Thank you for another great review. I’m curious is there a space for Xiaomi Mi Band tests, comparing them to more expensive trackers? Can it be at least somehow a sports tracker for people who are on a budget? Or its accuracy is just very bad?

Excellent question, considering how badly iPhone 7 held up in that colour/finish! For this specific reason I ordered the rose gold one instead. I am coming from the original Apple Sport that is on its tenth year (yah I know😂, but it works 🤷🏻♂️) and that one is in gold which held up very well for almost a decade. So I think their matte aluminium finishes hold up better than the polished ones.

Haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but if you have tested them out, would love to get some feedback.
I just wish the battery would improve even a little bit model to model. While most of my running and cycling friends use Garmin right now, if battery life keeps improving and they keep adding features, it's going to be hard to keep people from leaving their given ecosystem (Apple, Google, Samsung)
Is it possible to use double tap feature while running to switch between Maps and Fitness App so you can quickly see, in Smart Stack, your next turn/directions, and then let the Smart Stack go back to the Fitness app you had open? Meaning can double tap get a quick view of maps without having to touch your screen? This would be huge for me while running in new places but wanting to keep HR/Pace etc data visible.

I covered that bit a bit more in my written review. In this case, there's two pieces. First is the GPS piece. In that case, things were on-point and as expected, I was on target for about 8hrs of GPS run-time (by evaluating before/after battery percentages on 1hr+ long GPS activities). Their current spec for this watch is 7hrs GPS time, so above that. Meanwhile, for daily smartwatch time, I'm getting lower than expected estimates, which, doesn't really make any sense to either myself or Apple (nor does it match what some of my friends testing are getting, which is well beyond my specs). Apple's best guess is something is downloading/cachihng/etc in the background that's burning more battery than it should . They're digging into it at the moment, and I'll update more here (and my written review), once it's sorted out.
@@Dcrainmaker I wonder how many Apple Watch users are actually even regularly doing activities that would be longer than 7hrs GPS time? Same short batteri life as the series 9 is extremely disappointing. You would have thought that the bigger form factor would allow for a bigger battery.
For me, the Apple Watch, strictly viewed as a watch, lacks character and, as a fitness tracker, is just too darn expensive. Add to that the need to charge it every 1-2 days... well, it isn't worth it to me. That's why I'm taking a break from Apple Watch and will be wearing a Mi Band 9 on the right wrist and one of my assorted Casios on the left...best of both worlds (character and fitness tracking) at a fraction of the price.
It doesn't use breathing data, it uses the accelerometer actually. Apple says only hte S9 chipset (so Series 9/10 & Ultra 2) have the power to handle that. Fwiw.
Wow…apple will do anything to block users from importing the industry standard: GPX files that every other watch, bike computer or online navigation for sports use
My watch SE 1 is not eligible for the Watch OS 11 update. My carrier is so desperate that they are offering Watch 10 on pre-order with the pre-order purchase of an iPhone 16 Pro. They are a tier II vendor so are on limited allocations. They don't expect to be able to have either available for pickup unit the first quarter of 2025. You also need to place a $CDN200 deposit on both the watch and the iPhone. So you need to have an extra 400 available that you don't need until Q1 2025! So I am skipping it until next year.
I'm quite disappointed, as swimming in a pool with the apple watch is still an agony. I thought... with the new update they would release the option to mark laps as with other sports... but no! On top of that, the integration of swimming with Training Peaks is still not available. You have to generate your workouts directly in the watch. OMG! So, almost nothing has changed... :(

How is GPS battery life? I’m curious to know if it would last me a marathon while playing music, or while on cellular? I like the lightweight form factor but with marathon training I’m wondering if ultra is the way. And to those who will undoubtedly chime in, yes I have a garmin, but my family wants cellular.
Cannot believe they STILL have not added inline skating as a choice when almost all other major brands and strava have it.... yeesh
What's the difference on the serie 8 vs 9 vs 10 in regard od Siri and on device possibilities ??
Just to be sure ... if you buy the new Apple watch 10 in Europe ... there is still the Blood Oxy function active on it ??
Yes, it is. And if you travel to the US, it's still enabled. However, if you purchase in the US, it won't enable even if you travel/live in Europe.
@@Dcrainmaker, ok Thx, I'm from Belgium 🇧🇪
I feel special for having an ultra 2 with the o2 sensor and still seeing the 5th data point for vitals 😂
Yes, if you:
A) Bought it in the US before roughly Dec 2023
B) Bought it outside the US
@@Dcrainmaker You’d be right! I got my ultra 2 right at launch
i am very interested in this watch never owned an apple watch before how good is it for golf yardages etc lookin for an everyday watch that i can use on the golf course for stats how good is it ? anyone know ? thx cheers from Canada
Does 45band fit 46
Yes, I went from 45mm series 7 to the 46mm 10. All my old bands for just fine
Can you already tell if the jet black watch scratches as easily as the iPhone 7?✨
@@MarvPianist For shure it will
@@nunopinho6231 I’m not sure. It’s been nearly 10years and they have different anodization methods
Oh it will in time. Getting scratched is inevitable.
Wait… THATS how you switch between apps now? I’ve spent a year missing it!!
Can’t you configure double tap to do the same thing, opening your Smart Stack so there’s at least a quick view of, say Maps and Fitness or Strava?
I really need a watch that can detect blood sugar
no
Yes me too!
Hm so if I go to Canada and buy the watch it will have the oxygen reader?
No, it's based on country of purchase (tied to a serial number).
Is that the Ink fabric band?
I’m wondering the same
Yes, on the spec sheet/receipt, the exact edition I have is listed as: Apple Watch Series 10 46mm Aluminum Jet Black, Sport Loop Ink
@@Dcrainmaker cheers. It looks really nice 😊 my series 10 will arrive on Friday with a normal sport band in black, but I probably have to pick up this one as well
@@Dcrainmaker cheers!
I ordered this watch today the 42 mm rose gold aluminum 1 cuz it would ship the fastest I don't remember what number I think it was the series 5 but I had it with my 11 pro Max so it's been awhile
Thanks!
Thanks - very much appreciated!!!
It’s a buy buy buy!!!
No oxygen monitoring..I’ll pass.
Wonder if the outdoor rowing now can track gps….
I think I read somewhere that they added it
Not clear so hoping you might know.. pool swim tells you the water temp whilst swimming? Even in an indoor pool?
Yes, all swim activities.
@@Dcrainmaker thank you so much 👍
Same short batteri life as the series 9 is extremely disappointing. You would have thought that the bigger form factor would allow for a bigger battery.
iI like your shirt
Hi Ray, bit off topic but what hotel did you stay in in Mallorca? 😂
Haha...no worries. No hotel, just a house.
What a Shame that Apple watches Series 6-7-8 have Blood Oxygen Monitor and in the 9-10 and Ultra series NO... Why?
I will stay to my se . When they make good battery we will buy the new
For me, the Apple Watch, strictly viewed as a watch, lacks character and, as a fitness tracker, is just too darn expensive.
Surely seeing as it only uses breathing data then sleep apnea can be detected using pre s10 ultra2 watches with a 3rd party app?
It doesn't use breathing data, it uses the accelerometer actually. Apple says only hte S9 chipset (so Series 9/10 & Ultra 2) have the power to handle that. Fwiw.
@@Dcrainmaker Ah ok, thanks. Ultra 1 does get swim temperature measurements in watchos11 though so I’m happy with that.
What a Shame that Apple watches Series 6-7-8 have Blood Oxygen Monitor and in the 9-10 and Ultra series NO... Why?
Is it good for the watch to swim in saltwater?!
I have the Apple Watch SE and it still has everything I need except for the battery life… it’s so bad
It does not have the always on screen, right? That is the thing I would miss the most. Great watch for the rest.
@@joost3732 nope, it would probably last 4 hours with it. Tbh I turned it off in my Epix Pro too
I had the original SE and just got the 46 10. I love it.
Maps and stats in different apps YUK!
Seriously disappointed they deleted silver stainless steel. Big mistake. Glad I grabbed a SS 9 before they became extinct.
I just feel like for a sleep apnea to be detected, it will need an oxygen sensor.
Nah, already confirmed to be using various sensors like accelerometer.
Nope, as gfy noted above, it uses the accelerometer.
@@gfyGoogle exactly, and it doesn’t even give you a diagnosis, it just prompts you to go in and actually get tested.
Got it. Thanks for the info. When do you think the O2 sensor will be back to the Apple watch here in the US?
@@aidrn.v It’s tied up in the courts so there’s no telling when it will finally be resolved. It could go on for another year or two, and even then it may not come out in Apple’s favor. Your best bet is purchasing a watch outside the US.
What is your daily watch?
I have yet to watch this video but if you don't include a section telling us whether the jet bkack scratches or not I'm going to be disappointed, since this video is "in depth"
Great video. Thank you. Also First comment 😊
How does one get up to 80% in 30min ?
I got my watch 10 a few days ago and did checked a few charging on it and never get a fast charging, not faster then with my previous serie 8.
Today checked it again ... started at 34% ...got up to 66% after 30 min charging, and up to 76% after 40min. Far from the advertising of 80% gain in 30min !!!!
And those who say you only have to charge the watch during 8min to be sure to get trou the night for sleep tracking. Sorry, that's BS
You need to ensure the block you're plugging into is at least 20w.
Does the battery even last a whole day after 3 years?
My Apple Watch Series 10 is coming up on 3 years old and the battery is fine! Wait, scratch that, I meant my Apple Watch Series 10 is not even delivered yet, just like everyone else. 😂
@@WordupG i was referring to the older versions :)
@@99999me1It will not last a day even after 2 years. Maybe it can after one year.
I have a gen 5 and after 4 years battery health was down to 73%. Went to Apple store and had them install new battery for $99.
Service was second to none and watch now runs like new.
