And who will be giving you a job? In the entire world, the UK is second only to China in 2024 for the highest exodus of multi-millionaires. In 2023-24 it could be as high as 30,000 millionaires. Why do you think that is? Because a Labour government is coming. So who are you going to tax? They are taking their taxable income and job creating investment money elsewhere. So you are losing tax money not making more.

The UK is NOT “…the eighth wealthiest country in the world.”
It might be the eighth largest economy in the world, but in terms of PER CAPITA GDP, whether nominal or PPP, it struggles to get into the top twenty or thirty.
When you factor in the very high GINI coefficient, the reality is that the UK is a poor country with a small proportion of very wealthy residents.
As was pointed out in ‘The Financial Times’…
As for the next administration, their scope for manoeuvre will be massively restricted by the UK’s sovereign debt, which is as close to 100% of GDP as makes no difference.
And of course there’s the ‘Moron Premium’ added to any loan made to the country as a result of Truss and Kwarteng’s assault on the UK’s economy.
Oh, and the ongoing idiocy known as Brixit probably won’t help either.
Seriously, the VERY best of luck!

Where am I on refugees and asylum seekers, you ask? Well for someone on the ceter right side of politics, I have a fairly simple position. If someone takes the risk to leave everything they have and know, and survives a really dangerous travel to seek asylum here, if we open our arms, they will be the best addition we can have to our country. They're clearly resourceful and most likely very thankful. And for the money it may cost: we're rich enough to cope with that.

Homelessness, Food banks, and child poverty, has been rising every year, for 14-years. Food banks, especially, because it was new. Food banks, in the UK? Those images, of refugees in "other countries" filling up bowls. That's happening here? Give it a year, or two, and that will reduce, won't remain a thing. Look at us now, I have become indifferent, not shocked anymore, like it has always been normal, and that feeling shames me if honest. Berwick-upon-Tweed to Lands End, we are neighbors, all of us. This country needs to heal. Constantly bombarded with one thing or another, for over 10-years. Did we all do something bad in a previous life or something? I still know of two life-long friends, who still haven't spoken to each other since the referendum, wasn't just how they voted, but the arguments, and things said, leading up to the vote, that killed that relationship. Side note, that van with Rooddog, written on the side. I kept thinking, was it someone like that who lent Farage that dog. lol

Let's put it this way: they'll beg to go to hospital in a taxi with a broken leg or a gunshot wound because an ambulance costs $thousands. Basic insurance premiums start at about $500 per month per person, (ambulance not included) and that's for the cheap policies which either don't pay out, or you pay up front and then try to claim it back, and if you're lucky you might get a percentage. And then there's the cost of medicines. Prescriptions are charged at full price (0 subsidies) plus a 10 fold markup! But this is the model the Tories wanted for the UK!

The boat problem all goes back to all the wars waged in the name of democracy and liberalism. People might claim "well the wars are kinda over". 1st they aren't. 2nd they have economically, structurally, socially been destroyed by wars. This and civil wars constantly promoted rather then allowing for people to naturally resolve issues will lead to constant immigration.
OK!!! People may say, "why don't they stay in other western European countries?" Well Europe main land has moved hard right and they are further on the right then the UK. Migrants coming on boats will be doing it as a last result. They would have had multiple applications rejected.
Create a problem and never own it. Expect every other person to carry your problems. This is the British way. They will demonize these poor souls. They are just trying to survive.

The way to stop people crossing in boats is to make that crossing not worthwhile. Sunak tried to do that with Rwanda. But that was only ever going to cover a small number of people at great expense. A far cheaper and more socially acceptable way would be to make a deal with France to return 100% of people who cross in boats back to France. Obviously the UK would have to give them something in return. The UK should set up an asylum application centre in France and take an equivalent number of asylum seekers to the number that get returned from the boat crossings. That way France isn’t having more asylum seekers by accepting the returns and there will be huge reduction in the desire to make the boat crossing, so the camps that exist purely to facilitate the boat crossings would disperse. Everybody wins except the people traffickers.

Many of the fears about Labour are based on outdated perceptions, particularly those rooted in the 1970s. The Labour Party has indeed changed significantly since then.
    Here's a more balanced perspective:
Since the 1970s, Labour has undergone major changes, most notably with Tony Blair's "New Labour" in the 1990s, which adopted more centrist economic policies.
Keir Starmer's Labour is quite different from both the 1970s Labour and Jeremy Corbyn's recent leadership, positioning itself as more moderate and business-friendly.
Modern Labour has distanced itself from the high-tax, high-spending policies of the 1970s. Rachel Reeves, the shadow chancellor, has explicitly ruled out increasing the top rate of income tax.
Despite these changes, some media outlets and political opponents continue to draw comparisons to the 1970s Labour, which can influence public perception.
While Labour has changed, there are still policy differences with the Conservatives, such as plans to reform non-dom status and approach to public services.
The economic challenges of the 1970s were complex and not solely attributable to Labour policies, involving global factors like the oil crisis.
So,many fears about Labour based on its 1970s image are largely unsubstantiated when considering the party's current policies and leadership.

This! I've been saying this since as a teenager in the '80s I watched Thatcher hand the country's most valuable assets to rich shareholders.
People shouldn't be making a profit out of basic life necessities - housing, energy, water, transport, public infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
But it'll take a massive effort to recover that which was stolen from our country.

If you think that Starmer's Labour can turn 14 years of rot, theft and neglect around quickly, you live in La-La land. it will take at least 2 terms to get us back to approaching 2010 levels, then we have to rebuild to current world economic and trade levels following that.
