Beatboxing was born in 1980’s NYC as one of the five elements of hip-hop with the guidance of legends like Doug E Fresh, Kid Lucky, and Rahzel. After decades of evolution underground and overseas, innovation continues to push the art form.
American Beatbox is a platform for the beatboxing community to carry the torch into the future, dedicated to helping beatboxers reach their potential and connect with audiences worldwide via content, livestreams, merchandise, battles and events.
The American Beatbox Championships is the premiere beatbox competition in the USA. Every November, over Veteran’s Day Weekend, the most talented beatboxers from around the country come to NYC to compete for the titles, bragging rights, and a spot to represent their country at the World Champs. 2019 marks the ten year anniversary of the ABCs, and the first official year of American Beatbox launching as a platform.

Trung, Gene and I had all voted for Bloomer on this one. If you're going to call Bloomer repetitive, you have to hold Inertia to that same standard. They were both repetitive by this battle. My vote was basically based on who took the moment better and who performed better, which if you were there live, you know was clearly Bloomer. Inertia was still nasty this whole competition and deserves massive props for his come up. Congratulations to Bloomer!
I wish inertia would've done his routine that he did against napom at the east coast champs 8 to smoke.

Don't get why a lot of people are saying that Bloomer doesn't deserve the win because his sounds are repetitive. A lot of beatboxers (and music in general) utilize repetition. He did better than Inertia in this battle cause he was really clean and had nice routines. I could say the same for Inertia, but you could tell that he messed up here and there. People also say that he had better routines and he just didn't use them. He should've. But he didn't. People should try to watch again without any biases. Props to both of them. Congrats to Bloomer. Destroy next year, Inertia. Love listening to both of you. Absolute beasts🔥
TL;DR: Bloomer was clean, Inertia had a few mistakes, both of them were sexy as hell but Bloomer deserved this one guys.

Unpopular opinion here:
Bloomer deserved this one.
I can't even say that Inertia diversified his sounds more, as they both utilize much of the same sounds. Just in different ways and styles.
More so, although they were both giving it their all, I could tell Bloomer had the slightest edge over Inertia. His first round especially was some of the most hype I felt this entire Championship.
But in the end, I'm proud of the U.S. community and how high our level has become. We can only go up from here, boys.

For those of you who think Bloomer is overrated or what ever, I guarantee your the same people who haven’t experienced hearing him live, he executed everything perfectly throughout the night and he is such a beast on stage, I’ve said it before but he creates an atmosphere that everyone just bobs their head to, I’m not taking anything away from Inertia he still did insanely well the whole night but in this battle I understand why he lost

I am an OG b-boy and a real world, top of the game audio and live sound engineer and avid fan of this competition sport and art... PLEASE?Don't use those microphones again. The sound was clean but the frequency response was NOT THERE and the diaphragms are too tight, it may help to have that curve to handle feedback and they may be good for vocals. However the deeper bass from breath technics and the inbreath tops and pops were completely lost in this whole run. I have heard these guys plenty of times now to know what they sound like. Those subliminal breaks depend on the enunciation and articulation broader then the frequency responce range of many microphones. Even good ones. Just sayin... I love this shiz. Hit me up if you want me to research what may be the proper mic for this sport I would be glad too. Also let me know if y'all plan to come to Seattle, I can help you in all ways. Merc Mercy

Ruben Van Severen I wanted inertia to win. But bloomer was pretty clean and I know he’s been at it a long time. The routines seem old by now, but they are still pretty technical. Inertia will be back to win it another time.

A totally deserved win for Bloomer. I believe Inertia made a bet on the first round for diversity (he went technical instead of relying on his dominant strategy, which is his groovy and heavy bass). Inertia knows well his style is repetitive, and so is Bloomer's, so perhaps Inertia thought he could stand out by being different on at least one round. Sadly, Inertia's technically is still not on point in my humble opinion-at least not enough to give him a win on an ABC final. Bloomer just went for what he does better and excelled. Even if he is repetitive, cleanness and groove in performance are secured because he's polished that style for years now.
Perhaps Inertia would've gotten a bigger winning chance if he had gone for his repetitive -yet more competitive- dominant bass style in both rounds.
Or we could stop arguing and learn from 2 American legends 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
