- Unleash the authentic 60s tones with Nordstrand's NJ4 60s Era Jazz Bass pickups! As every note pulsates with the thrilling resonance of a bygone era.
Looking to get one of these? You can find the NJ4 60s pickup here: nordstrandaudio.com/collectio...
I am not affiliated or endorsed by Nordstrand. All pickups have been paid out of pocket for the channel
The signal chain is plugged direct from an Ampeg RB112 onto a Universal Audio Volt 276 in Logic Pro X. Using no plug-ins and a teeny bit of compression from the Volt 276 in play-throughs.
For strings I used on this review: DR Pure Blues 45-105 & La Bella Deep Talkin Flatwounds 760FS 45-105

I prefer the tone of these vs the 70s. Just a tad bit warmer to my ears. But I'd be happy with either pair.
Keep knocking it out of the park with these demos... great job and looking forward to more.
mmm that jamiroquai... Just put these in my CV 70s. they rip!!! great demo

With flatwounds is better the 70 model because the 60 is too muddy.
And I prefer the stock pickups to NJ because they sound clearer.
The NJ4 sounds clearer. Jazz basses aren’t supposed to sound clearer. They’re supposed to sound muddy, dark, and sparkly.
