  • Nobody had a career like Arn Anderson. For more than three decades he has been the epitome of “old school.” Hear him as you’ve never heard him before every Tuesday at 6am Eastern as you gives you a peak behind the curtain for the first time ever. Each week Conrad Thompson will examine Arn’s days in the territories, becoming an Anderson, creating the Four Horsemen in the NWA, becoming a Hall of Famer, and being a producer behind the scenes for years for WWE proving “The Enforcer” has a story unlike anyone else. Known for his trademark Spinebuster and incredible “promos” in front of the camera, it’s his timing and wit that has kept “the boys” in stitches behind the scenes. Hear for yourself why ARN is the new “symbol of excellence” in professional wrestling podcasting exclusively on Westwood One Podcast Network, Tuesdays at 6am Eastern.

    In some respects the classic promo with Ole & Bolt, laid the foundation of the original Four Horsemen.

  • @shawnbrock1545
    @shawnbrock1545 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    They were tag champions at the time, it was a match for the "other" half of the title. The promo from Ole was one of the best he ever did. IMO even better than the one on Dusty when he turned on him in the Omni.

    The "kinship" between Ole and Arn couldn't have been more complicated. During Arn's initial short run in Atlanta with Matt Borne in 1983, meant to start Paul Ellering's managerial career, Arn was allegedly Ole's nephew! (Don't remember that? It only lasted about 3-4 weeks due to Matt Borne's out-of-the-ring demons screwing up the whole angle; the storyline was dropped and Arn disappeared for a couple of years. Arn addresses this in another podcast.)
    When Arn came to Mid-Atlantic/Georgia after the long run in Mid-South/Continental under the name Marty Lunde, the bloodline changed to "we're brothers, no we're cousins...identical cousins (oh wait that was Patty Duke)...we're brothers, Ric Flair's our cousin".

    • @edmondcamp2878
      @edmondcamp2878 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You probably already know this but Arns name really is Marty Lunde and he’s from Rome Georgia.
      I’m from Dallas Georgia.
      I never understood how they could say Arn was from Minnesota when he talked exactly like somebody from Rome Georgia lol.

    People always say The American Dream, copy Mr. Patterson,. Thunderbolt, did nothing he was boring didn't have good matches. Never said much on the micro, but I'm to upset to say it. Really Dusty Rhodes, didn't copy him. Thunderbolt, didn't have a Bonic elbow, he didn't draw for anyone. Dusty, gave stories on his interviews, Thunderbolt, well he was so upset I can't talk. Ole Anderson, help Thunderbolt, more then he knew. He could have easy been a jobber.

      Rufus R. Jones, was at Dusty Rhodes level in no way. All Mr. Jones did was ran his shoulder to his opponent that was it. You said Dirty Rhodes, that was a Dusty Rhodes, want to be. Two different men's if you look at a white guy trying to talk the talk it's normal to say he is trying to act like a black guy you see. But Dusty Rhodes, was much better then Mr. Jones. And Thunderbolt could do nothing he didn't move good in the ring. And only said on the mic I'm so mad I can't talk.

      Shut tf up. Dusty stole his swagger and cleaned it up a bit. He even admitted it and other wrestlers did. Just like y’all probably think Elvis came up with his style. In the words of Blade Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice-skate uphill.

      Yes you are right in the day Patterson, & Stevenson in wwwf tag was top billing. And Patterson, was a good single wrestler also. But he is in the dark because he was gay nothing wrong with that. But he was Mr. McMahon, man you can see how close they always was. Since we all know now it's fake it really don't matter as much. The winners are pick in the lockeroom.
