In Australia PSVR2 is $950 & the ps5 is $700 add on games to that it's a steep price to ask.

It is $880 aud which is $585 and is currently on sale for $485

VR Gaming wont take off until Nintendo makes a wireless, portable VR headset. Just imagine playing a Super Mario Bro’s level in 3D, in VR using the cameras to create the level using the environment around you, an evolution to the Switch and Switch 2. You could end up walking around a large park for hours playing Super Mario Bro’s levels much like people did with Pokémon Go.
Just missed it mbg but I’m here now 😁 the real deal breaker for me was no backwards compatibility and yeah price is definitely a factor
The writing was on the wall for the PSVR2 the moment it was announced. This is exactly what Sony did with the first one and it's also what they do with gimmicky PS peripherals in general.
It's not well supported from a games standpoint. The vast majority of these games on the PSVR2 are just ports from VR titles that already existed. A collection of 25 old games will not have the impact one single new release does from a marketing standpoint. Sony never put much effort into developing games for it beyond its launch titles and is relying on third party. That may not be a bad strategy in itself IF they release on PC but of course, Sony has a zealous grip on their platform and that was never even considered I'm sure.
Just really a braindead decision to bring this thing to market. To top if off you're probably just pissing off customers

I would be surprised if Palworld does as well on PS as it did elsewhere. The game likely won't be in PS+, there is no shortage of games on PS, and Palworlds viral moment has passed.
I think VR is cool but it’s too expensive. I’m not spending $550 just to play a few games. Plus you can’t even play PSVR1 games.
Nail on the head. I have played GT7 at least 2-4 times every week for the past few YEARS, and I am DYING to play that beauty in awesome VR, but I'm not gonna pay $500+ for it. I don't mind waiting for it to go down in price a bit, and then I'll play thru Resident Evil 8 + RE4 remake in VR too. Not enough games to buy it now... If Sony had just 2-3 more BIG games made for VR, I'd 100% change my mind, but they didnt put that effort into PS VR 2. +Where is Half Life Alyx, etc??? It failed cuz of Sony, it's too expensive to ask people to pay so much for so little. Yes, there are a few smaller / cool VR games too, but people buy in for the BIG guns. You'd think Sony would know better, but this is the same company that refuses to bring back their best online shooter, SOCOM. Gotta spend $ to make $... Oh well....

Astro Bot not coming to VR2 kinda doesnt surprise me. They want to make Astro a bigger mascot on Playstation and you cant restrict that just to the VR2 because no one would be able to play it for all that money and time invested. The game just isnt made for VR in mind from the beginning..
Sony just isnt supporting the headset enough. Poor advertising. Sony needed to get some more big flagship titles to get more mass appeal. Halflife Alyx or even Last of Us VR would have been massive.
Still plenty of good games to enjoy and theres still 3-4 titles im looking forward to coming out this year. Thats more than im interested in for the ps5..
Look I don't mind a hard game but it really wouldn't hurt to have options! Some of us are not psychos and want to play one game for 400 hours!! We have other priorities in life
Let's just be honest VR is still a very small Market even on PC VR players don't buy as many VR sets as people would like to think last time I checked *PlayStation sold over 250,000* of these sets could have grown since 2022, but that's pretty much not really enough to keep the PlayStation VR 2 going. PlayStation VR 2 would have to sell a total of *over 2 million* in order for Sony to keep the money flowing, but if the rumors are true let's just be honest even Sonys board of directors in Japan probably thought *VR was too much of a gamble* to put a lot of money in and if that is the case and we see less VR sets being sold in the future then that's basically it. *Microsoft was right VR is too much of a gamble to invest in.*
Maybe in 40 years? Or at least 30 I know a ton of the younger generation is all about it at least my smaller cousins they are 11 to 16 ish at the very least they are more of focused on pc than consoles
The last number reported was 600k but most PC players just buy them for porn and virtual girlfriends lol.
Psvr2 is an amazing device but I’m really disappointed how Sony doesn’t support it with more AAA games. The new Astro Bot game should have been a hybrid game and most of the Psvr1 games like RE7, Skyrim, Hitman, Borderlands 2 or Rush of Blood are still not available for the second headset.

I just got a psvr 2 when it was on sale during sony days of play. So far, I am having fun with it. Pavlov is really fun.
I recently bought PSVR2 directly from Sony during the Days of Play. It was 100€ off and I got a year of Netflix Premium, too. I bought the Horizon call of the mountain bundle and counting the Netflix deal I payed around 310€. I took this deal although I kind of knew PSVR2 is kinda dying. With PSVR1 I had such a blast that the curently available and announced VR games for PSVR2 are enough for me to invest 300 bucks again into VR. :) Well, we'll see how the VR Support will be going forward. xD :) But I truly love my PSVR2. :D :)
I would try pal world my bf got it on his pc when it came out. It looks good and I like that it has survival aspects and you can build a base. I love pokemon and I love ark so it sounds like a win for me

I like PSVR2 it’s such an incredible piece of technology and it was expensive I hope they still bring out some games for it not completely give up on it
