I’ve got both the drkshdw and mainline ramones, the leather is crazy on the mainline. The only difference that I’m a bit upset about is the insole, the insole in the mainline is like a memory foam which makes it the most comfortable sneaker I’ve ever worn. The drkshdw insole is a different material and not even close to being able to compare the two. That alone however shouldn’t justify the vast difference in price. I wouldn’t mind it if they upped the price a tiny bit and included the memory foam insole for the drkshdw.
Oh that’s good to know! But yeah, I guess you could just change the insole on the drkshdws yourself.. def does not justify the price difference. I guess it depends on what material you choose, that could make up for it.. but still

Ordered mainline Ramones today. Im a bit hesitant because Rick footwear at least in the past were so so quality. The whole sole came off my combat boots (from around 2008-2009). Stiching on my old dunks came loose, plus the sole were terrible. Really hoping that quality improved *crossing fingers* 😊
Im also not too happy with Ramones being as popular these days. But turning 40, I feel my days as a gothic ninja is over. At least my wife thinks so 😆

That puffer looked surprisingly good under a coat. It gave the fit a bit more avante garde flair while also having the flexibility of being lowkey. I also think the look that you threw together for the ramones looked great. The pants pair really wall with the silhouette!

the shape on drkshdw and mainline ramones differs a little, the drkshdws has one additional row of eyelets and is a bit more slimfitting and tapers going up the ankle while the mainlines is a little wider at the opening. I do think that either one is going to shape around your feet with wear so the heel issue is probably just when unworn if even that.
Ah that’s good to know, thanks! Yeah they are a bit narrow but I have narrow feet so that’s cool.. the heel is doing great so far! (2 weeks of daily wear)
I like the look. I have these same ones and I love them. I also have the Rick Owens Vintage (vans) sneakers and use the Ramones as the beaters but overall really good shoe.

I first bought drkshdw Ramones as well, they were stiff I changed the insole bc they weren’t comfortable, broke them in ad wear them equally as much as my new pair
Bought mainline low ramones earlier this year, way more comfortable and durable right out of the box so they may be worth it if you tend to treat them as daily beaters

Haha yeah I know.. but a great product is a great product and I try to wear what I like and not what is popular. But I was hesitant in the beginning, trust me
The puffer vest to me looks like something with diminished usability... no pockets would be fine for a short piece that doesn't cover the pant pockets, but like this I don't know. The single button closure also seems suboptimal. I guess it's fun to play around with, but I would be interested how much use you actually get out of it from day to day.
I love your Julius pants! Have you talked about those in any of your vids? I only know you used to have leather cargos, didn't know about classic pants like these... bit jealous, since I love Julius and leather pants, but I only got some with elastic inserts that aren't as versatile in styling.
The look with the ramones reminds me of the classic StyleZeitgeist looks from way back. In that sense you could say it's "dated", but I think it's a timeless silhouette and elegant simplicity never goes out of style. I'm biased in saying this, however, because I still love dressing like this as well :D

Reg the Julius pants: yes I made a video called „black leather pants“ a while back that is all about these. I have had them for a couple of years now and love them to death!

I just bought also the Ramones, low tops this time. Took a long period to pull the trigger. Had some high tops few years ago (the all black versions 🖤) , but sold them, because I didn’t find them very comfortable on my feet. But I like my new ramones, but they don’t beat the Bamba 2 😊 but they are cool.
Yeah also the category for me as Bambas.. I like both! Got a bit tired of always wearing Bambas so this is a great mix up..

I like rick, but many pieces are pretty hardcore, so from a practical standpoint the more simple pieces are pretty easy to use like jeans or hoodies, and the construction and materials are pretty cool. so i live in this middle ground i guess, get some pieces that are stealthy.. not wearing kiss boots daily.
i think thats why a lot of people prefer the older rick owens collections and hence prefer drkshdw

Agree! I wouldn’t wear most „out there“ pieces from recent collections but I respect the vision. I am mainly looking at basic pieces or something in the middle

Fully agree! I mainly look at Rick for basics these days. As with most brands the older stuff is better

Good day! Looking forward to my first RO pick up, but not sure of the sizing. Is the DRKSHDW Ramones from SS24 Lido TTS? I’ve been told by a lot of people that they are. For info, my feet are 25.8cm long and are a bit wide and I like wearing shoes that offer only a tiny bit of space (0.5 inch between toe and cap). Much thanks
Lows or highs? The highs are more TTS but I got a pair of the slip on lows from SS24 Lido and I want a full size down
Have my sights on the Pentagram Highs. But still not sure until now about the sizing. I have people saying TTS, people saying half size up, and people saying size down. I’m thinking of letting this one go since i don’t have a store near me where i can try it on and don’t wanna end up looking like Ronald McDonald
@@adelmcraevidal4826 fair. I am lucky enough to have a store in my city that sells Rick so I can try on. But honestly you should be fine going TTS or half a size down if you are worried. Also you should be able to exchange if they don’t fit properly

nice vid, as always, but this time i must say, i don't understand the hype? for me rick is still a great artist, but not in fashion anymore, the look is not 'fresh' these days & the oversize items aren't cool (exspecially in this times, save garment) you have such wonderful CCP sneakes and why spend money on such cheap material, i own the geobasket since 2010 and even that sole wasn't well done IMO! BBS bambas are also fall apart sometimes, but the artisanal 'urban' style was much more 'true'... even the name is ridiculous, i saw the 'ramones' back in the 90's and they would never ever wear such shoes, it's for a clown in a circus (+ more colors of course ;-) SRY
