I did 3 campaign with her so far, all 3 times i made my first "teleport" to Niedling, teleported there, destroyed fort oberstyre, then i waited there till vlad went to castle templehof, there i used my great cannon to mostly break walls and kill/damage cav or single entities, and used my rockets to obliterate enemy infantry units. I set up my gunners to the holes in front of the wall to help kill anything that gets close to that point, essentially creating a kill zone. By this "strategy" you can legit destroy vlad in a couple turns without suffering any damages. If he got a 2nd or even 3rd army, just wait til they get to a castle drakenhof and attack them there and repeat the process. I managed to kill off vlad in a couple turns without suffering damages at all. Also, upgrade your cannon and battery once to make this even easier in the school + bring an engineer lord behind you so they reinforce your army for even more ammo refill, you'll need it. You get to vlad so early your engineer hero mostlikely won't have high enough lvl for refill skill yet.
Elspeth reminds me of Henry Ford's quote "You can have any color you want, as long as it's black" "You can have any troops you want, as long as its guns."
She's my favorite empire playthrough. Having so much fun mowing down my foes with her. And I love the teleport mechanic so I can get her to the corners of my empire quickly.
Her Amethyst Outriders are absolutely insane, they are so good at shooting over city walls I almost feel bad. I ended up putting Elspeth with a demigryph stack just cuz Bruckner boosts them a fair bit and they dont accidentally shoot her and most of her bonuses for gunpowder are from her faction rather than her. She just has a skill to reduce her upkeep for them by 10% which is pretty good, but I had a lot more fun putting amethyst units with a Hochland scopes lord.
Did pretty much the same. Started with Elspeth, just confederated Karl Franz when a friend mentioned how awesome Malakai campaign is after you get grape shot for the cannons. Been playing him ever since and just about to face the vermintide.
Always have a soft spot for these campaign review videos. I'm hoping that eventually the older ones that changed are coming too (like Gelt with his new start position, and Ku'gath after the ToD buffs that Nurgle got). Would also love another faction strength tier list video like the one from 8 or 9 months ago. Can never get enough Legend in my feed
Did it when tomb kings endgame scenario began. Every turn I recruit a 20 stack to fight off their 20 stack. Was a lot of fun just watching battles and not worrying about a unit get wiped
Moved her starting settlement to a island fortress and used towers to police the empire from across the map, where Elspeth is farming Skaven to hasten her research.
I know its not DLC, but I really enjoyed Gelts rework. Maybe over powered, but a lot of fun. CA did a really good job here. I hope they learn from this in the future.
In my current elspeth campaign, I was surprised how easily sylvania crumbled. Usually as Karl I have to play super aggressive and take out half of bretonnia for economy reasons and fortify gordund to extreme levels just to hold vlad at bay while I finish off the beastmen and French vampire faction. The war with vlad is usually a 30 turn slog where I fight with dual army stacks from town to town and bait army battles to push further into sylvania. Usually vlads faction is dead by turn 40-50 but as elspeth I crushed him in a single 10 turn slaughter where I only fought vlad twice.its turn 25 and I own the entire southern half of the empire and have absorbed drycha. If I confederate with Karl I’d have 2 thirds of the empire rn lol
Actually had quite hard campaign with Nuln. All my potential allies were getting stomped to the ground. Had wars all over the place. Was fun, not easy though.
I think he's speaking relatively because at least you have allies surrounding you to fight threats, unlike markus wulfhart, all of kislev, malakai, grimgor etc
Yeah I've had several campaing with her already and it varies slightly, one time I was able to curbstomp vlad by turn ~15, the other I had a hard time with everyone around and managed to conquer Sylvania at liek turn 40
Same issue as you on my first few attempts at her campaign. All of the dwarfs (except Belegar) and Kislev just decided to die by turn 20 so I had to deal with Vlad, Azhag, Wurrzag, Skrag, and Throt all on my own while Karl was keeping Kemmler, Norsca, Grom, and Festus at bay. It wouldn't have been so bad if Vlad would have just stopped being a friggen coward only attacking minor settlements and extended my war with him into like turn 25.
@@mat05usz when I played I had 40+ settlements by turn 25. Azhag, vlad, festus, drycha gone. I didn't even feel like i was trying that hard for it, everything just felt so strong and safe
Legend, there is a unique technology in the Tech tree which reveals all Empire faction capitals. That includes all Empire factions outside the Empire. So you need just to research it; you can pretty much rush it and in like 15 turns in Lustria, Africa or Cathay. No need for alliance or anything
The thing i like the most is the change in the imperial authority, just the fact that Elspeth and Balthazar don't have it anymore or in another form is a win for me. Also, the changes makes it less punitive so me like :D.
When I played, I was sure you could only have 5 towers, so I was very careful about where I set them. Mainly because at the start, it only shows 5 slots. I'm embarrassed to admit it was very far into the campaign when I realized you could just keep building them and it would make more slots.
There is a tech in the empire tree which will reveal all empire factions, save sending hero/making alliances to make contact with gelt/markus and volkmar
I loved this campaign. And the thing that the dwarf was even funnier says alot how good this DLC was :-), i really hope they nail next one also... One can be "luck" two in a row...
My one mistake with her was allowing the greenskin crisis to happen and then I had to walk all the way over to Cathay to deal with grimgor (gelt had like two settlements beneath tier 3 so I had to walk any armies other than hers from the empire)
she has a research that gives vision to all empires factions capitals that are still alive, you dont need to make any aliances or send agents to find the other factions
I enjoyed a lot and still do (although Ashlands for Valheim is my main focus these days). In this campaign I chose to not go for Vlad in early game and build an alliance with Durthu to smash H.Kemmler instead (and get Marienburg/Artois/Boackstone in the process) who was giving a hard time to Reikland. After that I cleansed the black pit Orks in the north and helped K.Franz to regain strengh (which he did, only Festus remain with his capital but probably not for long). And in early game I got the opportunity to momentarily get a def alliance with Vlad making him focus on Azagh while I busy stopping kemmler in exchange of Talabheim. It worked well, although Vlad did not remain my ally for long, he cancelled it in less than 10turns… got a NAP after that with him for several turns then finally when I was ready I crushed him soon as he cancelled the NAP, DoW’ed him fullyready by turn33-35 and crushed him all in 2turns lol. That was easy most in AR vs Vlad :p After that I had one of my pistolier stacks caught by Azagh near Bechafen who regained strengh after Vlad collapsed. And I am still there now since I stopped playing to focus on Valheim. Planning to most likely falling back up until Talabeckland just to give me time to send Elspeth deal with him after she defeated Belakor (which happens next turn, should be easy). So yeah it’s a fun campaign, not that hard, even when you don’t follow the natural steps of expansion (it’s in L/VH, plus also crises active but am far from there yet). I just wanted to do things differently and not follow the natural steps to get Vlad in sight by turn 8-10 roughly. Which drove me to an interesting campaign, I enjoyed much so far 👍 Although to be fair, overall, Still have an overall impression the balance is not on top. New factions are just too strong I think. Specially obvious for Malakai and dwarfs, but also for Elspeth. Devs should probably do something about it at some point cuz, in campaign, soon as u built everything, the snowball effect makes things too easy imo. But it still fun and it’s no doubt a great dlc, and Elspeth a good campaign. :)
so you only played the game for an hour or 2 with elspeth, and all of this is happen.. And why do you need to tell us 2 times that you play valheim? it really dosnt matter.. And you played the game for 1 or 2 hours and only got to 30-35 and then you think the dev should do something? dude, play the game alittle more or bump the level up to medium or even better, dont cheese...

Nice episode Legend. I really like these campaign reviews, they are pretty helpful. Also, on another note: could someone tell me how to join Legends discord server? Is it just for patrons?
I enjoyed her campaign, but it did get ridiculously easy later on. Those Amethyst Hellstroms creating vortexes combined with handgunners that have exploding shots behind steam tanks and heroes to hold the line was unstoppable. Almost nothing could get close and if something did manage to get close it didn't live long.
This campaign would be perfect for me if not for the shitty tree acne lumpy ass maps in the empire. Not to mention the massively asymmetrical maps where the defender starts at a gigantic elevation advantage, and the entire map is like a single slope
@@Duke_of_Lorraine Yea, but as long as the map literally has no other high ground except for what the defender starts on and any other slightly decent position is infested with trees
Espeth's campaign was fun. BUT, ironically, I preferred Gelt's new campaign! I'm curious if you're going to a video on him since he's changed quite a bit from pre-5.0.
Love big shooty goth GF Easy-mode empire campaign Guns and artillery, and simple to understand mechanics Start surrounded by many allies so other than Carstein who will probably gradually push towards you nothing really outright tries to kill you. But guns are amazing at melting undead anyway She herself is very strong and if your guns aren't holding the line, her special thing is very cheap vortex spells which are great at supporting your gun's killzones
Not sure if that was asked already in one of them live streams, but: do you plan to also re-review some of the more significantly changed LLs? Say, Gelt's campaign is almost a new experience in its own right
in my Campaign with Elspeth, Vlad went nuts. The moment i turned to him around turn 20, he had 3 armies and 15 cities. I was baffled, he had no strong stacks but was still annoying.
I enjoyed this campaign but was a bit bummed by some of the schematics limitations. Specifically, elector count state troops that use gunpowder and heroes or lords that use gunpowder currently do not grant schematics for kills. So I spent a good bit of the campaign building up an engineer doomstack, and it performs brilliantly, but no schematics. Same for my bordermen/noble sons abroad doomstack. This basically makes certain types of stacks unusable in this campaign because fighting battles with them will make you completely miss out on the special resource you need to access your faction mechanic.
I sent a runner to Gelt in my campaign and by the time he got there Gelt hated me for confederating, and had 2 settlements with Eshin and Lokhir eating him from both sides.
Franz is actually quite competent this patch, the ai seems to just crush and consolidate the entire north of the empire and festus doesnt seem to be a problem.
my first campaign with Elspeth ended because Skragg after killing the border princes at turn 15 came in with 2 stack of ogre bulls and steam rolled me.
Hey legend, is there any chance for one man doomstacks that use a lord that has already been covered? Im mainly saying this while considering how the nemisis crown makes it so that a lot of the melee lords that usually take an eternity to kill infantry can do so in a reasonable amount of time. I also want to know if it would be allowed to submit a 1 man doomstack that uses extra units to power up the lord that would immediately flee from the battle.
I've run this campaign only twice so far, so maybe it was just me, but did anyone else's early game involve (especially) Wurrzag and (a bit later) Skarsnik hitting with multiple double-stack WAAGH armies? Even them strolling right through Vampire Counts territory to do so? For me, getting rid of Vlad was merely annoying (especially as he apparently has literally no downtime when defeated - he's back up next turn with at least half a stack), but the Greenskins was what I genuinely had to worry about. Was that just my experience?
Hmmm. Didn't realize you get different enemies on different campaign difficulties. On hard there is a minor greenskin faction in Steingard and the fort.
hey! what the hey.. how did he get so many regiments of renown units in the same army? hes got 6 stacks of amy ironsides ... someone explain.. im about to start a new camp with her and would love those rocket dudes lol
It’d be nice if AI Karl could summon the elector counts, giving the player a dilemma to answer the call or incur massive diplomatic penalties with Karl.
It kinda sucks that only Malakai gets thegrapeshot for cannons. Without that feature they are still a subpar unit that you have better options not to have it in your stack.
I played Elspeth's campaign. Not once did I see the option in the diplomacy menu to confederate any other Empire faction. Is this a bug? As I was playing I thought that Elspeth could not confederate other factions by design.
Not personally a fan of her campaign, not so much because of its mechanics, but moreso that i just dont really enjoy the empires unit roster. It was my first time trying out the empire and, if im being honest, i thought id enjoy it more. Everything just felt so basic to me, and the way the factions armies play just doesnt really click for me. I did very much enjoy the other two new factions though (was working on building a thunderbarge doomstack of my own, and rot knights may be some of my favourite units in the game now)
I feel like elspeth has the easiest no defeat campaign, elector count, amethyst and regiment of renown units, the fast travel mechanic and just in general the most powerful units in the game
The only problem with Elspeth is that her campain is much better than any other empire faction that you don't have any reason to play the other 4 legendary lord. Same for ikit claw. CA should work on that.
Dude turn 7 I have 3 settlements first vamp army dead Stirling is already dead I have a full stack of savage works at my door every tim. What am I doing wrong. This is the hardest campaign for me
How do you confederate people? I got non-aggression pacts, trade agreements, and military access with the other Empire factions while I played Elspeth and never allied with them, but when I opened diplomacy with them, there was never a button to confederate them.
I like her Realms of Chaos campaign. Even though people don't usually like RoC in Total War WH3, I enjoyed being the "Protector of the Empire" and self-imposed guarding the lore friendly borders of each Empire faction. Also, Big Guns Never Tire \,,/

Out of the new campaigns, she was by far the one I had the most fun with. Those amethyst hellstorms were a blast to use in battle.
The giant black sun is essentially a nuke.
Spamming the recruitment gardens and churning out 20 stacks of decent armies a turn is hilarious
Did it when tomb kings endgame scenario began. Every turn I recruit a 20 stack to fight off their 20 stack. Was a lot of fun just watching battles and not worrying about a unit get wiped
Felix: “I can take her.”
Ulrika: “In a fight right?”
Gotrek: *ah shit, here we go again -_-*
Moved her starting settlement to a island fortress and used towers to police the empire from across the map, where Elspeth is farming Skaven to hasten her research.
I know its not DLC, but I really enjoyed Gelts rework. Maybe over powered, but a lot of fun. CA did a really good job here. I hope they learn from this in the future.
Agreed, Elspeth and Malakai are the big two DLCs and the only reason to make me even consider buying the game.
Having all the units necessary for a good low-medium tier army in 1 decently easy to make building is insane
YES, SPACE MARINES!!
THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!!
Playing as Evil Lyn was a blast
The Dragon and its Lazor is entertaining yes Yees.
Would be super interested in an updated campaign review for gelt.
That was easy most in AR vs Vlad :p
After that I had one of my pistolier stacks caught by Azagh near Bechafen who regained strengh after Vlad collapsed.
Which drove me to an interesting campaign, I enjoyed much so far 👍
Although to be fair, overall,
Still have an overall impression the balance is not on top.
@@donkarnage6986 wut ? lol wanna troll dude ? It’s not cuz I don’t write it than there is nothing else that happened, first.
2nd, Valheim & legend’s community has quite a lot in common. Did u know he has a 2nd channel for Valheim at least ?
Mentioning Valheim here just explains why I don’t play my Elspeth campaign these days, it’s self-explanatory, and I didn’t want to insist on that game specifically. Just it happened in my train of thoughts it led to that conclusion twice, okay ? You can handle it ? Jeez. No one forces u to read u know. But read everything and say u don’t fuckin care after, well, it’s a bit late dude… 😏
Btw, read all the details next time dh, do you know what L/VH means at least ? And I play L/VH only since at least Empire TW. I guess am gonna stop there for the enlightenment cuz, just the sheer agression for absolutely no reason and without even know yourself what u talk about or understand what I said is again self-explanatory… 🤯
Thanks for the video
The Amethyst Outriders are just ludicrously strong, they can practically delete a whole block of infantry in a single volley.
I yearn for the solitude of my gardens.
The amethyst outriders are even more powerful imo. They stalk when upgraded and basically every volley will decimate an infantry unit.
Hey Legend , how did u get so many Amethyst units in one army ? I thought there is cap of 3…
This campaign would be perfect for me if not for the shitty tree acne lumpy ass maps in the empire. Not to mention the massively asymmetrical maps where the defender starts at a gigantic elevation advantage, and the entire map is like a single slope
It makes sense that the defender would try starting with the high ground.
@@Duke_of_Lorraine Yea, but as long as the map literally has no other high ground except for what the defender starts on and any other slightly decent position is infested with trees
dude come on, you just watch zerkovic... With elspeth, this isnt a problem...
@@phailupe2941 Well isn't that the point of an strategy game? To strategies around things like the terrain and so on?
Espeth's campaign was fun. BUT, ironically, I preferred Gelt's new campaign! I'm curious if you're going to a video on him since he's changed quite a bit from pre-5.0.
Love big shooty goth GF
Easy-mode empire campaign
Guns and artillery, and simple to understand mechanics
Start surrounded by many allies so other than Carstein who will probably gradually push towards you nothing really outright tries to kill you. But guns are amazing at melting undead anyway
She herself is very strong and if your guns aren't holding the line, her special thing is very cheap vortex spells which are great at supporting your gun's killzones
Not sure if that was asked already in one of them live streams, but: do you plan to also re-review some of the more significantly changed LLs? Say, Gelt's campaign is almost a new experience in its own right
Yes please!
in my Campaign with Elspeth, Vlad went nuts.
Will you do also Karl Franz and Gelt campaign review?
I love the carmine dragon breath attack that I love to cheese, super op
I sent a runner to Gelt in my campaign and by the time he got there Gelt hated me for confederating, and had 2 settlements with Eshin and Lokhir eating him from both sides.
Im addicted to Elspeth's campaign. Her amethyst troops are too strong. Paired it with multiple hochland scope engineers
Theres a technology for the gardens that lets you see all empire territory
When will we get the updated unit roster tierlists for empire & nurgle?
She is the easiest campaign all the empire loves her and throws Confederate at her
Franz is actually quite competent this patch, the ai seems to just crush and consolidate the entire north of the empire and festus doesnt seem to be a problem.
my first campaign with Elspeth ended because Skragg after killing the border princes at turn 15 came in with 2 stack of ogre bulls and steam rolled me.
Same here with Wurzag at least! I’m only on turn 30 and he’s my biggest pain
Hmmm. Didn't realize you get different enemies on different campaign difficulties. On hard there is a minor greenskin faction in Steingard and the fort.
would....jokes aside...elspeth is the goat for me
I lo e the building that lets you recruit cav gunners halbadiers its basically all you need to conqueor vlad and then some
hey! what the hey.. how did he get so many regiments of renown units in the same army? hes got 6 stacks of amy ironsides ... someone explain.. im about to start a new camp with her and would love those rocket dudes lol
ive got 400+ or even 500+ reserve on gelt's stack, and that's only 8-12 wizards (don't need more)
It’d be nice if AI Karl could summon the elector counts, giving the player a dilemma to answer the call or incur massive diplomatic penalties with Karl.
It kinda sucks that only Malakai gets thegrapeshot for cannons. Without that feature they are still a subpar unit that you have better options not to have it in your stack.
Please do an updated Empire unit tier list.
I played Elspeth's campaign. Not once did I see the option in the diplomacy menu to confederate any other Empire faction. Is this a bug? As I was playing I thought that Elspeth could not confederate other factions by design.
I honeslty prefered Gelts campaing over elspeth, gelt is easily my faforite empire campaing now.
I did very much enjoy the other two new factions though (was working on building a thunderbarge doomstack of my own, and rot knights may be some of my favourite units in the game now)
I feel like elspeth has the easiest no defeat campaign, elector count, amethyst and regiment of renown units, the fast travel mechanic and just in general the most powerful units in the game
then try play warrior of chaos or grimgor, thats easy
Will you make any M2TW videos anytime soon?
When legend talks, everyone should shut the fuck up and listen to his wise words
The ark ability of amethyst grenade riders is stupid good when in a walled settlement battle
And with the replenishment with two together is even more amazing
On the far right next to war declaration button
@@ZZuluZ Thanks.
I like her Realms of Chaos campaign. Even though people don't usually like RoC in Total War WH3, I enjoyed being the "Protector of the Empire" and self-imposed guarding the lore friendly borders of each Empire faction. Also, Big Guns Never Tire \,,/
My disappointment at her not having a final battle against tamurkhan is immeasurable.
Easiest campaign I've played
I know he was not a part of the core DLC but will you be doing a review of the updated Franz campaign? I'm finding it hard to get my stride in how it should be played to make the most of the state troops mechanic.
hello been watching your videos since warhammer 2 i recently found out the they pushed a silent update that broke my game and now i lost most of my dlcs and old dlc from warhammer 1 and 2 i owned my warhammer 1 and 2 and most of the dlcs from them on my primary account and when warhammer 3 came out i had problem with my main account cause it was hacked into and i had to wait but this was around the launch of warhammer 3 so made a new account on steam and bought it there friends told it fine as long as you family share with you main account you'll get all the dlc from the old games and it worked everything was fine until 4 days ago where i could not access my main account dlcs and cant even install the free dlcs from the old games i tried to play the game normally on my second account with the forge of the chaos dwarfs but kept crashing no fix for it i tried everything i talked to the people in discord nothing i went to sega website and made a ticket at first they didn't believe me then i had to share screenshots of my dlcs and ingame and my steam purchases history and everything then after that they told to buy all of the dlcs and all of the games into one account this never happend before and told me it steam problem then i opened a steam support ticket told them the hole story steam said it the game publisher that did this recently and now i lost all of the dlcs i bought from warhammer 1 and 2 im looking for someone who maybe had this problem and know a fix other then paying over a hundred dollers to fix this i feel tired of all this im sorry if this long or it looks that came out of nowhere it just feel frustrated
thank you for reading.
I had to deal with ogres at the beginning. Than vampires, chaos and norsca. Campaign didn't feel that easy.
That girl is riding darkeater midir. Damn...
I liked her campaign, but I ignored Vlad too long at the beginning and it was a pain to get rid of him, at that stage.
three words. Steath Mortar wagons.
Goth mummy saves.
I cannot get to the level 4 in both amoury's
