Apollo: You all know I’m a fan of catchy songs Athena: Then let him go so this musical can continue and Jorge can give us more songs. Apollo:…release him.
I love the sibling relationship between Athena and Ares specifically. Everyone else: "Let me tell you what I think, convince me otherwise if you want idk." Ares: *Has waited centuries for another excuse to argue with Athena and is not skipping a beat*
Ares: Damn, I thought she was Dad’s favorite. Apollo: Soooo, what now?? Hephaestus: I knew I should’ve stayed in my forge today.. Athena is the eldest kid and their big sister. As much as the others don’t rlly vibe with her, seeing Zeus almost smite her to death has gotta be a lil awkward, right??
Not only that she also says "I'll stay inside your heart" which is the last thing his mother said to him in the Underworld song "I'll stay in your heart".
Having his parents play parts in the sagas is so heartbreakingly appropriate for their roles. His mom as Odysseus’ mother in the underworld saga was appropriate because it invoked that horrible feeling of grief and sadness at the idea of your mother passing and you’re too far away to see her before she goes. It’s that feeling of loss that everyone can possibly think of at the idea of losing their parents. He put himself in that position to hear his mother’s voice saying she misses him, that she hopes he’ll come home so she can see him again, that she’s waiting and that she loves him, ‘even if you’re the last thing I see, I’ll be waiting.’, and it definitely helped him drag out that horrible realization that your parents aren’t immortal, that they don’t live forever and one day you’ll be without them and they’ll exist where you can never reach them and they will never see you again. His mother has such a beautiful voice. His father being Hephaestus was brilliant, not only because his dad literally built the sound booth that they use to record the Sagas in, but because of how he has shown Jorge support for this project by helping him and being loyal and hardworking to help his son, and giving Hephaestus that line about loyalty and support was perfect. Brilliant casting in general but immortalizing his parents into his project is like a love letter to them showing his own appreciation and love for them.
BRUH that is NOT how i expected Love in Paradise to go based on the teases. "...all i hear are screams.." Had me frozen god damn. And that final scream for Athena as he breaks down, god the visuals!
The best part is that with Odysseu's state, you can make argument the song overplays Calypso as being much more pushy, the same way any help seems 'forced' and 'unwanted' way to keep you 'trapped' in hell others don't see for what it is when your depressed/suicidal.
I swear Jorge is edging Polites's death. I can see him bring him up in "Would you fall in love with me again" just to ad that extra spice of nostalgia/pain (i say all this in a haha cheerful way)
Apollo: wait wtf this guy has a story? Hephaestus: dosen't want to be here. Aphrodite: the sad Ares: wants to punch athena like a real sibling Hera: wants an excuse to disco Zeus: OH YOU WON? WELL THEN LET ME FREAKING KILL YOU! SECOND PHASE BOSS BATTLE ACTIVATE!
Jorge really didn't joke when he said that the wisdom saga had the most animatics and artist. Also the Herrans have all played their part in the series and that deserves a respect
Epic Athena: Is literally beaten to death by Zeus while trying to save Ody Homer's Athena: Daddy please save Odysseus. Zeus: Oh ofc how could i refuse my favorite child?
But according to old folklore, correct me if I'm wrong, please; didn't Zeus dislike Athena? Or was it Aries he disliked. I know it was one of the God's of war
@@gabbysims3032to be fair, Hephaestus isn’t his son at all. Hera out of spite for how Athena was born willed Hephaestus into existence. When he came out looking less than perfect, she threw him off of Mount Olympus, which injured him to the point the Greek myths mention his legs being crippled.
It'd be like that one Mable scene Athena "im not really a child person" Ody: "then give back the child?" Athena: "no, I'll keep holding him" Idk the confusion in Athenas eyes made me think that😭
i think one of the saddest parts about the end of love in paradise is the fact that penelope is not mentioned once. ody doesn’t hear her voice, because she is his light, and he has lost it
I think it's also because the three people Odysseus hears are the three people Calypso references (whether intentionally or not is unclear) when trying to talk him down - she calls him "Ody" like Eurylochus did, she says she'll "stay inside his heart" like Anticlea did in The Underworld, and then "open arms" is a callback to Polites.
@@ogaoms8985 Exactly. The saga answered the question, literally the song before. Unless there is an exception bcs its Zeus, and Ares himself wasnt sure.
I love how Hephaestus sounds like he just doesn’t care enough about this game and just wants to get back to work. And I never knew I needed a dance off between Hera and Athena until now
The line "trust is not given, it's forged" made me kind of sad considering the way Hephaestus has consistently been betrayed by both his parents and his wife
Jorge got me crying on the cliff scene. This entire time odysseus has been saying that he can do anything without the need of her help and after being beaten down by time without seeing his wife... he is just SO desperate that the only thing he can think of to help is to call out to the one friend that is still alive. Athena. And then Athena just going through it to try and help Ody. 😭
Also, if Athena IS now dead? Then Ody has officially lost all of his buddies. :’( I don’t want her to be, obviously, but that seems like just the kind of tragedy Meester Jalapeño would hit us with…
There is no way Zeus killed Athena, she is his favourite child. And I'm pretty sure Athena saves Odysseus from Poseidon in 600 strikes song. I hope at least.
@@terra4822 I think Jorge also said that Odysseus has a fight with antinuous, he gave us a little sneak peek of that music, and The motif for quick thought is in there, so one would assume that she is still alive, honestly I still wouldn't put it past Zeus to murder his favorite child, but I think some part of him would only acquiesce to her request after she was broken and bleeding(which isn't necessarily how it went in The Odyssey because it seems like Zeus actually wanted to bring Odysseus back from calypso, but this bit of creative freedom actually makes sense considering how many times Zeus threatens to break his children over his knee)
I find it really funny that Calypso switches from "I love you, random man I found on the beach" to "you have no choice in the matter" so quickly before switching back. The whiplash is so funny. She's giving off Yandere vibes lol
@@cloudchiodude6057 Well, Calypso doesn't seem to bad for a goddess. Sure, she's kind of scary, but she's probably just really lonely. I think you two would get along wonderfully!
The way that the piano at the end of God Games transitions from Warrior of the Mind to Legendary when Ody hands Telemachus to Athena is actually driving me insane oh my god
I love how when formally introducing herself calypso’s music changes to be ever so slightly more threatening. Dealing with gods and goddesses the threat is ALWAYS there.
I love that not only did Jorge brought his mom (who voiced Odysseus’s mom) to sing during the underworld saga, but also his dad (who voiced Hephaestus) for this saga too! That’s so cool! edit: WHAT THE HECK DID ZEUS JUST KILL ATHENA?!?!?! 😭[she probably gonna come back tho-] BUT STILL HE KILLED HIS OWN DAUGHTER!
Wait Athena is Zeus’s daughter 😦 I read so many Greek mythology books and I never heard of that unless it was just discovered but who did Jorge dad played? If you don’t know that’s ok it’s just cause I saw your comment and I just was like huh?
@@Star-jksz2518 Athena was borne from Zeus' head-- I've seen stories where Athena has no actual mother, but there are others that cite Metis as her birth mother (she was swallowed by Zeus because I think their was some prophecy that if Metis' bore a son, he would grow to be mightier than Zeus)
She also said "I'll stay in your heart" or something like that, like his mom, which we also hear Also, she called him "ody", like Eurylochus used to do
I just noticed when they are naming the gods when its Hephastus’s turn it says (My dad) and then shows someone in the crowd ripping their shirt open to show a heart with Hephastus’s face on it- that was adorable-
Apollo was really grasping at straws trying to convince everyone he hasn’t been on Odysseus’ side since the beginning 😂😭😭 Edit: I would like to drop a little more info on Ody & Apollo. While Apollo was on the opposing side during the war, Ody won Apollo’s favor by returning the daughter of one of Apollo’s priests that Agamemnon had kidnapped. He also went to one of Apollo’s temples and gave an offering. Apollo preceded to assist him throughout the Odyssey, particularly where it concerns archery, as Odysseus is a legendary bowman and Apollo is the god of archery. He even went so far as to send a message to Telemachus through a prophet (Apollo happens to be the God of those as well) reassuring him that his house will remain the most powerful in Ithaca for years to come while on his journey from Argos. You can hear Jorge’s twist on this in the cut songs Unhand him and Apollo, Forgive Me 🏹😊
@@theblaze5530Sirens no sing Ody no good But they sing more Ody good more singing Apollo to Leo Valdez: So back to that Valdezinator, a new instrument. I must have it. Trials of Apollo: So Percy, funny story, father punished me for helping you guys so I'm unfortunately mortal
I just realised that all the times in previous songs where Athena's instrument could be heard were presumably from her going back through Odysseus's past as we just saw
I love how this little game, shows how Brilliant & smart Athena really is. She knows exactly what each of them wanna hear & how to say it PRECISELY. She doesn't try to overpower any of them, she knows better than that (except with Ares, he needs someone to knock some sense into him from time to time :/) {Her little dance moves with Hera, is EVERYTHING 🤣♥️)
@@VegaTheLyra its Zeus. Litterally the king of them all. The guy thats like a diety to the Dieties. Just the way he summons them to this game. They just have to oblige.
The fact that even other gods and monsters were watching in worry for Athena and in shock really shows that it was going too far now. Calypso said before “Last I check, goddesses can’t die.” But this only if a mortal tries to kill them. Can’t say the same when it’s another god who is trying to kill another and also Zeus can practically remove one’s immortality last time I remember so having Athena’s blood be red means… she’s severely hurt. But not dead since Zeus didn’t do a final struck at her. But Athena hadn’t tried to say anything in the end she might have died, so talking (Or in this case, singing) helped her before her dad can finish her off
6:34. Notice how Hephaestus’ song sings Scylla’s rhythm. First Jay got his mom to sing, now he got his Dad in it too. Bet Mike was really happy; and the fact he’s an actual craftsman, he got to voice the god of the craftsmanship.
You’re paying for my therapy.. bawled my eyes out the whole time!!!! I’m hyperfixating on epic and it is consuming my brain cells. You can’t just drop the most devastating plot twist and just leave 😭😭 In all seriousness, I absolutely ADORE this musical!!!! I’m so excited to see where it goes and all the voice actors and artists are INCREDIBLE. I’m just so impressed with everyone!!!!
I've never felt so seen. The end of Love in Paradise was me just a few days ago. I wasn't physically on a ledge but I had made the plan in my head to do it tomorrow while I cried myself to sleep. Ironically, the release of this saga kept me from going through with it. Thank you for the wonderful music you produce Jorge. It definitely cheers me up when I'm in a dark place.
We all wish to peacefully close our eyes without shedding a tear. I hope you find that peace within this life. I hope someone comes and hold your hand to pull you back from your own ledge. ^^
You arent the first person to feel like this, and everyone I know who felt like this told me it gets better. I don't know how old you are, but so many people my age say "at least it's not middle school" because it's gotten better since then. If life's gotten better before, why can't it get better again?
@@jenise21 I’m glad you found comfort in this wonderful musical. Don’t ever feel alone because Gorge has created a community of people that understand each other, and we are all here to support one another. I send you lots of good energy, and the best wishes in your future endeavors. Be strong, be hopeful, and be Epic. ❤️🙏
It gets better. I know it seems like there is no way you'll feel better or life will get easier, I couldn't see it too. But I'm happy I stayed and hope you will too.
Athena gathers strength from thinking back to Odysseus and the moment of true connection they had with baby Tele being born- Athena who said "I am looking for a general not a friend", now getting empowered by that moment and then emerging with the blend of ALL THREE OF THEIR MELODIES MELODIES (Warrior of the mind and Legendary). The song is long over, and I am still crying so much 😔
Typically don't cry to music much, but this stream made me sob my eyes out! This was my first stream (recently got obsessed), and I cant wait for more- the songs were straight fire and the vocals were heavenly!! Athena is alive shhh (in denial)
When Odysseus was singing the line "All I hear are screams" and then the call back to all of the people close to him along with his call of anguish caused me sob. This is now the most beautiful and painful part to listen to. Before it was the "waiting.." part from Underworld. Utterly incredible!!!
At the very end of God Games when Athena was begging, she knew how it felt to be trapped because she grew inside of Zeus' head with her mother. She was only strong enough to get out while her mother stayed trapped, so this became personal with Odysseus being trapped in a place he didn't want to be in. Just like her.
You sir, Captain Jalapeño, cured my depression for a total of 11:20 seconds, before completely shocking it into my body again. What a rollercoaster. 🤸🏻♀️✨
Okay so, if I could just yap for a minute about that ending to Love in Paradise. Cause I have severe PTSD and this is something I was hoping that Jorge would portray in the musical and he did it so masterfully it’s insane. So there’s a book I read a while ago in English class called “The Odyssey of Sargent Jack Brennan” if you haven’t read it I highly recommend it, and it’s basically a comic book about a group of soldiers and how their returns home from Afghanistan are similar to the Odyssey and it covers a lot of topics such as addiction after an injury, the loss of fellow soldiers due to different reasons, and the most deep of them, PTSD after the war. Now in this case specifically I’m gonna be focusing on the ladder two topics. Obviously after everything that’s happened Odysseus is bound to have some serious PTSD, but it hasn’t been shown until now because he’s has a crew he needs to hold strong for, but now that it’s been seven years, he’s probably still bottling up those things, but this time, he’s alone with it, the only person he has is Calypso and I get the feeling he probably hasn’t talked to her about it cause he seems to not trust her much despite her seeming to be worried for him (which I find honestly cute if she wasn’t trying to take him from his wife) BUT ANYWAY, as someone who has Severe PTSD (not from war but from a very close family member) being alone with that Trauma is something that is very painful and dangerous, just living, stewing with these awful memories of your past replaying in your head. This is beautifully portrayed by Odysseus bringing back the Underworld line with slightly changed Lyrics. And then when Calypso sings “Come back safe to my open arms” that’s when it really hits deep for Odysseus. Cause all the memories start flooding back, Polites’ lines from Open Arms come first, then Eurelocus’ lines from Luck Runs Out, and finally, the words of his mother, waiting for him as he teeters on this ledge, seemingly ready to join them all. But in the last few moments, out of desperation to not do what everyone is worried he’s going to do, he yells out for Athena’s help, at this rate, she’s all he has left, the last person he knows he has even the slimmest chance of hearing him and heeding his call, and she does. Now, what I find most interesting is what started that final part the words “Open Arms” because when you think back to it, in the series, Polites’ death was the first major trauma that Ody faced, seeing his best friend who he swore to protect at all costs because of how pure he is, the light in the darkness after the war, killed in front of him, was the first of many traumas because it’s the first time in the Musical that we see Odysseus Freeze up, and this just shows that the grief of what he did still follows him even after 7 years in what most could consider Paradise. And that’s what True PTSD is, it’s having this trauma and not being able to let go even in the best of circumstances that someone could imagine. You’ve outdone yourself Jorge, and somehow you’ve made Odysseus more relatable than a literal book about soldiers healing from trauma could, and for that I must applaud 👏, this may have made me cry because in a way I saw myself in Odysseus, but holy shit man, it’s incredible.
Video game features in God Games 5:16 Intro - Quest 6:32 Hephaestus - Platformer (Geometry Dash 2.2 Platformer Mode) 7:22 Ares - Boss Battle 8:15 Hera - Rhythm game 8:37 Beast Mode Zeus - FINAL BOSS/Dragon Ball Z
He's lost everything. Literally his lowest moment, friends and comrades gone, some that he got killed himself. Having sacrificed all that for the chance to see his wife and son yet even that was taken? Then what was it all for? It's such a powerful moment.
It might make me seem coldhearted, but it really didn't impact me. Hearing Eurylochus did, but not Odysseus's anguish. Odysseus has done far too many terrible things for me to pity him. As for Polites, his death was tragic, but his naive optimism played a large part in it.
The fact that in "Love in Paradise" when Calypso says "Stay in my open arms" it reminds him of Poletes and he doesn't jump. It was my first time watching one of the live streams. It was a Beautiful Masterpiece Jorge.
As somebody that has had to deal with depression and also friends that have to deal with it too Odysseus saying “ just let me close my eyes” and how Jorge sings the line hit me deeper than I thought ❤
I’ve been having a rough go of things lately, and I’ve been feeling like I’m standing on the edge of a cliff…that WHOLE scene was devastating. I’m still reeling from it, emotionally…
Oh yeah definitely. The moment I heard all I hear are screams, I just started crying. It’s just such an artful way of showing his mental state after being sa’ed for 7 years and the depression and desperation that came with that. And of course also being able to relate to it (I think my brain ran away with me for a second there😂 I truly just meant to say that I agreed and that I related too😂)
As someone who is severely depressed and desparate since many years ago, since being a little teenager, I feel the same, I identify so much with that but it was so beautiful
Part of me feels like Odysseus would be pissed at that. "Oh, NOW you're looking for a friend?! YOU ABANDONED ME WHEN I NEEDED YOU MOST!" At least Athena acknowledges that had she handled their last interaction differently, maybe things would've turned out differently. Hell, they may have made it back to Ithaca if she had just told him that Polyphemus is her cousin, the son of Poseidon. Even someone as reckless as Odysseus wouldn't be stupid enough to dox himself to the son of Poseidon.
I love that Hephestus is his dad it fits so beautifully, especially with 'Dad and Jorge build a booth', I definitely think the finale being posted recently was a little hint
@@oflow113even in mythology that’s debatable but since Athena appears later in the Odyssey to disguise odysseus it wouldn’t make sense to kill her here.
@@oflow113no. The only case of a god dying is Pan and even that is debatable. Greek deities are true immortals with no way to put them down for good. However, they can be permanently incapacitated such as how Ouranos was dealt with. Or how Typhoon dealt with Zeus.
@@GioppdumisterOuranus technically wasn’t permanently incapacitated, he just ran away, hence why the sky still exists. A better example would be Prometheus
I'm actually going to die from the way the piano changes at the end of God Games from Warrior of the Mind to Legendary when Ody gives Telemachus to Athena.
@@tektyrant I’m basing it on the fact that Calypso said “last I checked goddesses can’t die”. She’s the goddess of wisdom and war, she has a purpose. Who could possibly replace her? Not to mention I don’t think she dies in the original myth
I physically cannot explain how beautiful the fade from Athena's theme to Telemachus' is, in God Games. I've been watching this ever since the stream and just cannot believe how bone chillingly beautiful that is.
I love how you subverted expectations by making Telemachus and Athena lose to objectively more powerful foes even though they both had a bit of a powerup! (Telemachus with Athena and Athena with her flashback) I may be feeling empty right now from this end but those parallels were really good. You truly do have the mind of a genius Mr. Jalapeño!
Also Athena falling through the quick thought dimension after the thunder hit was exactly the same way Ody fell in thunder bringer, and both of them also had the same flashbacks of their loved ones, their happiest memory ToT
And I loved how when he's hearing screams, Calypso's voice is playing at the same tone as when Penelope's voice in the end of 'Thunder Bringer', with the same purpose, which is to try to help & comfort him.
Pride is a damsel in distress, and Athena finally gave up her pride and begged. Zeus wanted the most prideful goddess to beg for his help, I think the help is given because Zeus got what he wanted-Athena to respect him as the one in charge who needs to be begged for kindness.
At this point though, Zeus has to be the most prideful god. No one can do anything about it because he’s king, but Zeus couldn’t handle his DAUGHTER winning a game he WHIPPED UP IN 5 SECONDS and may have killed her because “No one beats me! No one wins my game!”
I'm so thankful the Wisdom Saga came out on my 18th birthday. I feel so inspired by Legendary and the whole saga brings me so much joy on this very overwhelming day. I was literally crying the whole broadcast, thanks to Jorge and everyone who participated in Epic and for making our lives happier, I love you all very much and you occupy a very very special place in my life.
I love how Calypso's voice changes after she giggles.. it gets deeper for a sec which sent chills CHILLS 🔥 "You're adorable.." it felt like she's talking with a pet she's gonna control.
Tbh a pet is probably exactly how she sees Odysseus. She'll keep him there until she's told to let him go, because that's part of HER punishment. She gets to spend all her days in paradise- but anyone else who comes to the island wants to leave. If I remember right it's because she's technically a Titan? Or something like that.
Anyone else notice that the voices in Odysseus' head during the last part of "Love in Paradise" are the three people he cared most about other than his wife and son? Polites, Eurylochus and his mother
Nooooo NOT THE DIVINE SUGAR MAMA!!!! This is cruelty beyond cruelty to leave us on such an ended! As always I have waited for the release like a fiend waiting for my next Epic fix! You never disappoint, tho you do apparently torture us 😂😂🥰
I cried a lot in the end of the love in paradise, holy! THIS SAGA IS INSANE! The animations and art are so good man, is just crazy, and the way jorge got so excited when the live came back was so funny LMAO! it was amazing watching this with you all! WATCHU GONNA DO ABOUT IT, CHAMP?!
Athena to all gods: „gives arguments that are reasonable” Gods: „ah ok, let it be” Athena with Hera: „He never cheated” Hera without any doubt: „of course he needs to be released”
I mean when some rando you have to decide the fate of is more faithful than your husband, you have to release him, especially if you're the goddess of marriage and family
Just something that’s been in my mind: in the flashback at the beginning of Love in Paradise, we see moments that foreshadow the disagreements in God Games. EXCEPT for Aphrodite. -“We won’t take more suffering from you” = Apollo mentions the sirens -“But we’ll die” = Hephaestus mentions betraying the crew -“I see a song of past romance” = Aphrodite mentions his mom dying, but that was in the PREVIOUS SONG -“Drown in your sorrows and fears” = Ares mentions Scylla -“One wrong move and your done for” = Hera releases him when she learns he hasn’t cheated I do realize that none of the gods truly correspond to Aeolus’ part (unless you count that as the crew disobeying Ody as brought up by Athena with Hephaestus) and Poseidon’s part (Zeus’ unbridled rage???). So maybe this is just a coincidence or I’m looking way too deep into this 😅
At 7:19 whenever Athena says “please reconsider.” I feel like it would be in a cool little detail if she said “please reconsider this, He needs to get home”- because that’s one of the most important lines that Odysseus said, except it was “please reconsider this I need to get home.” But it’s Athena way of saying it
FOR THOSE WHO WANT ANSWERS/SPOILERS (Though I don't recommend them) AFTER SEEING THIS: According to The Odyssey, Athena is very much not dead. It is with her help that Odysseus is disguised as an old beggar so that he can infiltrate his own castle and plan to kill the suitors. Keep in mind, though, that Jorge's obviously making his own adaptation of it, so do with that what you will.
and to add onto this!! in a few clips we see from the final saga, we do hear athena’s motif in the song “king” i believe. unless this has been changed since the teaser clip, she is up and at ‘em by the time that song rolls around :3
Athena is definitely not dead, she is seen in the later sagas helping telemachus fight the suitors (or was she helping Odysseus? I kinda forgot, either way she aint dead, just knocked out)
@@bpyrotroph3670 I mean, Athena is confirmed to show up later, but this is a LOOSE RETELLING. In the original source odyssey sleeps with and has kids with both Circe and Calypso, FOR YEARS, he spent an entire year doing circe.
Wow, just wow! That was freaking EPIC! This was my first livestream that I was able to make and I have never been so happy to get the chance to wake up sleep deprived! First off, the chat was amazing. It felt like an actual concert with everyone spamming the lyrics! Everyone screaming Captain when TH-cam (ugh…) closed the stream was hilarious! I stayed on that closed one for a bit more and seeing things like people singing threats to TH-cam and saying “abandon ship!” was amazing. Plus you have some people putting in the meme versions, Monster was really a true example of this and I wouldn’t have it any other way! The Wisdom Saga itself was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! All the characters are captured perfectly! I especially enjoyed the entirety of Little Wolf. The Telemachus and Athena duo were priceless! I have the “uppercut him yo!” stuck in my head now. Athena’s chant of Little Wolf was also really clever, she turned Antoninus’ own insults against him. I very much love her portrayal in all of this, it’s actually fascinating how she seemed to have changed from the more strict version she was before to being incredibly worried for Odysseus and keeping an eye on his son. Very different, especially when you look at the fact how gods don’t really change in that time *looks at Hermes and Zeus*. It shows Odysseus had a lasting effect on her. Calypso’s song was incredible! It’s so cheery and upbeat and Odysseus is a mix of like “gurl, i just want my wife” and “DEMON BE GONEEEEE!” The ENDING THO! That was horrific to see an animatic of! I was in actual shock that Odysseus was contemplating his LIFE after doing everything he could to get home! And bro…Polities is gonna haunt every Saga now huh 😭. I really loved Ares in God Games and the “THUNDER BRING HER” at the end was INSANE! He just-he just completely beat up Athena! The Master of the arena! AND THEN IT ENDS! I know this comment is very long lol, but the amount of dedication to detail and incredible scenes was sooo much! Thank you Jorge and the EPIC cast! As well as Jorge’s mom and dad and all the talented animators! I’ve never been so invested into songs before, and man, this musical always seems to find a way to stab my heart. I could literally write essays on these characters for how complex they are! So again, thank you Jorge and Full Speed Ahead!
Zeus' attitude towards athena makes more sense if you think back to other myths and how Athena in the beginning of his part of God Games is like his worst nightmare made flesh. It was fortold that his child by Metis was going to overthrow him, it freaked him out so much that not only did he try to murder Athena in the womb, but also pulled a page out of dear old dad's play book and ate his kid before they could overthrow him. But Athena was still born from his skull yet her loyalty seemed proven. Now she's standing against him and able to get 5 gods on his side, just like the siblings behind him that helped him overthrow his father. No wonder he went beast mode on her, he's literally lived this movie from the other side before

And she calls him Ody… Euryclous’s nickname for his Brother in Law and Captain

At the very end of God Games when Athena was begging, she knew how it felt to be trapped because she grew inside of Zeus' head with her mother.

@@disableddragonborn you're right, it does make you look coldhearted

Same here. Especially this past few weeks leading up to this saga the depressions been hitting hard. Odysseus was painfully relatable
It’s the fact that what ody feels is so realistic hurts so much…Like man as someone who struggles with ptsd it just hits home so hard.
Oh my gosh I'm sobbing... "Hold your tongue now, his son's my friend!" What a long way you have come Athena!

8:16 Im genuinely crying why did athena just stand there like that 💀💀 (🧍)
😭
Shes trying her best 😭😭
Dawg she’s taking it light to start with some leg/hip movements as the song builds before the full action. Respect the process brother
@@Tdog773 My bad gang

The surprised Pikachu face was great

And then the crying face for a second

Apollo: you all know I'm the fan of catchy songs
The sirens catch their prey with their song, so Apollo is also a pun master
Can we take a second to talk about how breathtaking Hera’s singing voice is???? I never expected her to sing so amazingly 😍
Ending on an Athena cliffhanger killed my soul just like Zeus killed her😭
Edit: Guys I know gods can’t die, but she got bodied ngl😭
Thankfully she's not dead she's a goddess rmbr 😭
Greek gods can’t die she be fine remember what calypso said goddess can’t die
Right, like now I can’t go to sleep after that.
Did Zeus killl her though?
@@Victoria3WorldConquerer remember calypso said goddess can’t die
I'm so thankful the Wisdom Saga came out on my 18th birthday. I feel so inspired by Legendary and the whole saga brings me so much joy on this very overwhelming day. Epic is a gift to me that has helped me through the last year and brought my indescribable joy.
Thank you from a now 18 year girl who is one on Epic's biggest fans. Thank you to everyone involved in the making of Epic, and the Epic community. So exited for the future of this masterpiece!
Guys… that was INCREDIBLE. I am not okay (and neither is Athena?!) JORGE AND TEAM, Y’ALL’VE OUTDONE YOURSELVES IMMENSELY, HOW DOES THIS MUSICAL JUST GET BETTER AND BETTER WITH EACH SONG??? ❤❤❤
NEITHER IS ATHENA IS DIABOLICAL
I was literally crying the whole broadcast, thanks to Jorge and everyone who participated in Epic and for making our lives happier, I love you all very much and you occupy a very very special place in my life.
So true
That “Aphrodite~” PARTTTT AND HERA’S PART?! AUGSHAMSMDI im in love with this saga
I love how Calypso's voice changes after she giggles..
it gets deeper for a sec which sent chills CHILLS 🔥
"You're adorable.." it felt like she's talking with a pet she's gonna control.
@@grspeca98From what I heard, she's actually a Nymph. Could be wrong.
THANKS JORGE IT WAS AMAZING!!! But the way athena perished, WE HOPE THAT SHE DIDNT DIE! SHE IS MY FAV CHARACTER AND POLITES TOO!
Pretty sure gods cant die (I hope)
luckily athena cant die, and she appears in future sagas !!
@@heartmagica just in the odyssey, or does she appear in some of the demos and stuff he posted..?
Well don’t bring up polities if you don’t want Athena to die because he is with ody’s mom now 💀😬
REAL-
Anyone else notice that the voices in Odysseus' head during the last part of "Love in Paradise" are the three people he cared most about other than his wife and son? Polites, Eurylochus and his mother
Nooooo NOT THE DIVINE SUGAR MAMA!!!! This is cruelty beyond cruelty to leave us on such an ended! At least with the crew at the end of thunder bringer we KNEW they were dead! 💀😭😭
Huge thank you and wow well done to the all those involved in bringing us this latest saga! As always I have waited for the release like a fiend waiting for my next Epic fix! You never disappoint, tho you do apparently torture us 😂😂🥰
Apollo looks like an music idol and I am living for it
He IS a music idol 😅
I mean he is the god of music (alsp health and disease)
8:12 I love Hera she’s literally just the PVZ disco zombie and Jorge plays video games so chances are she was based on them
I cried a lot in the end of the love in paradise, holy!
THIS SAGA IS INSANE! The animations and art are so good man, is just crazy, and the way jorge got so excited when the live came back was so funny LMAO!
it was amazing watching this with you all!
WATCHU GONNA DO ABOUT IT, CHAMP?!
Oh my god. The moment on the cliff.. JORGE U EMOTIONAL ASSASSIN!!! (Tysm for another beautiful saga, we love u jalapeño man!!!)
Athena to all gods: „gives arguments that are reasonable”
Gods: „ah ok, let it be”
Athena with Hera: „He never cheated”
Hera without any doubt: „of course he needs to be released”
I mean when some rando you have to decide the fate of is more faithful than your husband, you have to release him, especially if you're the goddess of marriage and family
6:30 I love the introduction of Hephaestus
@@katileonte6247 Hephaestus’s whole bit genuinely made me so happy. His accent is perfection and I really like the character design.
Finally someone talking about Hephaestus!! 😭
Just something that’s been in my mind: in the flashback at the beginning of Love in Paradise, we see moments that foreshadow the disagreements in God Games. EXCEPT for Aphrodite.
-“We won’t take more suffering from you” = Apollo mentions the sirens
-“But we’ll die” = Hephaestus mentions betraying the crew
-“I see a song of past romance” = Aphrodite mentions his mom dying, but that was in the PREVIOUS SONG
-“Drown in your sorrows and fears” = Ares mentions Scylla
-“One wrong move and your done for” = Hera releases him when she learns he hasn’t cheated
I do realize that none of the gods truly correspond to Aeolus’ part (unless you count that as the crew disobeying Ody as brought up by Athena with Hephaestus) and Poseidon’s part (Zeus’ unbridled rage???). So maybe this is just a coincidence or I’m looking way too deep into this 😅
Apollo’s so nice, he didn’t even bring up the cows
Well technically, they weren't his cows, they were Helios's cows so he probs doesn't mind
and he is supposed to be level ONE
He's level 1, he goes easy
Maybe because the crew already paid the price with their lives so he was chill about it
Different sun god, the illiad and odysse were ancient to the ancient greeks, apollo only later was melted togeather with helios
God Games was the first song I heard. To finally hear is in all its glory was amazing!!! Everyone did such a wonderful job!
At 7:19 whenever Athena says “please reconsider.” I feel like it would be in a cool little detail if she said “please reconsider this, He needs to get home”- because that’s one of the most important lines that Odysseus said, except it was “please reconsider this I need to get home.” But it’s Athena way of saying it
FOR THOSE WHO WANT ANSWERS/SPOILERS (Though I don't recommend them) AFTER SEEING THIS:
According to The Odyssey, Athena is very much not dead.
I kinda forgot, either way she aint dead, just knocked out)
To add to the above, I don’t think it’s an accident that the song before this (Love in Paradise) explicitly states that “goddesses can’t die”
@@bpyrotroph3670 I mean, Athena is confirmed to show up later, but this is a LOOSE RETELLING. In the original source odyssey sleeps with and has kids with both Circe and Calypso, FOR YEARS, he spent an entire year doing circe.
@@tektyrantcorrection: he did not “sleep with” Calypso. She raped him.
