About the leg bracers thing. My dad had the same problem. His kneecaps weren't facing forward when he was a kid so he had to wear the bracers so he could walk straight. Now he has his feet facing a bit out, like in a V shape, when he walks but he's completely normal.
I always thought it was for club feet. My dad had club feet and was a Guinea pig for the braces seen in Forrest Gump, or at least so he told me growing up. I do have his actual casts that were designed to grow with him that he got from Shriner’s Children’s Hospital
Wasnt't jenny's story super sad? Her dad molested her, she ended up looking for herself and never knew wat healthy love is, and is ultimately punished for her journey and does the best thing she can to protect her kid.
The best thing she could've done was ruin Forrest's mental state and dump a child who clearly wasn't his onto him , knowing full fucking well she was talking advantage of his mental state. That's nasty.
Him tripping over his own feet, in his graduation gown is a mood. I think Laal is supposed to be autistic (or coded as autistic) due to the “mmmmmm” being very similar to a vocal stim. Some things I noticed: 1) The mother being 'well off' in this version could still play into Laal being physical and mentally disabled as despite her wealth, it wouldn't do anything to help her son, especially when we see that she cares for him but he still gets relentlessly bullied and she has to go to cleaning to get him into school, which with her wealth would be a massive step down since she and Laal would be used to people cleaning for them but since she loves her son and wants the best for him, she'd get on her knees and clean and cook just to give him that. It also plays a bit when she has to cut his hair in order to protect him; her wealth wouldn't save him and she knows that and she did the only thing she could in order to protect Laal. 2) Muhammad's relationship with Laal seems more akin to Laal being so pure and naive that he doesn't see Muhammad as the enemy even though Muhammad is VERY aware of what he did. This is why he's angry at first but Laal's refusal to see him as 'the enemy' (mostly because he isn't aware of it) may have turned Muhammad around and made him realize that his hatred is based on nothing. He has 0 reason to hate Laal like he had 0 reason to be in the front-line other than it was just something he was ordered to do. So him taking over the clothing business in the end is him overcoming his prejudices as well as living out the goal of the person he killed because in the grand scheme of thing, that's the best restituion he could do, at least in a ultra happy-ending setting like this. The HMMMMS though. Don't just a man, Leo! He's clearly very hungry!

I actually really like the Malaria metaphor in the context of the religious conflicts of India, it's clear that he grew up sheltered by his mom who kept him away from the mass murders by scaring him with malaria when it was really sectarian conflict. So it's actually a pretty dope metaphor when Muhammed says he suffered from it himself, he's talking about having hated Hindus and no longer seeing things the same way
I hate to say it, but I have a cousin that's mentally disabled, he's also on the spectrum, and he occasionally makes noises very similar to the actor's "mmmm" noise. I feel like... I feel like it's an unkind parody. It reminds me of the Tropic Thunder issue and "going full R" in the caricature kind of way. He saw mentally disabled people and instead of doing it with an attempt at sensitivity as they did in the real Forrest Gump they... they just said "okay, r-word person, I got it" and then this movie happened.
Yeah I’m literally on the spectrum and making my sounds now in bed lol as someone who knows both Bollywood and Nollywood well and has been to both n Nigeria and India I would say you’re right it’s a bit much even in the voice over 🙄 but it could be way worse and way less sensitive so we thank God for that
@@maurjoy4104 Well something is clearly going over my head - what's a native english speaker learning a foreign language got to do with confirming english is the 'hardest' language?
@@pootytang69 Those who must learn to speak another language necessarily refer to their own as a benchmark and become aware of their own as only language learners can. As a fluent French speaker, learning that language has taught me the trials and tribulations of my native English: massive vocabulary, (three TIMES the number of words as French), lack of grammar rules; plus phrasal verbs and preposition patterns, spelling anomalies, and wacky tenses like the present perfect. French subjunctive verb machinations, feminine/masculine delineation and even suffix pronunciation gymnastics PALE before the ins and outs of English - in comparison. English simply IS one of the most difficult languages to master.
While its kind of unhinged, I thought the enemy being the "Lieutenant Dan" was kind of cool and added an interesting sub plot because technically they were both products of the war they had to fight in no matter the side they happened to be on. Even though he killed "Bubba" its not like it was personal. Idk I just found it to be the most interesting part.
There are actually 2 Indian zombie movies one is a horror comedy called "go Goa gone" (Bollywood movie) and the other one is a Tamil film called mirudhan , i absolutely love this movie and you should definitely watch it. In Narcos, their Spanish was mixed with Portuguese. I know Bollywood is different but my dad explained that there’s no real translation for certain dialects to English. Being that this movie is a mirrored to an American movie it required different dialects to apply it as closely as they could.
I don’t know why it would get any type of backlash for using different languages?? I have watched a ton of South Indian n Bollywood movies n they do that all the time. It’s completely normal? I am not Indian but most Indians speak more than one language and they switch between languages alllll the time. It’s not too hard to read subtitle here n there.

About 2 minutes into this video, I paused it and went to watch the movie on Netflix. It was mostly hilarious, but there were a few great scenes. Intense, heart breaking… left you wanting more. They definitely missed a great opportunity early in the movie. I came back later to watch this review and it was mostly right, but there were a few details you missed. One example being how after Mohamed was patched up and discharged, the military personnel were trying to find out what his name was and even asked Laal, but he never responded. They didn’t know he was the enemy, and he wasn’t talking after he came out of recovery. So I agree that it was idiotic that he recognized him and called him by name at the New Years reunion. Also… I noticed your shots stopped being shots half way through. I’m writing this on shot 10, but realistically, it’s at shot 7 or so. Next time fill ‘em up. lol 😂
Forrest Gump wore the braces on his legs because he “…was born with strong legs, but a crooked spine.” (AKA - scoliosis). Other common reasons for braces like this are Cerebral Palsy and hip Dysplasia. In a lot of cases of Cerebral Palsy, the neurons controlling the movement of the legs misfire, causing the muscles to contract far too forcefully when walking. The point of the braces in that case, is to teach the child how to control the movement of their legs to an appropriate strength, as allowing the legs to continue to have this issue unchecked, can result in the person with CP “walking themselves into a wheelchair”, for lack of better phrasing. It’s very likely that the character of Forrest Gump had a combination of both scoliosis and CP, based on the way he moved, and the fact that he also had intellectual issues. While it doesn’t always result in cognitive issues, the cause of CP is a elision on the brain, which can indeed cause the type of cognitive issues that Forrest Gump displayed. The other common reason for this kind of leg brace in childhood is congenital hip dysplasia (now known as developmental hip dysplasia). The brace used to treat this condition (the Pavlik harness/brace) was invented in the 1940’s, so it is very likely that if this were the case for the character of Forrest Gump, a brace would have been used over corrective surgery.

I dont thing German one would slide well in todays public, knowing time period :D
Yeah I’m literally on the spectrum and making my sounds now in bed lol as someone who knows both Bollywood and Nollywood well and has been to both n
Nigeria and India I would say you’re right it’s a bit much even in the voice over 🙄 but it could be way worse and way less sensitive so we thank God for that
agree that the scene where his mom cuts his hair does align well with original forest gump vibes, like trials/hardship etc
The way Leo calls English the hardest language in the world makes me choke on my vodka
But it's true. You definitely realize it as soon as you try to learn a foreign language as a native English speaker
@@ukchanak That makes no sense.
@@pootytang69 I'm a university English professor and It makes perfect sense.
28:43 At that time ₹10 was a huge amount
While its kind of unhinged, I thought the enemy being the "Lieutenant Dan" was kind of cool and added an interesting sub plot because technically they were both products of the war they had to fight in no matter the side they happened to be on. Even though he killed "Bubba" its not like it was personal. Idk I just found it to be the most interesting part.
There are actually 2 Indian zombie movies one is a horror comedy called "go Goa gone" (Bollywood movie) and the other one is a Tamil film called mirudhan , i absolutely love this movie and you should definitely watch it.
Edit : English is the most easiest language lol try learning Malayalam,Tamil or Sanskrit 🤣🤣🤣
What about Shree, wasn’t she a zombie?
@@elainewitham2466 wasn't she like a ghost or something?? I wouldn't call that a zombie movie tho.
@@advlia686 Now that you mention it, I’m sure you’re right. I saw it along time ago and I just remember this girl popping up everywhere with blood all over her and looking crazy usually late at night outside in the dark.
English is the hardest language not because it looks "simple" but for foreigners it's hard learning the Grammer rules etc
HELL YES THIS WAS MY FAVORITE VIDEO OF YOURS HOMIE! I found your channel cause of this and have been keeping up ever since. You are hilarious and make my day brighter man, thanks for the content 🤙🏼
The wind just kinda blew me this way and am glad I came. Watched the WHOLE thing because I was enthralled. You have the juice and it's not in the bottle!
The way Leo said English was the hardest language to lean made my Indian heart hurt 😭
Thought I was crazy I was excited to see this review waited on watching than it disappeared. Thank you for reuploading it I had many good laughs throughout. Worth the wait and confusion
I'd love to see your take on a classic like Om Shanti Om!
love from a punjabi fan :)
leo you’re so funny i am seriously about to sit through this re-edit as if it’s a new video
I haven't laughed this hard in awhile, damn this was too funny.
leo i love these 1hour + videos dude ! keep up the good work! entertaining af
So unfortunate you had problems with yt etc with this video but I’ll gladly watch it a second time :) this deserves more attention
Next time fill ‘em up. lol 😂
There's a doctor at my local hospital that does the Mhmm thing.
It seriously makes me want to deck him.
This the shit I needed on a rainy Friday night!
Sad you had to go through editing this but I'm glad it's up again. It's the video that was recommended to me and what made me subscribe. Looking at the comments I'm not the only one - so it's great that it's up again.
I would love to see you reacting to more Bollywood movies, your commentary is always insightful, hilarious and on point! Keep up the excellent work! 💗😊
I’d love for him to do Duplicate. Just watched it for the first time and I was dying from laughing.
I agree!! I laughed so hard!! ❤
The guy playing as Forrest Bollywood looks more like Mr. Bean🤣🤣🤣
My doctors usually tell me it's all in my head without treating me...
Don't even care if it's a re-upload, still gonna watch!
Watched this originally and loved it, gonna sit here checking the Storm Prediction Center, and rewatch this to stay calm.❤
LEO IS THE MAN💯Always count on him to put out a video that is at least 30min....+hour&30 of Leo....YES PLEASE!! You always bring us the best stuff. Hope you and your fam are doing well, Leo and that you all have a blessed weekend💯🙏Also hope that everyone watching has a blessed weekend! BTW....Don’t sleep on Bollywood...IT IS FIRE AF💯
I’m glad I watched this when it was first uploaded, and I’m watching it again now lol. Love u Leo thanks
Leo: Indian movies don’t have sexual content.
Indian movie: kid grabs girl’s shirt pocket.
I would love a reaction video to the Indian version of "The Office", I was mildly impressed.
I really liked this video. Glad it’s back up. Watched the first upload like 3 or 4 times. Looking forward to finishing the new edit.
Alternative drinking game, take a shot every time Leo says “the ENEMY”.
Am i in the mandela effect or was this video uploaded before?
Thank you! I am also a bit confused.
he said youtube took it down because of copyright but he got it back
He did! Wondering what changed this time around
I would watch that scene over and over, looking at Lt. Dan's legs just trying to figure out how they did. I even tried to recreate it by tucking my feet into my shorts but it was too obvious. I was 100% baffled by this for years until they told on themselves.
Spent the past two months looking for this review so I could watch it again... So worth it 🤣 all the subs to you
this was super interesting. this is my first time encountering your content and i really enjoyed it. bollywood has this wholesome glamour that reminds me of old hollywood, but i have no idea what's what or who's who, so this is super cool.
(oh, hey. one guitarist to another, when i was like 6 and my old rocker dad gave me my first guitar, he told me to always rest my guitars on their string side so if they slip and fall, they're more likely to land on replaceable metal parts instead of the wood of the neck or body, and it's saved my guitars from damage sooooo many times. just thought i'd share :)
Long time subscriber, this is one of your best videos! Very funny! Glad to see it back up :)
Just wanna say your videos make my days easier and hope you're well 🌻 Appreciate ya
You should break down that bollywood cyborg movie where they CGI the guy on the bridge whipping out like 100 assault rifles on a bridge and obliterating the police driving at him.. it's called "Enthiran" apparently the most expensive movie from India ever?
Is this a repost?
yeah
Yes, it is. It has to be unless we both are having dejavu
Definitely
Leo said it got copyrighted and he had to take it down and re edit it so he could re upload it
Ye, Leo made a post about it. He said youtube took it down because copyright so he edited it and re-uploaded
Now let’s all take a shot every time leo says Forest Gump instead of LSC😂🥃
I found your channel yesterday and went on a binge.
I'm so glad it led me to this masterpiece hahaha
love the auto generated captions reading LOL every other time leo says laal
"I don't know if you've been shot in the arse..."
Loved watching this a few months ago. It was one of my favorites don’t mind watching again with my boyfriend this time
I had a really pleasant dream and laughing in my sleep while listening to your review of Forrest Gump Bollywood remake. It's awesome!! Thank you for the re-editing work and the reupload. It's worth it.
When I made those expressions and looked around I got dizzy and my face hurt. I wanted to watch the full movie just to count the "mmmm" but I'm afraid my head would explode
Crash is one eyeing this from behind the couch...
Omg thank you reuploading this again !! I loved it and made me laugh so much thank u ❤
I love that they have an underwear business because it reminds me of orange is the new black lmao
Jeepers creepers where'd you get those peepers🤣🤣 the Indian Mr. Bean
I shit you not I watched this while I was high (as I currently am) and my feet legit hurt after watching this. So much running.
Omfg have u ever seen the Indian version (with dancing!) On Nightmare on Elm Street? Dancing Freddy's Kruger? AMAZING!
The way i rejoiced seeing you I’m broke back mountain ahahaha
He's done similar acting in the movie PK and got praised for it which probably made him carry out the same expressions here to get more praise but what he doesn't know is that in PK he was an ALIEN this in totally different role, he needs to adapt
This is the video that made me subscribe to sixteenleo. I was so heartbroken when it was gone.
...I thought I imagined this video. I watched it the day it came out and wanted to show my brother. Then it was gone 👀 I was like "I swear! He made a video about Indian Forest Gump!"
I haven't seen this movie, but I can't stop rewatching your roast. This is the kinda content I signed up for. MmmMmmMMM~
I love this video, now I have the perfect excuse to watch it again, keep up the good work Leo!
I swear you made this video already lmao I've seen someone cover the movie, I need to see it lol
he has, you're not tripping, i wonder if they took it down or something
i'm pretty sure it is a repost
also having deja vu over here, I think it's a reupload 😅
@@DETECTIVESPACEMAN09 ye ye, he made a post about it, I think it's pinned. He had to re-edit it and re-uploaded it
Was not ready for that Mario kart edit lol
omg thanks for the reupload paaji!
The way I found you too.
Hey Leo I’ve been here since the lily singh vids. I’ve been a fan of your music but feel off on TH-cam for a bit, but I love these hour bangers you’re making. I felt compelled to comment because I imagine these are taxing to make. Thank you
The edit of Gump switching from English to Chinese made me pee my pants 😂😂😂😢
in all fairness you really only poured/sprinkled a combined total of like one shot
That was a fun review. Your awesome.
But you kinda let me down not knowing what indian war was happening as the equivalent to vietnam in Forest Gump
I'm so glad I found your channel, Leo. You're so funny and entertaining! Keep up the great work!
Re upload? I’ll watch so you get the view lol
This is my favorite video. Fifth time warching it. Love your work, Leo!
