And even considering politics, it's just a song in favor of the cause of Korean liberation from Imperial Japan. It was written in the 1930s, when the Korean Nationalists and Communists were still working together.
Korea was one of the Allied Powers in WWII, even if a commonly overlooked one.
As early as 1912, Korean independence activists like Kim Gu wrote to President Wilson, making the argument that Korean Independence was morally equivalent to the cause of the US Founding Fathers; unfortunately without much success at the time.
Whatever happened later, they were definitely on the right side of history here.

When he was imprisoned in Jilin city by the Japanese. The Japanese government has records of it. What are you on about?

As for the film, it's adapted from a stage play that Kim Il Sung and other Korean youth in the "Down With Imperialism League" wrote around the year 1930. If you watch the film, it explains this in the opening title screens.
So while the lyrics and melody were written by him while he was in prison, the cinematic version was adapted by a film crew. No one claims he was an opera conductor or something of the sort. But it's documented that the stage play of this was (illegally) performed in Japanese-occupied Korea by Korean independence groups he was involved with.

It's incredible how some dictators were/are so gifted in arts and sciences... They were/are definitely Gods on earth. Modesty is their main characteristic. Isn't it?

@@TizianoVian What is a "dictator" and how do they differ from "normal" leaders?
Seems to me the term is just used for any leader who doesn't let NATO dictate the affairs of his country.
And how is it so unbelievable the guy wrote a song? Lol. People do that all the time.

@@luciusiluvatar7357 I'm sure you can find a good definition for dictator on any dictionary. And, just in case, check the definition of democracy. But please, try not to use dictionaries or encyclopedias written by Kim itself. Just a suggestion
