward, it was 136-174 Mhz and the UHF was 420-450 after the unlock it went to 400-520 Mhz. I checked them both on a scan and they're where I wanted those to be. Now I'm having trouble getting both frequencies to appear on the screen (imo due to a funky unimpressive menu system) at the same time instead of one or the other. I'd really like to do a complete reset but I can't seem to find anything on something that's probably too complicated as well like that must be. So I'm going to be bugging Radioddity Monday until I get what I need. At least the Baofeng's (that both are easier to work with then this UV8000E) were a little more instinctually honest but right now I'm not really too happy with my TYT purchase everything considered. And I have yet to hear anything on it although doing a reset would just make my day by making that possible - I think. Anyway good luck!!
wat buttons are you pressing and in what order? Thanks
Thanks! I've been trying to figure out forever how to reset after settings got messed up from an old CHIRP version.
