Woo-hoo we have a witness! :) This is why when people say we eat a lot of oil, a lot of starch etc I think yes, but look how we turned out. I always say that food is not a bad thing especially when it is prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients. What is bad is too much food and processed food that we don't know their contents. Thank you! :)
Now that's a good question cos there are many types of palms! It is call Oil Palm, the same palm tree we get palm wine from. To read more about it search for "oil palm" in wikipedia :)
Ewo! LOL @ delicious aki na ukwa marriage ... atakata agba awaa :DDD Nne there are lots of favourite parts in this process! I love eating the palm fruits when they are done and I love aki and bread! :DDD
Yum. Apart from ofe akwu, my other fav part of this process breaking apart the nut later, roasting it and mixing it with roasted ukwa...LOL...Aki na ukwa is one delicious marriage. Daalu.
It is quite different from palm oil. Palm oil is extracted at very high temperatures and if done correctly, does not contain water at all but obviously, this one is a mixture of oil and water. In some soups, this extract serves as thickener for the soup eg Banga Soup. Palm oil does not have that ability unless you add potash to it.
I must say, I was pleasantly surprise when I was in Nigeria I only saw one overweight person in my travel in and around Lagos, so obviously being over weight has nothing to do with freshly prepared food, it's process food that that the west produces that causes those problems!!
mmmh, not sure what is happening there. You were able to comment on this one, does it mean you can view it? And can you view YT videos embedded on other websites eg on facebook, forums etc?
Ahh nothing from the oil palm tree goes to waste! You crack the nut open with a blunt object eg a hammer and eat the kernel. It tastes like coconut and is great with bread, boiled/roasted corn etc lol There's also another type of oil known as palm kernel oil that can be extracted from the kernel at very high temperatures. :)
Gotcha! :DDD I set a trap with this video and so far, my trap has gotten a few people. Watch the video again sis, this time more attentively and you'll see the trap :))))
