Ngl this fight really showcases their different fighting styles. Luka fights with his fists and favors punches to the face, and works at getting within punching range (eg. he grabs Yanqing by the wrist to pull him within that range & as added punch momentum after blocking the knee to the face), and he’s got incredible recovery time (eg. launching fireball punch immediately after getting palm strike to the chin) and can take quite the beating (gets pummeled and pulls his ultimate with nothing but mild exhaustion after), all of which brings to mind boxing/streetfighting. He doesn’t seem practiced at fighting someone smaller either - as boxing champion he’s more likely to face large robots or people around his size/taller, rarely people in their preteens, so he’s probably not used to fighting someone Yanqing’s size. In contrast, Yanqing favors keeping his distance. He waits for Luka to make a move before redirecting it and counter attacking with open palm strikes and elbow jabs - when Luka grabs him by the wrist after Yanqing’s attempted knee to Luka’s face to yank YQ off balance and towards Luka’s fist, YQ is quick to rotate so that he’s the one holding Luka by the wrist and palm smacking Luka out of range, and most of the fight he keeps one palm open while Luka has both closed into fists. Unlike Luka’s more larger movements, Yanqing’s movements are more deliberate and precise (he’s not even using his skill). All of which brings to mind martial arts. Also he uses his size to his advantage, implying he’s used to fighting larger opponents - in this case an adult man Luka’s size. Yanqing favoring Energy conservation to show his newfound maturity vs Luka going all out from the get go showing his renewed determination to fight and win after conquering his self doubts and anxiety. I almost want to make a video talking about the perfect story of 2.5's Luminary Wardance. It was so freaking perfect. Here are my thoughts. The way they wrote Luka's story was so beautifully realistic. From the culture shock of being in an unfamiliar place and knowing nothing, to the realization of just how out of his league he was - Luka encountered extremely realistic struggles. Hoyo managed to write an extremely compelling underdog story, WITHOUT HIM BEATING THE CHARACTERS WE KNOW ARE STRONGER. It would have been so easy to cop out to make it feel good, instead of boldly sticking to a bittersweet ending. Luka didn't defeat Boothill. Luka didn't defeat Yanqing. Margie didn't defeat her illness. However...that was not the point. We end up learning the same thing Luka does - how to process defeat. What victory and defeat truly mean in the first place. It would've been so easy to contrive some fantastical way for Luka to defeat those characters. But Luka is not a five star character. He is quite literally not in their league. And that's why, the lesson was not victory, but throwing a punch anyway. It's the true value of the Wardance. The valor, the beauty of fighting an unwinnable fight...it is a microcosm of Jarilo-VI's story. Luka, Igor, Margie, and all of Belobog...embody perseverance. This is the beauty of the Preservation. This is the beauty of the underdog. Fighting battles one cannot win...and giving it your all anyway. Luka gave it his absolute everything...but he still couldn't beat Boothill or Yanqing. But that's okay. It's okay to lose, because there's inherent meaning in the fight. That's the moral of what Hoyo was trying to tell us. That true victory lies in the decision to keep fighting. What a beautiful, beautiful way to remind us of Jarilo-VI's lesson. And there's a reason that this game started with Jarilo-VI - the lesson we learned there will likely be the greatest foundation for our future in this game as the protagonist. Kafka has revealed to us we're destined to meet Nanook. Facing an Aeon...what could be more unwinnable than that? The game is preparing us for that...because we'll need that foundation. This was a beautiful reminder of that. Bravo, Hoyo, bravo. And absolutely brilliant performance by Howard and Alejandro. It made this quest something truly special.
For real, I honestly liked this story about Luka a whole lot. In my opinion, it should've been the main story instead of the stuff with Feixiao and Hoolay.
@maskedblanks7774 I liked the main story too. The main problem with making the Luminary Wardance the main story arc is that doesn't quite have high enough stakes to scratch the itch fans have for story. While this is a filler patch, they seem to indeed be making their filler patches meaningful, with just as much depth and stakes as the main Trailblaze story. I'd say it was a pretty good story in my opinion - they did a really good job making Hoolay a formidable enemy and villain. The cutscenes popped OFF, too. So I guess I'm not saying it should've been the continuance itself. However, this event was an absolutely essential piece of story. I'm really, really happy with what we got in 2.5 and I can't wait for more
These luofu patches have been very good. 2.4 : The introduction of crisis was promising , march story with training and event was good and fun 4 me. 2.5 : hoolay being defeated by yanqing showing his defeat to jingliu had purpose and he continuing to learn and grow This wardance story was good and meaningful giving depth to lukas character and establishing connection between luofu and belebog. The only thing i wanted was death scenes. If moze is killed as declaration of war by hoolay first and then jiaquie should die as sacrifice for chance of win ( since his blood drank by hoolay contained poison ) would have had much deeper impact. But overall 9.5/10 to both patches.

I have the exact same.thoughts! I'm so glad the give the spotlight to my boy and it was written so beautifully and heartwarming ❤❤❤
I'm really, really happy with what we got in 2.5 and I can't wait for more
after his character story witch was also very good
came this story now I really want a 5* Luka
for the remach
These luofu patches have been very good.
2.4 : The introduction of crisis was promising , march story with training and event was good and fun 4 me.
2.5 : hoolay being defeated by yanqing showing his defeat to jingliu had purpose and he continuing to learn and grow
This wardance story was good and meaningful giving depth to lukas character and establishing connection between luofu and belebog.
The only thing i wanted was death scenes.
If moze is killed as declaration of war by hoolay first and then jiaquie should die as sacrifice for chance of win ( since his blood drank by hoolay contained poison ) would have had much deeper impact.
But overall 9.5/10 to both patches.
😭 I love Yanqing so much, this cutscene made me so happy... Yanqing's smirk...HE'S SO ADORABLE, HE'S SO AMAZING AAAAAAAAA *fangirl noises*

Feixiao says that Yanqing is more talented than she was at his age. Yanqing hit Hoolay so hard he got Jingliu flashbacks. Boothill says that a fight with Yanqing would be long and there would be no guarentee that Boothill would win. Yanqing is the youngest lieutenant in Xianzhou history and has beheaded 3 Brood lords prior to the game's events. Also, while Dan Heng was holding back, Blade was being a lot tougher on Yanqing. While Blade probably didn't want to kill Yanqing, he was mocking Dan Heng for not wanting to hurt Yanqing and even said "you deserve no mercy" when he saw Yanqing use Jingliu's move. Blade was also under the influence of mara so wasn't able to control his actions
