- Many foods are limited in people with CKD (like high protein diet) to reduce serum creatinine or in an attempt to slow down the progression of CKD or kidney disease or failure. Similarly high potassium and phosphate foods can not only have effect on heart and bone metabolism but some data suggest that high phosphate foods may also effect serum creatinine level too. In order to reduce serum or blood creatinine level people stop taking these foods. You don’t have to stop taking but just reduce to the level recommended by different guidelines so that you do not deprive yourself of essential vitamins and amino acids in these foods but also avoid protein malnutrition. In this video I discuss how you can enjoy all the prohibited foods while keeping your blood creatinine test or kidney function at check or controlled. You need to discuss your unique situation with your nephrologist so that you may eat what is right for you.

Very useful tips for CKD patients, Mashallah.
I have some other questions on diet and supplements which I sent by WhatsApp yesterday.

Sir I've a horseshoe kidney with bilateral PUJ obstruction mild on the right side and moderated on the left side,
and left hydronephrotic kidney too.
Recent renal scan (DTPA) shows reduced bilateral renal function 42GFR.
0.9 creatinine and 30 blood urea recent blood report shows
Normal CBC report.
urine reports both Urine culture and complete tests are normal too.
Sir kindly tell me Can I do fasting in Ramadan.
As my urologist told me to drink water via sips not a full glass of water at once due to PUJ
