After using Magpul products for over 10 years now, I can say without a doubt, they ARE the king of firearm accessories! Can’t wait for this case and organizer!
I hear ya on that. Inserts are out but no sign of the case and the add on grid pieces say “coming soon” on their site. Edit: My mistake. Cases are on the site but also say “coming soon”.
@@MossyOakFreak And? I didn’t say anything about release, just agreed with Captain about their sometimes lengthy wait on new products being released(which is a fact) and that the site said what it said. Take it easy, chief.
Latches look interesting. Wonder how hard to break them and how waterproof it is. Doesn’t look as sturdy as pelican but hard to say. Price is definitely in the pelican range from my first impression
I've never looked at a Pelican case and thought "this could be better designed". I do love my Daka soft cases and even the wallets. I'll probably pick one of these up
It's the organizers that is the real product. I'll probably get them for all of my Pelican cases. I may actually go to Shot Show this year just to see these in person.
You only have to work a whole straight month to purchase the pelican case and the DAkA organization system. I have plenty of bubble wrap and padding I can find on my own thank you very much
Brags about "corner storage", leaves a huge gap letting water and debris inside the corner, no gasket seal at all for said corner. Also at $350, can get a proven Pelican for over $100 cheaper. Not a good look so far. This case needs to drop in price and redesigned.
@@ScuffedEngineer currently that's all they have. I forgot which models, but 2 of the pelican models are currently available and the extra peg inserts are labeled as coming soon. I know there's more pelican models they're working on, as well as one of the Plano models
Looks like a great outer case. It would be great if you could make the holes and movable squares about a quarter of their current size so the little squares would take up less space, while still providing cushion, but also allow you to be more precise about where they plug into the hole and how you layout the case inside.
I get what you're saying but they gotta market it in a way that doesnt make the customer feel like they have 50 of these little blocks they have to keep track of or store when not in use, but they've mentioned there are more accessory blocks in the make currently to further customize the layouts they may make smaller blocks in the future forsure!
Are the hinge pins captive and secure? TSA and airport personnel like to access these cases via the hinge pins in the back. They simply extract them and open the case from the opposite side. Having a lock on the latch side is merely a false sense of security. Stay classy my friends.
So Magpul usually knocks everything out of the park, but I'm going to echo another commenter in pointing out that the "corner storage" is NOT part of the o-ring seal, and anything you put in there is going to be covered in whatever gets inside that gap. Hate to say it, but I think at the asking price and design shortcomings, a Pelican case with Daka inserts would be the way to go.
@@d3ltaohniner261 It is 100% the point. You’re not putting Bibles, Books, guns, ammo, money, or your Grandmas heirloom jewelry in the crush section of the case. It’s like complaining the hood of your car doesn’t have cupholders and a waterproof storage container.
@Aaron Bell thank you for getting it. Of course it's functionally a sacrificial crumple zone, but they made the point of calling out using it for storage as a bullet point of marketing. It's going to be useless for storage purposes, because it's going to allow ingress of dust, moisture, etc. Ammunition, ear plugs, tools, spare parts, etc are things you want to keep clean and secure, as such they are effectively useless for stated purpose.
What’s the overall length of an assembled Barrett 82A1 /M107 with 29” barrel ? That front spring for disassembly is such a pain in the ass it would be nice to keep it assembled
I’m very interested in this case and the new insets for a custom fit. I love the Daka can but it’s also what makes me concerned about this case. I’ve had 4 daka cans that have failed at the hinge because I dropped them a few feet. I only use them for my glasses, so weight was not a factor. What have you guys done to prevent this from happening with the rifle case?
@@ScuffedEngineer my v700 case is ready. I’ve looked at custom high-density foam for my case and it’s absurdly expensive. So the Magpul system is welcome.
Risky play from Magpul - bulky product line expensive on the shipping and shelf space aspect. Pelican has built the category and doesn’t disappoint. Magpul makes great stuff but this might be a hard sell.
I think Magpul understands that Pelican has very loyal customers, that’s why they developed the Daka grid organizer to retrofit existing pelican cases. I like that idea so much I might just buy a pelican case so I can buy the Daka organizer for it. Really cool idea.
@@frankcastenza6361 yeah I might just do that actually haha. That being said, you have no idea how this case will compare without seeing them thoroughly tested first. Don’t pass judgment too quickly.
Honestly, precut foam blocks of uniform size that you play around with like legos? I'm amazed someone didn't bring that to market sooner. I thought of that shit years ago.
Why can’t you make your DAKA products in the US? Your websites seems to indicate the case is made in the US but the DAKA grid isn’t. I’d love to buy the DAKA products but I Magpul products should be US made imo. Why are you slipping and starting to make a bunch of imported products like the Gloves, glasses, DAKA etc. All products I’d like but won’t bother if it’s imported.
