I’m so excited for this, I’ve been looking forward to Academy ever since I saw your video about it when it hit JP!! The new Resna is super cute, and I am a sucker for Sophie, so I’m hoping for both of them. I’ve had a streak of bad luck for the last few banners, and I’m really hoping Academy breaks that - similar thing happened around when Christmas Resna released lol
I couldn't figure out how people were staying alive for that last Roman tournament stage to even get a score in the first place, no matter what team setup I tried those enemies just demolished me...
The thing is, I used a tank but the lv 80 mushroom enemy still 1-tap'd my fully upraged lv 80 rose val since its attack is randomized (I haven't fully maxed my atelier research, though). So, IMO I think you need spesific tanker that can interupt the enemies ST attack.
There were a few ways, but it was pretty rng heavy. For my team I used Heidi as my leader and that defense let anybody who fit survive a golem punch. Then it was a matter of having flocke go after the golem AoE and keeping him broken as much as possible
I also got lucky recently with the global version! Managed to pull Rose Val too. Thanks for such a clarifying review on the event. I'll be skipping the Academy units since I do have Izana, Rose Val and good supporting characters for both of them. I mean, I'll be more than happy if they decide to join me through daily pulls! 😂 But I won't be trying to chase them.

My pulls are mixed, but as I say that Hockey Stick Sophie comes in the tickets. So I guess it's perfectly balanced 😂.
I was lucky with the daily wishes and got the Memoria for Rose Valeria and the one with Izana eating the fish :3. And I continue to apply your advice, I still haven't spent any gems until it's the last day and I already have like 30K.
Totally understand what you said about Roman Tournament and tbh I’m not really that interested in it. It doesn’t seem doable so I’m just happy getting a rank in the 1000s and collecting my meagre rewards every week. As for Academy though, OMG such a high-effort, funny, fully voiced event. Great rewards, great gear, so much to enjoy. A lot of good things and early QoL improvements, so the cash-grabby decisions don’t bother me AS MUCH as they would 😂😊
Unfortunately I only have like 600 gems left after dumping at least 20k of them into Rose banners and getting nothing except for Rose Lydie and a ton of random memorias, so there's no chance of me being able to get any Academy characters unless daily pulls are extremely generous (which is never gonna happen to me). I guess I can eventually get the tickets and pray. I also don't have Izana either, so I kinda need Resna so I can have an actual area attacker. Update: I got her from a random 10-pull, finally the game is nice to me
I'd still love to hear after the fact what you did for strike roman tournament, cause you, in one try and per you, with out the optimal characters which I believe I have, got like triple my best score from my like 5 hours of attempts, so clearly I'm approaching this mode incorrectly. Anyway, appreciate the overview as always, and the explanation on why you didn't address the roman tournament which I admit I was surprised by.
unfortunately it was super last minute for me, so I didn't record it - I used Val/Rose Lydie/Flocke/Empel/Corneria (missing heidi is pretty bad, otherwise team was fine). Flocke is pretty essential to survival, if you didn't have her it would have been pretty hard. I basically wasn't planning on trying until I lucked into her on the last day. Main two things about getting a good score in Roman tournament (in general, not just strike): 1. One shot the adds at the start 2. Get Val onto every single burst panel If you can't manage these things, your score will end up pretty mediocre. I ended up pretty lucky in that the timeline worked out for the bursts and I didn't need to put in that much effort for a decent score. It will usually require a lot of trial and error, it's usually easiest to look at other people's runs and copy their speed/turn order if possible.
@@atelierangelayeah that sounds about right. I only had Rose Val so mine was a mess. Cornelia without like perfect break gear can't do the one tap on boss, Lent without some decent resistance gear couldn't tank the hits properly (and I was too lazy to bank on Esty dodging). Anyone dies too early and all the timing was off. I'll admit it tempted me to pull Heidi, but I was so burnt out from the Rose Val pulls 😂.
That's Super Easy on Trial Challenge Air, Even Without Academy Resna or Academy Ryza, I Can Clear it Until Floor 10 with Escha, Firis & Meruru as well Rose Flocke as Backup/Crit Damage UP
I managed to get 910Kish with Tao and Corneria (also Lydie, Lydie and Empel), saw I was more than 400 places away from getting an emblem, and gave up. To do better I'd have had to re-gear my party to change the speed tuning and spend at least an hour working out the new setup, and I wasn't going to do that. I couldn't really give Lydie more healing because Tao was barely one-shotting the Mushroom post-break as it was, and I had to break the Mushroom and kill it first because otherwise it would just kill Tao and end the run.
Ranting about scummy gacha practises when it happens is healthy for the game, especially when a content creator does it. That shit needs to be called out when it's this blatantly malicious, and frankly there's way too many apologists in this community. That being said I understand maybe not wanting to potentially hurt the relationship with the company, but then again you're the biggest Resleriana content creator for Global (as far as I can tell) so it's reasonably they who should not want to hurt the relationship.
The strike Roman tournament was crazy, my whole team got wiped in like 3 turns. No idea how you're supposed to survive that. The strike tower was hard, but I somehow managed to pull it off with Lent as my damage dealer on floor 7, since I didn't have a single strike attacker able to target all enemies. Both were definitely targeted to get you to spend money on Rose Valeria, because both of these were almost impossible without her for most people.
I've used Logy as my DPS pretty much since the launch, i saved gems for about 300 pulls to Rose Val. Didnt get her. Got Resna on my first pull. Thank god i can play some other team soon.
I didn't get Wresna yet (but it's goes on for a month so i'm not worried yet) i did get Sophie however though. I know it's a modern AU...but am i the only one that finds the story super boring? It took me so long to slug through it yesterday lol. The fact that it's probably a 3 part event drains me, too. At least the score battles, ex's and sp's are ridiculously easy though (i do like the fact we have a mat now that gives both spu and/or cdu so i'm not stuck with a crappy V trait.) For the roman tournament...i can get around 3.5 mil and i can't seem to exceed that no matter what i try (doesn't help that the fodder enemies are apparently immune to taunt and can easily oneshot my attacker). Since there're only 7 affinities i assume the tournaments will rerun eventually at least i got the bronze emblem lmao. You're not the only one that has gone on a rant about it, Shal and Malok are also not happy about it and with it initially being released early during other events, it was also mentally exhausting. Hopefully it gets better though.

Since Academy Resna has a ton of buffs she can get from herself, equipment, and memoria, is it better to try for Damage Buff A in traits instead of Crit Damage? Thanks as always for the informative videos.
It's usually going to be better when you have the full combo setup, yes. Outside of that it'll be a fair amount worse. Though since the full combo probably kills everything that's fine lol. Without a good memoria, they'll be pretty close, I recommend adding up all the stats you have and checking the math yourself. Whether or not it's worth it to you to go for the buff A gear over crit will vary based on what you have and whatnot Main thing is that depending on how much each of skill dmg and crit dmg you have, it's possible that double skill power (with one of them being skill 2 power) is stronger. Requires doing the math yourself for your particular setup
I thought I was good on Roman Tourney being at #834 with a few hours to go. I slid all the way out to #1048 or so at the end, which annoyed me. Yea, Roman Tournament is gonna be always sweaty as hell.
Resna will still function just fine without the other Academy units, you will have to work alittle harder since her gimmick revolves around the blue panels giving her the buffs

currently on global, best team is probably flocke and slash rorona also, though characters like bolt logy and slash ryza are also fine on JP i tend to run Izana/Onsen Klaudia/Air Totori/Lydie/Bolt Wilbell, sometimes dropping totori for swimsuit resna or flocke if i don't need the taunt

Not to sound like an apologist, but we have to be grateful for all the GREAT things they’re giving us. The improved login rewards and so many QoL improvements came early for global, but we still haven’t lost the daily pulls yet, which makes me happy!
Sad that I didn't get Acad Resna, but i got Acad Sophie with my 10 tix and her drip looks sick. The next 10 tix tho i got Lydie that I don't have with Plachta which surprised me

Gacha game often made absurd event so not thinking too much. Have enemies like Puni and Armored knight as students in classroom is absurd enough. Plus the event actually in modern setting (there is a car, laptop) which not happen in other Atelier games.

Ryza kind of extrovert person so made her gyaru/gal maybe fit her more than other characters try to do same thing.

Defender + really good healer gear on AoE healer. I think you needed max research to not need a defender.
I'm use 1 def , 2 aoe heal , 1 atk dan 1 breaker although not score high but it's survive

Did like 150 pulls troughout all the rose banners, got no rose units whatsoever, just two dupes and that was it. 😀 I hope school will treat me better.
I confuse how people in grand tournament can get 16million damage , I only get 400k damage T.T with full buff item & max character

WHat traits for Resna? Skill + Crit or Skill + EDBA? And for Sophie? Just recovery?
