@@nightjaronthegate it's too soon to see if power ballads will be a trend (i only saw taeyeon with four season and voice) and since kpop girl groups are in the western appeal era... yeah BUT gfriend did an innocent revival and a lot of groups started to do it after me gustas tu and rough, some even tried to emulate it... very close, it's easy to find
S. S. Innocent-impactful is mostly their main concept with the blend of harmonious combination of instrumentals... its their own kind of sound so tell me its this a revival? Its more like of their own kind and their own trademark🙃

The shock was definitely not because of the high note. Most likely it is because of the very unusual note
agree. a lot of people say their songs sound alike in a negative way. but for me, it gives me a sense of relief that gfriend has their own music brand. having their own unique brand doesn't mean their songs sound the same. they're only giving off the same vibe of which people would automatically think it's gfriend's song when they first hear it.
Exactly. I don't think how this is considered bad for some people, it's actually great in an over-saturated market like kpop.

Ikr. It's one of my favourite thing about Gfriend, yeah ofcourse having a different sound is nice and all but having their own sound is wayy better. It's easier for me, since I love the kind of songs gfriend releases

The funny thing about Sunrise is that it wasn't the original title track for this comeback. They said that this was actually supposed to be a b-side!

I also like groups who has their own color in their music especially im girl groups because they tend to venture on different concepts too much that sometimes they lose their MAIN concept. I like that it's similar and you already know the taste of their songs but every comeback you'll keep wondering what are they going to do next even tho u already know how they sound like AND THEY GIVE IT JUSTICE EVERY SINGLE TIME. That's why i like gfriend, red velvet and dreamcatcher the most these days.

Also the coreo TFMN was planets and night themed and Sunrise its about the begining of a day with energetic and more dynamic moves

He’s a music major who specializes the piano. So I’m guessing long time training on the specific instrument and practice would make picking up what chord is being played much easier. But even so, it’s amazing that He recognizes the chords and whatever classical piece they’re sampling from almost instantly and uses that to piece together the song on the piano. He did this with a DreamCatcher song too

People who said Gfriend song sound the same since their debut until now should watch this video reaction or be a classical student to understand what a real instrumental music sound like coz most Gfriend song contain that instruments
the sheet music is not GFriend's Sunrise but the String Quartets, Op. 76 (Haydn) the N.4 "Sunrise" instead
(a clue for the mv storyline?, an inspiration for the song?, I haven't figured out for sure but it's nice how GFriend keeps their classic music references in more than one of their songs, like how they included a Robert Schumann, Dichterliebe Op. 48 Pt 1 sample in Summer Rain)

GFriend members know how to play piano, Yuju knows but never posted a full song online (she played guitar instead) like Umji, she played piano on their debut year and posted clips on twitter and Instagram and now Eunha, played on a performance and in this MV (both Eunha and Umji were seen playing at the piano on this mv but with a bigger focus on Eunha as she was seen playing the actual song closely on screen.)

This is the best reaction vid I have seen so far for Sunrise. I love how you guys discuss not only vocals but also how the key changes and instruments used. I mean, a song is made of all those elements, isn't it? A lot of reactions missed the instrument parts of GFriend songs while I think it's the most iconic thing to GFriend. Also, I like how you pointed out the interesting difference between Time for the moon night and Sunrise. And, as you have mentioned, GFriend got their iconic sounds and ppl who like those sounds will never be disappointed with their newly released song since we already expect what is gonna happen.
