As someone said there is "The Tudors" TV series which is a sexy Showtime drama that sometimes deviates from history for the sake of good TV. There's also a docu-drama presented by Lucy Worsley "Secrets of the Six Wives" that is available on Amazon (or free if you google search it).
How would they get access to them? The only time the Catholic Church had any influence in England after Henry was during Mary’s reign, and her position was the marriage to Anne was illegitimate to begin with and thus no longer a threat to her rightful rule.
Kings did get annulments from the Pope in those days - the kings of Europe did, to get rid of an older inconvenient wife, and for dynastic reasons, for alliances and financial or political reasons. But Katherine of Aragon being who she was, with the Emperor on her side, the political situation in Italy etc, the Pope could not grant this annulment. He was hoping the king would tire of Anne and he had former mistresses, or that one of them - Henry, Katherine or Anne would die, as was common then, and he wouldn't have to make an enemy of the king or the Emperor. But none of that happened.......and the results were cataclysmic for England and all the players involved.
"It broke my heart to see that you loved others". Anne loved Henry.....she may not have in the beginning but she did come to love him deeply. If she didn't love him she wouldn't have been jealous of the mistresses........she was Queen, she had money and a certain amount of power....she had her daughter whom she loved, and was in hope of a son. If she hadn't loved Henry she wouldn't have cared about his infidelities.........
I don't say Anne didn't love him but I don't think it was that simple. And first of all your argument that she wouldn't have been jealous if she wouldn't have loved him is invalid since jealousy has often nothing to do with love. I was in a relationship with someone (let's call him Daniel) diagnosed with the narcissistic personality disorder. That means he wasn't able to love me. He only loved the benefits he got from the relationship. He was the most jealous of all of my partners I ever had. I couldn't even mention an Ex in a completely innocent way like once I told someone a funny anecdote about an ex of mine in presence of Daniel. Daniel became so angry of me that I dared to mention the name of my Ex "as if it would mean nothing" (his words - because actually it really meant nothing because in this anecdote it could have been anybody and was just a coincidence it was an Ex) that Daniel yelled at me in the presence of the other one. His jealousy wasn't about love at all it was only about ownership. In his mind I was rightfully his possession. And it was about his ego and pride what got hurt when I dared to mention my Ex's name to a third person in a none negative way - although I didn't even mention it was an Ex. And Anne for sure was a proud person. Other than my Ex rightfully though.
Anne Boleyn, of all the women in the world, knew the danger of a mistress. Even though it may be that she never slept with the king until they were married (secretly), she still had been able to "take a man away from his wife". She, above all women, knew how vulnerable she was. Even more so than Catherine of Aragon, since Catherine had royal relatives.

The ironic thing is that if Henry had stuck to his plan of marrying a French princess, or anyone other than Anne Boleyn, he was more likely to get his annulment from the Pope. The Pope issued dispensations all the time for kings and princes to divorce inconvenient wives - especially if they were past child bearing age. But because Anne was a commoner and not royalty the Pope would not risk his neck with the Emperor for what he believed to be a passing phase with the king.......that he would tire of Anne and stay with his wife, or that Katherine or Anne or Henry might die and the Pope wouldn't have to take any unpopular action.

Monarch's married to form political alliances and Anne didn't have a political power to advocate for her if it was necessary. It was quite the opposite. Most of the foreign powers were against her, the Church demonized her, and she was reviled by a majority of the citizens. She had to protect herself in any way she could because she knew better than anyone how fickle Henry was and she had to keep his interest. There was absolutely no way that he would Divorce her if he wanted someone else. When you think of the monumental "bs" that everyone had gone through just so he could be with her, Divorce was not an option. I have to believe that Anne would do whatever she had to do to keep his focus on her. Ultimately he got bored with her, he had no heir and probably had countless people around him that disliked Anne so much that Henry's resentment was undoubtedly fueled by their contempt for her. There was so much at stake, and Anne simply could not afford to have any rivals.
Anne made the king wait so long after a seven year courtship, ultimately consummating their love and that by the time they were married he wanted to get straight down to producing an heir. When all didn’t go accordingly, he was already over it all.
If you want to know what the young Henry VIII looked like, before he was obese, think Prince Harry. Wonder if, when Anne was in the tower, and she knew Jane Seymour was going to take her place, if she FINALLY considered KOA's feelings, and how she and Henry treated KOA and Mary. Shoe was definitely on the other foot. I've always felt so bad for KOA!!!

I feel like Anne did love Henry. Although, she was ambitious politically I dont feel like she initially ever expected or wanted to be a Queen. I think she had a lot of self respect in the sense that she wasn't going to just settle to be a mistress. She would have thoughtfully thought of her children as bastards. I think Anne wanted more for herself and fell in love with Henry in the process. Over the long strenuous years of the divorce and political and religious enemies at court weighed heavily on Anne and Henry as well. I think Henry did suffer a traumatic brain injury that affected the way he dealt with people later in his life. I believe Anne's enemies took advantage of Henry's skepticism, impulsiveness and mistrust and targeted Anne at the perfect time. Henry most likely did believe she these rumors at first and acted swiftly out of anger. Over the years, I think he realized what he had done fairly quickly after he had her beheaded and he was never the same afterwards. Sure he was never going to publically admit his fault and error but I'm sure he had many more scruples in his head after he murdered the love of his life. I dont feel it all had much to do with not having a son right away as they explain over and over. Sure, having had a son might of saved her life but it wasn't the reason he murdered her.
An interesting theory that Anne wasn't withholding sex, but possibly Henry was. I always thought it would probably have been impossible for her to deny him if he wanted her.

Half of me want to scream at Anne for being so ambitious and marry a married king and his poor wife suffered being thrown away...rest of me knows I'd have done the same...the temptation was way to great to resist it, even for a pious person
To be fair, I think that Anne thought that Henry was gonna get tired of chasing her eventually, I don't think that she really thought that he was going to divorce catherine. Anne was definitely not perfect, but was innocent of all this accusations, and deep inside, Henry knew that too.

Letters were copies. Book of hours is the original. These days conservators have realised that with velum (animal skin used as paper), that there is likely less damage with well washed hands than with gloves. Access though is extremely limited.

That's very unrealistic. Henry was looking for a way to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon that had nothing to do with Anne Boleyn. It was just a coincidence that egged him on more sharply - *&* made his quest *harder*. If he'd been trying to marry a foreign princess that Spain approved of, he'd've had the annulment as soon as he asked for it.

This is very interesting. I've always thought that Anne Boleyn was framed because she wasn't able to give Henry the male heir he wanted.

I feel like Anne did love Henry. Although, she was ambitious politically I dont feel like she initially ever expected or wanted to be a Queen. I think she had a lot of self respect in the sense that she wasn't going to just settle to be a mistress. She would have thoughtfully thought of her children as bastards. I think Anne wanted more for herself and fell in love with Henry in the process. Over the long strenuous years of the divorce and political and religious enemies at court weighed heavily on Anne and Henry as well. I think Henry did suffer a traumatic brain injury that affected the way he dealt with people later in his life. I believe Anne's enemies took advantage of Henry's skepticism, impulsiveness and mistrust and targeted Anne at the perfect time. Henry most likely did believe she these rumors at first and acted swiftly out of anger. Over the years, I think he realized what he had done fairly quickly after he had her beheaded and he was never the same afterwards. Letters were copies. Book of hours is the original. These days conservators have realised that with velum (animal skin used as paper), that there is likely less damage with well washed hands than with gloves. Access though is extremely limited.

That's very unrealistic. Henry was looking for a way to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon that had nothing to do with Anne Boleyn.
