    NORTH AMERICAS BEST BUILT CLASS B RV? Pleasure-Way crafts a B Van like few others. ***??? What do you like best about this Plateau TS Camper Van?

      Quality! But again I want at least a 3000 watt inverter and at least 9600 watts of power. No one us paying attention to the need yo run AC more and more?!! Wonder about a Volta up fitting.

      I am once again...NOT impressed. I do like their style, but they still lack that ever missing trait of INNOVATION...it is the same ole floor plan done 100 different ways with styling and decor. I like the modern look of some of these vans, but their floor plan is meh....plus I hate to have to make a puzzle bed or having to convert a lounge area for sleeping each night! I either must have a murphy bed or a rise and lower system like many of the adventure vans...who wants to have to make up a puzzle bed every night? Not this guy!!! Also, the bathroom backing up to the driver seat is a big NO NO for me!! ...oh, and then of course MUST HAVE VOLTA!!

    I’ve spent $200 annually for 4 years, 45k miles, to maintain my 2017 plateau ts 3500 chassis. Much better than expected. Did the fuel filter myself and saved $300.

  • @TheCountryLifewithColumbusMark

    I realize this video is old. I just found it. I have a 6-year old Pleasure-Way Lexor. That's the model built on the Ram Promaster. Same battery system and generator (though, my generator is not the quiet one. They do say it meets NPS standards). Just to clarify, there is plenty of power with the 200 amp lithiums to run the microwave. It's only the AC that you must either be on shore power or using the generator. I did just recently replace my 3-way fridge with a Norcold 12-volt compressor. I definitely like that better. Thanks for the great video. I have no desire to trade vans, but I would definitely consider another Pleasure-Way. It is definitely solidly built. I mean, I've hardly had to fix anything whatsoever.

  • @joycem2795
    @joycem2795 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Absolutely love the Plateau TS model, this is my dream rig. Would love it if they switched to a 12 volt frig and offered an option of adding more batteries. I’ve heard so many PW owners complain about the 3-way frig, hoping PW changes to a 22 volt in the future.

  • @RoadsofLife
    @RoadsofLife ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Have to agree with your likes and dislikes. PW was one of our top RVs to buy (before we found Embassy). We were looking at the Lexor FL model but I don't think they have it anymore. Love the fit and finish and the layout, especially the back which seemed very open. The only drawback, as you pointed out, was that proprietary and rather anemic battery system... just too little power that needed propane and a generator to fully power the van. Great video as always! Be seeing you!

    One of the things that got me looking at vans was seeing "Ozzy and Jack's World Tour" series--Ozzy Osbourne and his son Jack traveling in a PleasureWay van. They actually started out in a motor home from the 80s like the one Ozzy used on tour back then, but it unsurprisingly broke pretty quickly.

    I want this, except... minimize the closet to about 6 inches. (I'm not taking a lot of hanging clothes camping.) Move the bathroom back into that space we just created. And, fit a shallow laptop desk behind the driver's seat with a second TV/monitor mounted on a swing arm above. Lagun table mounts front and back. Delete the built-in induction cooktop and have one in a drawer that can also be used outside. Maybe even lose some of the kitchen counter near the sliding door and fit a folding jump seat for another passenger up front. OK. That's actually a lot of changes. But, I love this bathroom setup, fridge and convection microwave. The Plateau FL isn't as nice for those.

  • @havingfunatthis
    @havingfunatthis ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you, Scott. I agree with most of the comments. The "business" side of the van is too obvious for those who have an HOA. They are excellent and high quality but short on being practical in south Florida's humidity/heat. A lift be makes such sense - above in the back is wasted space otherwise and gains a large garage.

  • @janetfolkerts5827
    @janetfolkerts5827 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I appreciate the quality of PW and love their kitchen. I was interested in the Lexor TS floor plan but they dropped that floor plan. I would want less clothes closet and a pantry. I would not want the generator, but more solar and battery power. Space is limited on top of a van, however, solar has made major leaps in panels. Also in quieter A/C's. I would the couch removed and have a raised bed giving more storage in the garage like I see in custom built vans. I would have a place for a lagun table to be attached up front.
    I prefer the flat cabinetry, the curved outward doors gives me a feeling of less space, no matter what color. I believe PW should look at the innovations being done in others. For high end, look at the trends in yachts, etc. PW seems behind the times.

    Build quality is top shelf. Very beautiful coach. Shower space...not bad with the radius door. Don't like the isle facing power outlets, at all. They should be a pop up power post, back wall or under cupboard placement. I love my under cupboard power outlets on my Embassy Sport. The cabinets Need a carpet type treatment for the bottoms and side walls for traction and noise.
    You would have to buy a longer Lagun riser bar to raise that table surface much more than shown. I had to do this with my setup for swinging my table over the couch. Cost is about $65.
    Love the temperature controls to allow a set temp. I don't have that flexibility. Love the Norcold. Love the couch that reclines to whatever position you like. Needs a full lithium solution. Does the genny recharge the lithium batteries?

    Pleasureways are beautifully and real quality. Before buying my Travato Kl I seriously looked at the Pleasureway Lexor also on the RAM PM. But it did not have full Lithium and required a noisy gen they also still have the absorbtion fridge. On the floorplan I would want a separate lounge area while someone is sleeping. If you want to really see quality and beautiful construction climb under the van and see how well PW builds things you dont see. If I could have gotten a Volta system in a PW Lexor I would be driving that.

    Probably the only quality manufactured B class out there right now. However…why manufacturers still put propane and generators in these vans is baffling and impractical. Get with the times, up the lithium, get rid of those 2 things, and also instal a 12v fridge instead of the awful 3 way which nobody wants in a van anymore. So expensive with an archaic set up, sadly. as far as that goes.

What premium cabinet is built this way?-None. You have to be honest to keep viewers.
