I'm honestly glad that they added dodges and rolls as that was a major complaint I had with the first game. Whenever I blocked in the first game, it felt like all the momentum just halted. Having dodgerolls in platform fighters ensures that there's always movement, so I'm glad they're fixing that in the sequel.
I really hope that the story mode is somewhat like Subspace but with voice acting. I wanna see silly character interactions, like Hugh, Jenny, and Rocko interacting with each other as the dlc characters from the previous game, or a super serious character interacting with someone like Catdog.
While I doubt they are cutting stages, I much rather that then characters really there is like three stages that can be cut and replace with a different stage for that character. Though some series just flat don't have much stand out locations in terms of stages to go with unfortunately.
The way i see it. If the game flops, they have the points to work on. Sure its 50 bucks. But i prefer the game series progression. The early titles dont have to be great. As long as there are issues with the games they can improve on it

As excited as I am what worries me is the short life span this game may have just like the first as these games seem to struggle with grabbing a large audience and convincing them to but the game leading to it dying in less than a year but I’m still willing to be optimistic for now.
We’re in uncharted territory when it comes to licensed platform fighters here, the first game had good gameplay but lacking content, so it’s safe to assume this game will also maintain good gameplay, but clearly has way more content this time, including an expansive unique story mode. No licensed platform fighter has been able to tick all those boxes so far, so I think we may truly be about to enter a new era of platform fighters. And if not, well I’m still gonna enjoy NASB lmao
As a person that bought Nick All Stars Brawl 3 times- Xbox, Switch and Steam and a Person who peaked at 1k on the leaderboard on Multiversus. I can say what killed NASB is the the lack of crossplay, community and support. They tried at first to give support but it waned. After they lied about a Q1 crossplay I knew it was the coffin. What killed Multiversus is also the lack of support. How you build up the expectation of a new character every two weeks and not comprimise on stability and bugfixes, and Not deliver. People get upset and leave. The pattern seems to be releasing an unfinished game and promising the world
They didn’t lie about crossplay, there was an update not too long ago that accidentally made it available but according to them it had to be turned back off because Sony and/or Nintendo never got around to legally approving crossplay. So it did happen, they just weren’t allowed to actually add it or talk about it

Looks like nasb 2 is taking a more fighting game approach, I respect that.
