Hi, been trying to sit down in front of this for at least 2 years! :) It's great! I'm 9 minutes in and learnt loads- loads i don't really follow still but i can see where to start looking to understand better so I'm really pleased, thank you. Also everyone is right, your tone and pace are brilliant and i feel relaxed and happy following along, ty xxxxxxxxxxx
Acialist how do you add your effects... one at a time? I do it manually also, trying to find another way to add the effects like appregiator, bit crush etc etc without going clip by clip by clip lol
These are without a doubt the best Ableton tutorials I've found on TH-cam. Your methods are creative, well detailed, and simple enough for a newbie to learn. Furthermore, you really are a very engaging host. Your'e funny when you need to be, instructive when you need to be. You possess fantastic instincts and have a true mastery of this material. Keep up the awesome work & thank you.
I was actually looking for someone who uses the arpegiator for breakcore, and with this tutorial I realized how little I know Ableton, thank u sir. Respect
just finished watching this and gawd dayum! as someone who has never seen any of your videos and just barely knows the fundamentals of ableton this video blows my mind because now i see what the daw is capable of! thank you for the inspiration!
Top quality Ned, the think break is kind like the amen luv it, but one of the best that was used in rave scene was Shadows j hip this house, used in Pennywise, What have you done, Six days by Jimmy j cru T (Kniteforce) list goes on, it just sits brilliantly under the amen like tribal fill break, your Ableton skills are next level Bruv!!!
When you repitched the Alice Cooper break it got extremely Dev/Null for a second there. Digging how easily you can build algorithms to scrub through samples on Ableton.
I just understood like 10% of all this, guess I need to take a go with ableton ;) Take a listen at Igorr, I think what they do is a bit similar, that's what I want to reach also, but more controlled
I kinda wish u would have gone further in this video with including the arrangement view and how to put all the drums u just made in to arrangement. Great video and super easy to learn i will be watching more of videos great job! PS love the title
love your vids, Im the guy who wanted to steal your music an youy said just rip it, This vid is amazing, but man, i used the wrong beats and it sounds like shit. but you gave me the tools to tweak it. love it mate. cheers from Ballarat
THANKS for sharing!! good way for people that doesnt want to move to trackers, OT or others and stay into LIVE, trying step by step and everything fine until I use the midi velocity for trigger the instrument racks. I have random volumes on some trigs (or something is wrong hehe :).
Loved it! Here is my question. This stuff all seems to be randomized. I'm wondering how I could transfer this knowledge over to arrangement mode and make a track that's a little more planned and less random. What I mean is, how can I trigger different breaks and maybe module things like pitch manually, and toggle the random insanity shit on and off?
Very cool, although it seems to be all by chance and not really methodical. Seems like there would be other ways to have more control over the breakcore beat than by random chance. Thank you though for the tutorial !!!!
just stumbled across your channel and gutted i hadnt sooner..... fookin loves the work..totally inspired me.....this is such a great process arpegiating them like this....box of frogs on dmt and meth amphetatmine......good stuff mate... the breaks that is....allthough i imagine the frogs are good too !!!
If I do ever decide to upgrade to 10 (probably during a sale) - Im blaming you 100%! (Cheers mate - so much idea goodness in such a short time - lots of inspiration!)

500 trillion arpeggios chillin at 3% cpu
"What is breakcore? uhhhh I dont know." and at that moment. I hit the like button.
It's stupid, that's what it is! But I love it too.
ey, more respect for bass terror
ahah )))
And to think, I've been doing stuff like this _manually_
You still can. There is no correct way except your way.
Acialist how do you add your effects... one at a time? I do it manually also, trying to find another way to add the effects like appregiator, bit crush etc etc without going clip by clip by clip lol
record the midi outputs of every channel and get you a man who can do both
yup. imma need a tutorial or midi file pls bc...
Same !
*Venetian Snares has left the chat.*

@brokenupbeat i spent about 3-4 years writing this in renoise

I have never heard more touching wedding vows. And I agree.
Agreed!
I was actually looking for someone who uses the arpegiator for breakcore, and with this tutorial I realized how little I know Ableton, thank u sir. Respect
"Simpler reminds me of simpler times, when breakcore was not simpler" xD love this
my heart flutters with every notifactation
when he starts talking about the velocity and how it effects the beat it literally sounds like rocket science
I genuinely love watching this process
Reminds me of that time I fell down the stairs carrying a large box of cutlery
just finished watching this and gawd dayum! as someone who has never seen any of your videos and just barely knows the fundamentals of ableton this video blows my mind because now i see what the daw is capable of! thank you for the inspiration!
Ned: "Aren't you glad you came to watch this... on a monday."
Me: "It is literally monday."
and on that day, it truly was a monday.
and here i am watching on a Monday lol
Monday here too!
caught me the same ^^
i love that you left the sample sources visible at the top of Ableton . well done my dude
The best "how to breakcore" video intro FR xD
I can watch this multiple times, learn a thing or 2 and laugh hard with all the commentary :D I'm a fan for sure
Wow... a brand new world in my sequencer ! Thanks a lot for the video, i believe i'm gonna stick with that for hours and hours
the first five minutes in and you've already blown me away
This has shown me an awesome way to pump out some mangled drum loops, am on my fourth bounce and trawling through! Thank you kindly
lol the amount of information after six minutes... love it its time i learn about a few of these effects
you should do that thing where your mouse arrow is highlighted because there sooo much going on haha quality content though!

On the last 1.30m Ned got his speech into breakcore as well!
Big ups Ned super cool stuff
"It's silly, but I love it". Brilliant description.
I’m happy you are doing what you’re doing
These are fun to watch and im learning so much. The way it just cuts off at the end. Perfection
Love a good 240bpm on a Monday
This will come in handy next week for college
I just thought to myself "Why on earth did I not think about using the arpeggiator for beat creation"?
Cheers again for the Vid Ned.
I've been looking for a way to make breakcore using VCV and I think you've just given me my solution.
tanto tiempo perdido tratando de hacer esto solo y este hombre me hizo todo el trabajo super expedito
@17:56 I forgot I was listening to a tutorial and thought I was listening to an actual drop
You had me laughing so hard almost immediately, what you created pretty much sounds like Chocolate Wheelchair era Venetian Snares.
thats madness :D. could listen to it all day. on second thought...i listen to it all day
You deserve a lot more subscribers.
Wow man....awesome. Just what I needed to make my breaks even more mental!!
10/10 personality would recommend.
right on time again ned. i love you
When you repitched the Alice Cooper break it got extremely Dev/Null for a second there. Digging how easily you can build algorithms to scrub through samples on Ableton.
this is Squarepusher's nose
beautiful stuff.
This is so unveiling it's almost dissapointing. (Just kidding you're awesome.)
This is not how to make Breakcore, just a silly way to fly drum loops around.
@@NedRush Thats exactly how one would make breakcore imo! XDD
jesus i always thought that breakcore was batshit hard. thanks man, this is a great tutorial
sounds wild love it never made a breakcoe beat going to open up ableton now great channel
such a generative approach !! i love it !! thank you !!!!
I just understood like 10% of all this, guess I need to take a go with ableton ;) Take a listen at Igorr, I think what they do is a bit similar, that's what I want to reach also, but more controlled
Max Cooper liked that video.
Last min & a half had me laughing haha amazing. And fantastic mucking as always.
This reminds me of when I'd watch Paula Dean and she'd just recklessly add several sticks of butter to whatever she was making.
my mind is absolutely blown
Yes, but can you dance to it?
How often do you dance to Venetian Snares?
@@CuriousPassenger the real question is when do i not dance to Venetian snares
i think its more of a shuttering on the floor
@@pl33 Hoe scaring 101
with enough determination you can dance to anything
This was super cool
wowwowowow thanks for sharing this
thank you so much
i like the part when you say "we're stupid lets just do that"
This is an awesome video man, you've really given me a lot of different ways to look at chopping up samples!
I kinda wish u would have gone further in this video with including the arrangement view and how to put all the drums u just made in to arrangement. Great video and super easy to learn i will be watching more of videos great job!
PS love the title
love this video ned been looking for a good venetian snares style breakcore sequencing tutorial

every breakcore song is an eargasm
2 minutes into this video I had to pause it due to pissing myself laughing. You’re a funny guy 😅
Back of the net matey. Subbed!

THANKS for sharing!! good way for people that doesnt want to move to trackers, OT or others and stay into LIVE, trying step by step and everything fine until I use the midi velocity for trigger the instrument racks. I have random volumes on some trigs (or something is wrong hehe :).
Allo mate.. same problem here. Pls let us know what the solution is dude?
Double check Vol < Vel is set to 0 for all samples
I am deffinitly going to try this! Thanks for this great tut, you gotta make more like this!
You got an extra sub.!
Watch my other videos.
9:47 sounds like when I accidentally put a record on at 45rpm
this is genius
Very cool, although it seems to be all by chance and not really methodical. Seems like there would be other ways to have more control over the breakcore beat than by random chance.
Thank you though for the tutorial !!!!
not even a minute in and this guy feels like the murdoc niccals of music production
i guess i gotta be good at this and i gonna make breakcore this.
just stumbled across your channel and gutted i hadnt sooner..... fookin loves the work..totally inspired me.....this is such a great process arpegiating them like this....box of frogs on dmt and meth amphetatmine......good stuff mate... the breaks that is....allthough i imagine the frogs are good too !!!

Neddly! Rushian!

I never could get the hang of Mondays
i bloody love this, definitely going to have a go at it, put my ohmicide distortion on it will sound great!
Very cool stuff!
If I do ever decide to upgrade to 10 (probably during a sale) - Im blaming you 100%!
(Cheers mate - so much idea goodness in such a short time - lots of inspiration!)
Don’t need like 10 to do this stuff. Live 9 will do.
@@NedRush Oh yeah - just running thru it in 9 now... but I need someone to blame!!! :-)
Geez this is so good
Please more Content = )
