Yes Dave, I think the same! :) Sometimes I'm wondering of the CBF1000 but time to time I have to realize that this lovely CB500 is more than great for my purposes! :) (also considering the maintenance fee)
I have just bought this bike ( same colour as well ) lol ! but i still have 2 get my license first, so until then she'll remain in the garage, oh i'm soooooo XCITED CANNOT WAIT : D !!!!!
Hi there! I've been driving a cbr 125 for two years and I passed my second motorcycle licence just two days ago. So ,finally, I decided to get this lovely bike shown here - looks quite the same =) - instead of a cbr500 as I wished. but cb500 is an excellent bike to get started with a bigger, well, machine lol and will see in few years time to get a cbr500. love Honda. they've the best bikes ever, they look fabulous and sound awesome! greetz :D
Yes, it is a lovely bike! :) I have it till 8 months (and 7000Km), and I love it so much! :D The only competitor is the CBF 1000 :D Maybe 2-3 years later...
Hi! GS500 and CB500 are booth very good, reliable bikes! My opinion is: Honda :) Read some articles aroudn that topic (comparsions, etc.) and decide as you wish!
Dear Veljar! Non-lol! My bike is 100% working well maintained bike. You are right, there is a switch at the side stand what deserved to sense whether it is pulled out or not. BUT! It stop's the ignition only when your bike is not in neutral. You can easily start the bike in neutral using side stand. Ask a local Honda dealer if you don't believe me. Cheers!
Hi there! This is an absolutely great bike to learn handle big bikes! However if it is the very first bike in your life I recommend to start with a 250 ccm bike firtst... But it completly depends on your personality. Some people can handle a 100hp bike as a first bike some just can't control the power cold-blooded :) So it's up to you! The fuel consumption is very great! (Because it just have 2 cylinders) Starting from 3.5 (90kmhp crusing) 4.4 is the usual for me. Top was 5 l/100km (rarely)
I would recomend it they are reliable and cheap to maintain i found it slightly heavier on petrol than my previous bikes parts are easy to come by if buying recomend you buy a fly screen fuel economy 17 litres roughly 260 km depends speed etc
+Tegmen70TR Yeah, agree! :) This lovely bike runs like on the video nowaday too since 8 years and ~40 000 killometers. I love it's sound every time I start that :D
@Santik4me Wise decision! :) This bike is a reliable and also affordable bike! As a higher bike level (my dream) is a TDM900 ;) I think you will be satisfied with this bike for many years... With she's 58 HP you can run out of the world if your goal is touring with bike. Good luck!
Just 1 more thing as amagakeresztje pointed out it is quite fast for a first bike maybe get it restricted to 33 bhp you can always take the restrictors off when you learn the ropes good luck and safe riding
Thanks James! I wish the same to you! ;) Maybe your bike is restricted? If you have this powerless issue... I don't have such problems with mine. Now I have fitted a goodridge steel brakeline in front...woow! :) Brutal brake force! I could advise it to anyone!
Honda CB 500 is the best motorcycles in the class, beautiful cheap to maintain povoz an for beginners only that his brakes a bit better anyway and I ride it and I am satisfied extremities.
yepp! diggerman1977 has a good idea!! This is a very popular way of on the CB500!! And you can save lot of money considering: you will have a stronger bike after de-restricion but don't have to buy a new one.
Yes you are right. Sorry. Now I remember better my problems: My bike was turning off when I was trying to move to first gear with side stand down. My scooter is the one that cant start with side stand.
Lol man your bike is broken. You cant start the bike with side stand down. I remember when I got mine cb500 I couldnt figure out whats wrong with it it and the stand was down.
Thanks Vdarek! :) She is a great, and confidential bike, great city runner, and good for touring too. I use it all day to go to work, etc.
Yesss! :D I still love it after 2 years and 25000kms!! ;D
This bike is my dream! I love it!
These are superb bikes in my opinion, I live in Central London and it's the main motorbike for the courier, top marks for Honda, good work horses!
